Skyrim Bug Xbox 360 Blood On The Ice

Skyrim: Blood on the ice, Calixto won't die! xbox360?

Strictly in game you're not actually really supposed to know that the murderer is Calixto while you're patrolling the stone quarter at night after speaking with Wuunferth, unless you have picked the master lock on his chest in his house and found evidence, but rather it is found out later while you see him either about to, or executing the victim in the market that he is, the real killer. I know this may sound stupid but perhaps you have overlooked this for example not waiting long enough in the stone quarter at night and attempted to kill him prematurely when he walks to his house - whilst already knowing he was the killer due to looking in a guide such as uesp.net so therefore it would be impossible to kill him at this stage as he is classed as an essential npc at this point. You can only kill him while he is about to or after he executes a victim in the market.

It does however say on uesp.net that one of the bugs is that you cannot kill him period, and has something to do with actions prior if so I have no idea and this may be what you're reffering to - of many people having the issue...

Skyrim: Blood on the Ice Bug? Calixto Will Not Die?

Having a really annoying bug in this quest. I have finished the first part of the quest and arrested Wuunferth, and I have now found the next killing and started the second part. My objective was to talk to Wuunferth in jail, which I did. He told me to go to the Stone Quarter tomorrow night. Right after he said this, the objective to visit the Stone Quarter tonight was immediately completed even though I did nothing and I was given a new objective to Catch the Murderer. The quest arrow pointed to Calixto, who could be seen running through town. I tailed him and he eventually went into Hjeirem (If it matters, I have not yet purchased it, although I do have the option to). Once I followed him in he immediately turned hostile and attacked me. I fought back, but for some reason he was marked as an essential character and simply crouched and rested when I "killed" him and was then revitalized. After killing him about 3 times I sheathed my weapon, and he did the same and then walked into the secret chamber and just stood there indefinitely. I couldn't hurt him, I couldn't kill him, I couldn't talk to him and I couldn't pick his pockets. I ended up loading another save after I finished the first quest series for blood on the ice but before I started the second.

I guess the question is How Can I Fix The Game So That When I Talk To Wuunferth The Objective "Visit The Stone Quarter" Is Not Instantly Completed?

On an unrelated note, is it still possible to sell the Strange Amulet to Calixto after completing the first quest series of Blood on the Ice but before the second is started?

Blood on the Ice Skyrim mission glitch!?

I'm completely lost. After reading many other testimonies in regards to having glitches in Blood on the Ice none have pertained to mine.

I followed up on the clues and then I take the butcher's fliers to Jorlief. He tells me to talk with Viola. I follow her back to Hjerim. Viola tells me to check out something strange about the cabinet and there isn't an option to do so. I already grabbed all the fliers. I took the amulet. Nothing happens when I try to talk with Viola again. She just keeps repeating that I need to check out the cabinet. Has anyone else had this issue?

Skyrim quest Blood on the Ice won't start?

On my Skyrim save on PC i can't seem to get the quest "Blood on the Ice" to start.
I'm level 55 already, and i have visited Windhelm enough times. The people still talk about the 3 murders but i never see the 4th murder at the graveyard. Susanna the Wicked is still alive at Candlehearth Hall. I keep visiting Windhelm through the main gates at night (which apparently is what your supposed to do) but the murder never occurs.

I read that you can buy the house in town and the quest starts right away, but when i go to the guy to buy the house he says that there has been problem with the house and that its not quite ready to be sold yet, and so i can't buy it. Please someone let me know if theres a more specific way to start the quest that im not aware of.

Why did Bethesda release Skyrim with so many bugs? Was it a rushed production schedule? Lack of proper user testing? Surely they had the resources to identify and fix this stuff?

You are right to be frustrated. It is basically impossible to release a game or other software product that is bug-free.But you are wrong that Bethesda had enough resources to identify and fix this stuff. Especially the testing stuff part. This game has several hundred quests, is run on three different OSs (Xbox360, PS3, PC--with innumerable graphic cards). A complete play through of the game (all quests and dungeons) takes one person about 200 hours. Then add all of the variations of character skills that you might have for a dungeon. And then verify that any bug's fixed did not break anything else by going through the entire product again. That is about 33,000 hours of testing, if done with perfect thoroughness. At $10 an hr you are looking at half a million once you get hardware and a test lab. That's too much to spend (and too low of a pay rate). And each bug that comes up needs to be addressed, which is a much more expensive process, since that requires the efforts of engineers, not testers. In the end lower priority bugs are just allowed through. A non-critical quests that fails, poor syncing of speech to animations, broken book cases, etc. And even if you have a "perfect" game, the public is going to beat the crap out of it and find new high priority bugs. Ultimately the first two months of release have been an unacknowledged "gamma test" (gamma comes after beta) for the past few decades of PC game development.

In Skyrim, I can't start the quest "Blood on the Ice" because the guard i need to talk to is dead.?

Skyrim Opening Scene Bug?

I just bought Skyrim with my friends and the opening cutscene will not finish. The driver of the cart thing pulls up into the village next to the wall but then does not get out like normal and we just sit there and nothing else happens. We are playing on an Xbox Pro Arcade (20GB) 360 and we thought that may be the cause.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any solutions? Still sitting against the wall here -_-

Who is your favorite follower in Skyrim?

Well, of course it was Serana. She is often marked as the only follower with “a soul”. I can confirm. While of course her dialogue gets repetitive, I always felt comfortable next to her. It didn’t feel like you need her, it felt like she needs you.She made me roleplay hard.Eventually, our relationship got complicated, I forced her to get cured of vampirism but then I decided to become a vampire myself. I left her behind, and after I finally got cured, too, I found a new follower, one that felt more loyal. It was Ingjard. And hell, was she badaß. I really liked her. She wears heavy armor, uses two-handed weapons and is usually pretty sassy. Her top level is also very high, so she is overall a good follower. We had tons of fun together. But she got annoying as well. When I decided to travel to Solstheim, I offered her to become a steward of Heljarchen Hall, my favourite place to stay in all of Skyrim. She gladly accepted. And I ventured onto the island. Alone.Until I met this fella:Teldryn Sero, the most badaß, sassy and harsh dark elf out there. The community seems to like him as well.I loved the fact that he didn’t care for me that much and didn’t act sad when I told him to f*** off. And I did that quite often. There were times when I just didn’t feel like listening to his unending harsh remarks, when I just wanted to travel alone, but other times, I knew I needed company, and he was always the one. It just felt right to employ him and not some random dude who offered me his service just because I retrieved his stolen sweetroll.I love people like him. People who are honest and don’t stick their noses into matters that don’t concern them.Obviously I didn’t build a relationship with him. That’s why I didn’t feel bad when I left him on Solstheim after finishing the Dragonborn DLC. I sailed back home, defeated the Ebony Warrior, and that was where my journey ended. Did my Dragonborn marry Ingjard, Serana, or perharps Sapphire? Did he travel south, towards new adventures? Or did he commit suicide because there was nothing left to do? I don’t know. I left him staring towards the skies of Skyrim, with the corpse of the toughest enemy behind him. That was the ending I liked.

Skyrim Harmugstahl lever puzzle bug?

I am having a very annoying problem with the lever puzzle in Harmugstahl. None of the levers work at all! I looked online and found people had the same problem, but when I tried the recommended bug fixers (leaving the place and coming back, shutting off xbox, etc.) none of them worked. I am trying to complete the Totems Of Hercine quest but this lever bug is keeping me from completing the quest. I have the Xbox 360 version of skyrim.
