Slapstick Routine Ideas

Homecoming court skit ideas?

Ok so every year for our homecoming we have a homecoming court and the court is introduced at our homecoming pep rally. When the court is introduced they come out with a cool creative skit. For example one year one couple was kim possible and ron stoppable, another year someone did my shiny teeth and me from fairly odd parents, another year someone did the sundrop commercial where the girl drops it like it's hot, and last year a kid did gangnam style. This year I was paired up with two princesses, one escort, and I'm the prince. We're having trouble coming up with a idea for a skit so if someone could help give us one that'll be great. Thanks!

What are some ideas for challenging yourself?

Sit in silence and think about your  past actions , think about the times and situations you wanted to change , think about all the good memories you had.  take a deep breadth and ask your self what would be my legacy .Open your eyes and make a list of things you wanted to change and try not to indulge in them again.write about the great memories and vow to make more...and most important start to work on your legacy,  it can be any thing ,any goal, be it simple or complex . just think about these when you are quiet

What to do for a last minute talent show!?

learn how to juggle. most people think that this is a ridiculously hard thing to do but I learned the motions from a book in twenty minutes. practice until the show and there you go. this is a fun thing to do with friends since you can invent new tricks.

but if that sounds like too much work... you could always try slapstick comedy. or you could write a short skit and perform that. thorton wilder wrote a whole book of "three minute plays." you could try to write your own....

singing is always an idea, but everyone seems to sing at talent shows. still, it isn't a bad plan b.

can any of your friends jump rope or double dutch? that isn't too hard to learn either and you could do some simple tricks.

...or you could burp the alphabet (joke)

anyway, good luck figuring things out! hope the show goes well.

Is it a good idea to start a stand-up comedy career in India?

Certainly..drama and entertainment companies like AVUM are doing a brilliant job in stand up comedy.that obviously mend stand up comedy is well received. make sure your jokes are not too slapstick if you want to make a career out of it. "it's easy to make someone laugh, but hard to make them smile"

What would have been a better idea for the finale of 'Seinfeld'?

I thought it ended just fine, the way a nihilist, cynic and revolutionary like Larry David might end his funny diatribe against humanity. Was the show as funny as it could have been? NO. Larry was rusty and Jerry himself almost ruined the whole show with those last two seasons. But was it in the spirit of the show? Yes. The idea of them spending a year in jail, just for being themselves, was a wonderfully misanthropic idea - not to mention a bit of a karmic justice for what were essentially sociopathic and narcissistic characters.Maybe they were “high functioning” compared to the Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang, but that’s still what they were.It was actually a wonderful “screw you” sentiment to the audience, suggesting that we were all a little complicit in laughing at such dark things. But it was funny! And that was the point of this wonderfully acerbic show. Bleak can be funny.I think it would have been cheesy to end the show with the gang moving on, or “growing up” or god forbid, finding a soul. That’s not at all what the show was intended to be. It was very much Vaudevillian, Bohemian and contrary to all the sap of the 1980s and 1990s. In many ways it was the grandfather of all these cynical urban shows on television today. It also remains timeless in that way…that I can still watch repeats and laugh the same way, because it is classic slapstick and intellectual absurdism that doesn’t really age. It’s a time capsule of the way life used to be that I enjoy tremendously.SOOOOO glad it didn’t try to have a Friends moment at the end. That would have left an even more bitter taste in my mouth.
