Slightly Loose Adult Tooth

My adult tooth is slightly loose, is that okay?

(First, make sure you tooth does not look displaced to the front or to the back. If it does, you have to see your dentist to have it adjusted back to its right position.)

If it's not displaced and just slightly loose (as you wrote), a good news is the chance that its root attaches back to the socket by itself is very high.
In this case, dentist may not need to do anything. Dentist probably just need to take an Xray to evaluate its position and see if there's any sign of root fracture. If it looks fine, dentist may send you home and have it checked up again after 6-7 weeks.
However, if you have a pain when chewing, you need to see dentist to have your tooth's height adjusted a little bit.

For now, don't touch it too much , don't eat hard food and use mouthwash to keep your mouth clean.

Anyways, because you are having ortho work, I highly recommend to have your tooth checked by your orthodontist, I don't know if this trauma affects the result of your expensive ortho. work.

hope this helps :)

How to treat a slightly loose front tooth?

Loose tooth may be caused by gum inflammations or periodotitis. Come to your dentist for a thorough check-up to find out the underlying cause, then you’d better seek proper treatment in a timely manner. With ignorance, you may ultimately suffer from even tooth loss. So it would be wisable for you to pay close attention to you oral health.

Can an adult tooth get loose and fall out?

An adult tooth will not just fall out, unless it's decayed (it would be black and have holes) or you hit it against something (it would have to be hard like a brick). Biting down on a gauze won't knock your tooth out, but it will leave your tooth feeling sensitive which is why it may feel like it's going to fall out. If your tooth does fall out it's not a big deal. Just put it in some ice, sceduele an emergency meeting with your dentist, and he/she will put it back in. But it's highly unlikely that that will happen. Adult teeth don't fall out unless you've knocked it out.

MY FRONT TEETH FEEL SLIGHTLY LOOSE! WHAT DO I DO?

I'm sixteen, there is a small gap between my two front teeth. they are adult teeth. i brush twice a day, sometimes about once a week i get a little neglectful and only brush once. i drink on average a can of redbull a week and maybe a liter of dr pepper a week. i also eat an apple a couple times a week and i have two oranges 5 days out of the week. my oral hygiene isnt perfect so my teeth are somewhat stained yellow and i think from all the dr pepper i drink my gums receded a tad bit on my front teeth. my gums are light pink and dont hurt so i assume theyre healthy and fine, but when i put a finger on one of my front teeth and push it foward slightly with my bottom teeth it feels loose. i dont do this often, i just discovered it like a month ago but didnt think much if it till now.
has any of you guys experienced this or know what to do or have any helpful tips on how to strengthen my gums or builld them up so my teeth dont get too loose? im scared for em, i dont want to get fake ones. mature answers only guys, and every single answer is helpful and very, very much appreciated. thanks guys :)

If you sense that a tooth has become slightly loose, is there anything a dentist can do to try to restabilize it? I

There are many reasons a tooth (or teeth) may feel and be loose.  Gum disease, a traumatic bite where the tooth hits too hard when closing or chewing.  An abcess around the root from deep decay, or a fractured root are all reasons for a feeling of looseness.  Depending on the cause the remedy may be as simple as adjusting the bite or doing root canal or periodontal surgery on gums around the tooth.  Often the cause becomes obvious on examination and veiwing x-rays of the area. There are many other steps that can be taken ot restabilize the loose tooth.

Should I freak out about my teeth being slightly loose?

yes please, be worried, make a little efforts and go visit your periodontist. The normal dentist will advise you to get it extracted, but if it is slightly lose, it can be brought back to normal by the help of a periodontist.Don't wait thinking, rush Now!

Will a loose adult tooth heal itself?

You really need an x-ray to be sure you didn't fracture the root. If you didn't, then yes, it will heal. Do not use it for 1 -2 wks for any chewing other than SOFT foods. The sensitivity when inhaling cold air, could mean you broke some piece off. That may need a filling to fix that.
Still, you won't know for sure unless you see a dentist.

What should I do with my slightly loose permanent teeth?

The best way to evaluate this is to see a dentist. There are many reasons why teeth can be loose, ranging from bad (periodontal disease) to not so bad (clenching/grinding). A complete exam, with at least one x-ray will be able to give you a lot more information.Your dentist should be able to put your mind at ease and let you know what may be causing this, as well as how to treat this problem.
