Snowboard Pants Sizing

What size snowboard pants should I get?

I want to buy a pair of 686 smarty original cargo pants and I'm wondering if S is big enough for me. I'm done growing and am 5'9 150 lbs. My jeans are 32x32 and without shoes the heals drag on the ground a bit. The S for the 686 size chart is waist 30-32 and the inseam is 31. If I got up to M the waist is 32-34 and the inseam is 31.5. I think the waist on the M will be ok since they are adjustable and I need a belt with my 32 waist jeans. I am just wondering if the length will be long enough. are the inseams on jeans normally longer than the inseam on snowboard pants because the crotch is naturally lower? I want the snowboard pants to be able to drag on the ground a bit when I'm not wearing my boots. Should I go with S or M? Thanks!

Snowboarding pants as everyday wear?

I've read a couple different questions on here about wearing snowboarding pants as regular everyday wear. The only real drawback i can find is that they can be a bit loud and that they would no long be as waterproof. No offense, but i never intend to go snowboarding since the closest area is about a hour and a half away. So the waterproofing isnt really the biggest issue to me. Also, it appears that there is no real size in numbers, so what size would a person that wears 30,31 in jeans wear?

So anyways, what are some of the drawbacks from wearing snowboarding pants as everyday wear?

These are the snowboarding pants i was thinking of getting by the way

Can i bleach my burton snowboard pants?

I wouldn't bleach them, Spray and Wash will help and isn't as dangerous as bleach. You may find that they come clean without any additional chemicals with just plain detergent. My clothes look like new when I wash them and they look pretty bad before hand, I never have to use anything but detergent.

Ask yourself this question, do you want to take the chance of ruing your pants. I'm guess that since they're burton they cost a pretty penny. I know mine were almost $250 and I'm never taking a "chance" with them because its not worth having to replace them if they get ruined.

Can men use women snowboard pants?

I wear guys pants, so why can't a guy wear girls pants!
You'd probably be a large, I'm a small-medium in womens snow pants and my snow pants that are mens are a size xs

I am a 5'2 female weighing 140lb. What snowboard size should I buy and what brands are better for beginners?

Sizing is mostly a function of your weight and the kind of riding you aspire to do. Your height comes into it too, but weight is more important. Foot size doesn't feature unless you get up to about a size 12 and you have problems with your toes sticking too far over the side. If you want to carve long, fast turns across the mountain or you think you're going to spend a lot of time in knee-deep powder then you need a longer board. If you are more interested in learning cute tricks and hanging around the park, you want a shorter one. Short boards are easier to chuck around but they are less stable at speed and they sink in powder. As a beginner, ease of use is more important to you than going fast and you probably won't be learning to ride in a powder field, so your stats suggest to me an ideal range of 145-150cm. My wife is about 5'4" and 125lbs and she rides a 150. I'm 5'11" and 155lbs and I a few years ago dropped down from a 163 to a 155 (I'm a better rider at 155). My 14 year-old son is currently about the same height as his mother and a bit lighter, so he rents a 145. You'd be fine learning on his board, but you might want a slightly longer one later on.Brand doesn't matter. No manufacturer really restricts themselves to the beginner market, so just go for one whose graphics you like. What may be more important and hasn't been mentioned yet is the board profile. Traditional boards are cambered, which means that if you put it down on a flat floor the board touches the ground just outside the bindings and then arches up in the middle. In recent years rocker boards have become fashionable and these are shaped more like a banana so that the board touches the ground in the middle and then rocks from one end to the other. The profile has a significant impact on the way the board turns on different types of snow and what suits you best is ultimately a case of trial and error, so if you have the opportunity to try a few different ones I would take it. Hybrids of these profiles also exist such as Burton's Flying-V models (similar to the camber combination shown below). If you aren't able to try some different boards for yourself I'd recommend a traditional camber, but others will disagree.

Volcom women snowboard jacket sizing?

Anyone familiar with the sizing of Volcom women's snowboard jackets? Do they run big, small, etc? All my previous jackets have been women mediums, but according to Volcom's sizing I'm supposed to be a large and while I don't mind a bit baggy, I don't want the jacket to be too big. Insights are appreciated!

Do snowboard jackets tend to run big?

I've been wanting to order a snow jacket for the winter coming up.
I think I need a size xs, but I'm scared that it might not fit me or wont feel loose.
The size chart on Zimtstern's site says that the measurement is not of the jacket, but the measurements of the model wearing it.

The size xs is.. bust:32in waist:25.5in hip:35.5in armpit to wrist:22in height:5''2
My measurements are: bust:31.5in waist:26.5in hip:34.5in armpit to wrist:21in height:5''3

Also: I will not be growing taller anytime soon.

So my two questions are...
a) Extra Small or Small?
b) do Snow jackets tend to be larger than normal fleece jackets?

Thanks in advance!

First time buyer, what snowboard should I get?

I'm looking at buying a snowboard, boots and bindings. but i don't know which to get. I've only been riding for a few months, right now I'm into the cruising down the mountain. I ride goofy and what I like to do is switch stances, go from riding on my heels to my toes.
I'm 5'11" and I ride a 160 (ive tried out a 154-159 and a 161 and I like the 160 the most), my shoe size is 9 1/2.
Any suggestions on what board I should get? And will any boot work?
Also, if I get a 160cm board do I get size medium bindings or size large bindings?

Is a size 148 snowboard too short for a 5'8 150lb newb lad like myself?

i borrowed my friend's 156 cm GNU snowboard, and i found it very hard to control and that it wore me out when i tried to initiate turns and stuff, but it could also be that i'm a big time newbie.

i found a great deal on a snowboard for $70 but they only have size 148... according to most size charts, they recommend about 150-151 for me. is 148 too short such that it will mess up my learning experience?

i don't plan to do crazy tricks, jumps or rails. i just want to enjoy the ride down the slopes with as little effort as possible. i don't care about going down fast.
