Is Obamacare good or bad?

Overall the Affordable Care Act is good. Without a public option, however, it is flawed legislation. The public option didn't survive the battle in Congress and that has done a disservice to the American public.

Businesses and individuals should have the option of purchasing insurance from the government, instead of only from insurance companies. That would provide a form of cost control or at least cost comparison. It would also help government revenues. Our choices have been limited by Republican opposition (and Lieberman) and that is not a good thing. We should not let this possible choice go unaddressed in the future.

Conservatives: how do you define "small government"?

Conservatives and tea partiers keep raving about having a "small government"... but do you know what you even mean by that? so... what does "small government" mean to you??? why is one area of the government more important than the other? for example why do we need so much spending on our military and so little on education? our military spending is HUGE! why are no conservatives complaining about that? clearly no one can take over the US... so why are we still spending almost 7 times more on military than the next highest country?

IMPORTANT: please don't just parrot over Obama insults or rephrase Fox News talking points... I'm interested in THE ACTUAL parts of government that you think should be increased or decreased...

Why is Obama a traitor to America?

In response to OPs additional question, yes the military has had the authority to detain American citizens indefinitely without trial prior to December 31, 2011. See the Japanese American internment during World War 2.

Why couldn’t Stephen Miller answer when asked, “Can you point to a single instance when the president asked Congress for money, Congress refused to give him that money and the president then invoked national emergency powers to get the money”?

The president has the authority to transfer funds, and the authority to build under the 1976 legislation. Congress can limit him if it really does not want him to spend the money. It merely requires a majority of both houses.Congress has been refusing to do a congressionally mandated job of the federal government, namely the protection of the borders of the USA. This is because it clearly benefits one party over another to allow for illegal nimmigration. But the federal government does not advance the needs of a party, it protects the whole nation. No state can do it. No private entity, no public non-profit. It is uniquely the responsibility of the federal.government ro protect the borders. And the failure of the government to do that which has been requested by the Border Patrol for years, which is supported by surveys and studies and which is the earnest desire of tens of millions of Americans, and which costs such a small amount that it can be funded by small transfers of unused funds, means it is falls in the category of emergency action. This will inevitably go to the Supreme Court. But if you want to stop it, just defund it. If you believe Congress is not willing to fund this barrier, then have the vote. It is simple, and only requires a majority vote in both houses.Or are you really sure that Congress will not allow him to build the wall?
