Skyrim And Other Games Not Loading

Skyrim is not loading?

Don't worry, this is a common, known issue for Bethesda games. If you were to contact them about it, they'd tell you to do this, which works 99% of the time:

Go ahead and go to the xbox dashboard. Now load up the game. As soon as the screen fades to black (ie, it's starting to load from the disc or hard-drive if you have it saved there) press and hold the "A" button. Keep it held in until the Bethesda Softworks Logo comes up. You can now let go of "A". Doing this is telling your xbox to clear the game's cache.

Due to Bethesda's games being so large, once you rack up a large amount of gameplay hours, it will begin to run sluggish. The game is actually saving all places that you've been before, that way whenever you go there again, it can load them faster. If it's got too much of this stored, you have the issue of it taking forever to load/freezing/etc. Again, it's a known problem, and it's a simple fix.

After doing so, you'll notice that your initial load time (after selecting your file) will take a little longer than usual. Again, this is normal. It's going to take a bit longer to load since you've cleared it's cache and it begins to create a new one.

I can confirm this fix working for Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas (I've had this loading issue occur in all of them). Another thing to keep in mind is it'd be wise to install the game to the hard-drive.

My skyrim game wont load?

If you have already tried taking it out and cleaning it then putting it back in and it does not work, I would wait a little while and try it again in maybe a few hours. If it still won't work, take it back.

Skyrim pc not loading data files?

This is a Steam error, not a Skyrim error.

You may have either corrupt or badly defragged files. Run Steam online and ensure it is updated to the latest update. Run the "Verify Cache" for the game and also the defrag.

If these do not fix it, then you may have mods that you have subscribed to, but no longer use, but did not unsubscribe to from Steam. Steam is trying to load them but you don't have them in your data files list.

Skyrim PS3 not Loading?

The Freezing i've got discovered happens after The video games been on for prolonged (3-4 hours) sessions of time. the only thank you to strive by contrast is to restart the sport once you spot it start to pass slightly. The loading circumstances are very stressful. in addition they seem to enhance with consecutive time performed. yet standard there is not probably an answer. the sport is extensive and consequently can not generate each and every room and city etc, on the blink of a watch. it style of feels to me that this has much less to do with the sport itself and extra to do with the processing velocity of the ps3/xbox. they are in common terms equipped to pass so speedy so while a developer creates a sport it has to permit the sport to run easily interior each and each device. those loading circumstances look like the only thank you to create what skyrim is and make it playable

Skyrim location not loading?

I just finished the Diplomatic Immunity quest and am trying to get to Delphine in Riverwood, however when I try to enter the Sleeping Giant's Inn the game gets stuck on the load screen. I've already waited over half an hour to give the game time to sort itself out, still nothing. The game works fine everywhere else except where it actually matters; I've already invested over 100+ hours into this game and have looked passed the many glitches it has (as annoying as they are), but it's seeming that I can't progress on my quest due to this 'inconvenience'. If anyone can give me some helpful advice as to what to do about this then I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

A side note: I own the game for the xbox 360.

Skyrim: My game is stuck on the opening loading screen and won't load up my game (PS3)... help?

So I start my game and when the menu comes up, I press 'Continue'. All that works fine.

Then, as soon as I get to the loading screen when it's loading my game up to play from my last save point, it goes on.. FOREVER. And let's be honest, even if it does eventually load, i'd rather not wait 10 or 20 minutes each time I go into a door for it to load.

To add more problems, when I try to open up the PS Home when this problem occurs, the PS3 freezes.

Has anyone had this problem in the past and knows how to deal with it? Please help, I need advice. I can not play my game at all, which I have spent many, MANY hours on, so i'd rather not start a new file.

Thank you for reading. :)

Skyrim Loading Screen Not Working?

You may have to wait for the patch or bug fix. Skyrim is having problems on all 3 systems. The only fixes so far is to update drivers, fix sound settings and make sure directx10 and VCRedist are installed off game disc, and putting it in windowed mode then pressing ctrl+alt+del then hitting cancel when it get to the loading dragon. These probly won't help much because they aren't true fixes. I'm kinda suprised that it hit shelfs with these problems, but I love bethesda so I'll do as bethesda's PR VP Pete Hines and be patient.
If you can download a save file and put it in my documents/ my games/ skyrim/ saves/. Then load the save then try and load a new game it may work even with other sound settings. Mine finally worked after giving up putting my sound settings to normal then running someone elses save.
Hope this helped

Problem With Skyrim Loading?

Saved files must have been corrupted somehow. I dont remember turning off the console while saving, but who knows. I deleted the Skyrim Update; and the game went past the blank screen no problem

Unfortunately I wasted an hour of my day and not to mention the two saved characters I had poured time into. Frustrating. For anyone with the same problem; you will have to delete anything associated with Skyrim from your xbox and any external storage.

Skyrim loading problems for ps3 please help ?

Iv had skyrim for about 3 months and it started out small with the laggs like only a skip or 2 second freeze. But over time its been getting worse. Like a 10 second lag when I pull up my compass for the map skills and weapons. And then it will freeze all the time and over the last week it started to do this thing where if I load any load it takes forever like at the first of the week it was just a 2 min wait then it turnd into a 5 min wait now i get lucky enough to even play the damn game cuz now it won't load at all on any. I even made a new character and saver it and loaded it and did the same ****. Should I get a new disk at gamestop tommorrow or what could it be the systms problem?? All my other games work perfectly just skyrim. Please professional help for this. It's on ps3

There is no clear answer, because this stems from various causes. It is a bit like asking to know why the car won't start. Battery might be dead. It might be out of gas. The ignition might be soaked. The ignition wire may have dislodged. So and so on...The first question would be: Do you have any mods installed? Mods can cause this behaviour. Another question is "can you start a new game?" and "what happens when you start a new game, save it, and then try to load that?" (It is not clear to me from the description)Possible Solutions:Things would have been relatively easier on a PC. (1) One thing you could do on a PC is to download a utility called "script cleaner" from the Nexus and use it to delete "orphaned scripts" in the same game.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/...(2) You could also check the Papyrus script log to see the last message. This might be a clue as to why it hangs. You could then delete that specific script from the save game. Note that this can break your game, so exercise extreme caution, and proceed only when you are certain that you understood everything.(3) To me, sporadic hangups happen when there is some sort problem with the amount of memory available. If you are using SKSE, consider adding the memory patch to the SKSE.ini file. Here is a forum thread with the relevant information in it:http://forums.nexusmods.com/inde...If you have no mods installed, most of what I have up there is irrelevant. (5) Calling Bethesda would then be your best shot. (4) Before that, consider opening up more space on your machine. Maybe it's trying to swap memory and hanging when it cannot find enough hard drive space to do that.
