Small Venue In Costa Mesa Ca

Where are the best music venues in Orange County?

It depends on what type of music venue you're looking for.The OC Performing Arts Center, is excellent and typically has more "high-brow" touring acts along with the local symphony. The Grove, The Galaxy Theater and the Coach House pull in comparable national touring bands with local acts added in.For smaller venues, Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa and the Slidebar or Continental Room in Fullerton have some pretty decent shows. It's best to just grab an OC Weekly and see what's going on, though, as there is a lot going on almost every day of the week.

What are some small wedding venues in Orange County?

We have some amazing wedding venues on our site that can accommodate small weddings, but keep in mind we only work with luxury hotels. I hope this helps some…https://www.myhotelwedding.com/h...

What's the smallest venue that you have seen a now famous rock band before they were that famous?

Probably the most unknown band that went on to be BIG I ever saw was the Police in a bar in Granite City, Illinois, that held maybe a hundred people - And it was nowhere near capacity. This was about two months before “Roxanne” reached American radio…(The next time I saw Sting, someone had given me tickets to see him at the Muni in St Louis, on a stage easily big enough to hold the entire bar I’d seen him and the other guys in in early ‘78. He was UNBEARABLY arrogant and pompous; I actually looked around the lawn area for a rock to throw at him. One of the most smug, insufferable “Do-you-commoners-even-REALIZE-how-LUCKY-you-are-to-be-seeing-me-here-tonight” dickweeds I’ve ever encountered. Every single thing people hate about rock stars, and every thing that punk was supposed to destroy - Right there in front of me. He all but ordered the crowd to kiss his ring. Fuck that guy.)My tastes run to “underground” / “cult” / “roots” acts, anyway; I’ve seen plenty of big acts in arenas and in smaller, 1,000 to 2,500-capacity halls and clubs, so I’m assuming that’s not the kind of “small” venue you’re thinking of; While they were never Police-big, saw Jason & the Scorchers in tiny hole-in-the-wall joints several times. Have seen Robbie Fulks in bars smaller than my house. The Mekons in the basement of an Italian restarant that couldn’t have held more than a hundred. Los Straitjackets in a bar literally called “The Underground” that held maybe 150. (One of the most entertaining, riotous shows I ever saw was El Vez and Los Straitjacket’s Christmas Extravaganza at the Double Door in Chicago. 550 people max.) The North Mississippi All Stars at Blueberry Hill, St Louis. Capacity 150. The Bottle Rockets, in a room that maxed out at 300. Justin Townes Earle in a 150-seater. Dwight Yoakam in a joint that held maybe 500. Todd Snider in a 200-seater. The Deadstring Brothers in a bar (called “Guitars & Cadillacs” - Heh.) that holds maybe a hundred. The Waco Brothers in a hall that held 300. Have been at bars and nightclubs, seeing a small local act when people like Dave Edmunds and Ry Cooder showed up to jam. That’s all I can remember at the moment….

Looking for a baby shower venue in Orange County CA?? Any Ideas?

Find a restaurant that you like and rent a room. Or you could have it at your house. All the Baby Showers that I have been to in OC are at the hosts house.

Differences between Los Angeles and San Diego?

The cities within Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Diego County could be considered one giant Megalopolis. The only break in geography and population occurs at Camp Pendelton near Oceanside. Without the Marine base these three counties would all be one giant city.

The only time you know you are in a different city in Southern California is when you see signs such as, "Welcome to Anaheim," or "Welcome to Santa Monica," etc. Without the signs being posted most people would think they were still driving in the same big populated city.

Given this large population center you can see how traffic would be heavy in all areas. Both cities have extreme traffic gridlock at rush hour. I remember driving one morning from San Diego to Buena Park in the HOV lanes of Interstate 5. I did a rough estimate of the cars I passed in a three mile stretch and figured it was 18,000 vehicles.

The rents of these three counties is generally the same. The SoCal rule is that the closer you live to the beach the more costly it is. Conversely, the more inland you live the cheaper it is. Other items also factor into rents like security, off-street parking, garage provided, etc.

There is plenty to do in both cities. Los Angeles is bigger so there is more to do there. San Diego just has different attractions and that is why tourists generally visit both venues when visiting Southern California.

One of the biggest differences between San Diego and Los Angeles is the ability to increase the width of the freeways. Los Angeles has built buildings right up to the sides of the freeways so they cannot make the freeways any larger. San Diego still has room to expand their freeway system without invoking emminant domain laws to acquire additional properties.

Los Angeles does appear to have a more publicized party and club scene because of the celebrities that live in the area, but there is no shortage of nice bars and clubs in San Diego. There is no shortage of booze anywhere in Southern California.

I currently live on the westside of Los Angeles and am thinking of moving to Costa Mesa, Tustin or Villa Park in Orange County - what should I expect?

Drive to those places and have a look. Other than the geography the difference is not a lot. If you are single though, the OC is NOT a good place to meet people. It is more family oriented. If your job is still on the west side of LA, the commute to work on the 405 or the 5 will make you regret the move big time. Only move to the OC if you have a job there.I used to live near Villa Park. It is an enclave of well to do people in expensive houses and not a place to move to unless you can afford it. The nearby City of Orange is more reasonable and the 92865 is a good area. I lived there for 2 1/2 years.I also lived for 7 years in the 92627, Costa Mesa for 7 years and I also liked it there. As it is much closer to the ocean I was able to live there in a place without air conditioning. I got by in the summer with only electric fans.Costa Mesa is a law and order city and very safe. While I was there the only murder was one gangster from LA who was hiding out getting hit by another LA gangster in a targeted shooting. I lived just south of the city golf course and while there was sometimes some graffiti that was about it. The area west of Newport Blvd though is very nice.I only left when I returned to Canada to take care of family matters.I only drove through Tustin now and then but I was essentially the same as Costa Mesa.Again though, do not move there if you have to commute into LA. The 5 and 405 in rush hour are horrific. I commuted on the 405 against the main flow of traffic as my job was further south in Orange County and that still was bad enough.
