So I Got A Puppy Yesterday

I just got a new puppy yesterday. She is an 8 week old Cockimo (Cocker Spaniel x Eskimo).?

You have a mutt breed by a puppy mill or a BYB which means you have a poorly breed mutt at that as no responsible breeder would mix breeds. You need to research both breeds to find any information you can and expect both the best and worst of either breed.

I got my puppy yesterday, and she still hasn't peed or eaten. Does anyone know why?

I agree on getting her to a vet, and since today is Friday, I'd make sure the puppy gets seen today, or tomorrow morning at the latest. Chances are this is stress related, but you don't want to wait until Monday to get her seen. And with a tiny puppy, you need to make sure that the lack of interest in food isn't something besides the stress. The passing gas and whining is the part that would concern me a bit.

My 6 month old puppy died yesterday?

I'm so sorry for your loss. Having lost a puppy myself 3 years ago, I know how you feel

I've lost dogs in the past and I lost one puppy. My other dogs were 112 and 12 1/2 and had lived a long, and happy lives. and it hurt when I lost them them, but it hurt more when I lost my puppy because she never had a chance at life.

I I adopted her from a Shelter and didn't know that had Distemper when I adopted her. My consolation is that she didn't die alone, unwanted or unloved.

You have to try and remember that puppy was also loved, too. I know that's not easy, but in time, it will get better.

I'm sure that your puppy is at The Rainbow Bridge with my puppy where we both see them again some day. Right now they are probably having a good time together running and playing.

Your puppy will live forever in your heart where she will always hold a special place.

I'm going to give you some links that hopefully will help you through this difficult time. I know that they helped me. . The first two are for The Rainbow Bridge and the others are places where you can put a free memorial for your puppy.

Again, my deepest condolences.

Got a new puppy from kennel yesterday and giving to a friend for a week. Will he be fine when I take him back?

46 Days Old Puppy is too young to separate from her mother,1 week while is less time, it is still formative time for dog, since puppy is so young, it can from a bond with your friend and cry for him,I would wait till 72 days to Separate puppy from Mother, or known environment,You need to give Puppy time to adjust also, you leave him to friends place then if you come back first spent one hour with puppy, second day let him roam free for two hours at your home, then one afternoon, and then bring his cage to home and let him spend time, and then take him for food and entire day, and then subsequently take him to your home, so puppy will not feel isolated,Dogs could be very sensitive and can cry and be sad,

My puppy dog suddenly can't walk yesterday she was fine I dont know what is the reason?

Witnessing your dog become suddenly weak in the legs and unable to stand on their own can be very concerning and scary. It can happen naturally with age, or can be caused by an event or illness. Some common causes are:ParalysisGeriatric vestibular syndromeDegenerative myelopathyBotulismIn most cases, inability to stand is a serious issue that can affect your dog in their everyday life. It can be the sign of the beginning of something serious, and vet intervention is usually necessary. Some of the causes can be dangerous and, in some cases, life threatening, so learning the symptoms of some of the serious illnesses is important. If your dog is showing difficulty standing, do not overlook it.Inability or reluctance to stand or perform everyday actions can be serious as it can be caused by a severe disease. Any dog can suddenly become unbalanced or paralysed, although some can be affected more easily than others due to their age or breed. It can be caused by a number of reasons that are all serious and should be dealt with immediately.Veterinary experts can guide you how to take care of your dogs or who are first time pet owners. 121with is such a platform that can help you to meet Online Veterinary Experts for solving your pets issues by setting an audio or video call from comfort of your home .

We got a fully toilet trained puppy 3 weeks ago and yesterday she started peing inside again.help.?

Do NOT use pee pads. This teaches your dog that it is ok to go in the house and confuses him.

Always keep him in the same room as you so you can keep an eye on him. If he wanders too much get a leash and tie him near you so you can watch. As soon as he starts to go tell him no no no no and run him outside. When he goes outside praise him. As he becomes more trustable you can let him have 2 rooms at a time and eventually you won't need to watch him at all.

If you can't watch him or are gone put him in a crate. Make sure the crate is only bid enough for him to lie down, turn around and stand up in. Also don't put any blankets or stuff like that in there until he learns. Otherwise the pee gets soaks up and he doesn’t care that he messed his crate. Most dogs will not go where they sleep. This will also set your dog up for success. Since he can't go in the house because he is in a crate or being watched and corrected then he won't have a chance to get away with and think, well, if mommy's not home I can pee on the carpet! and it will take much longer to re-train the more often he goes.

Do not leave his water or food out. After he eats or drinks find out how long it will take for him to have to go. Then get him outside when he'll need to go and reward him for going potty outside.

Take him out before bed and before going in his crate, and don't give him food or water 2 hours before bed or being in a crate for a few hours.

When he is searching for a spot repeat a cue phrase like get busy, or go potty. Your dog will learn to relieve itself on command. Very handy in rain or snow!

Good luck!

Yesterday there was an accident and a stray dog got hit. I took the dog to the doctors. Should I keep it?

First of all, thank you for taking the pup to the vet. I hope he recovers soon.Coming to your question whether or not you should keep the pup. Well, only you can decide that but I can try help you with that.Keep the pup if,You have time to take care of him. Or somebody else at home can do that.your pocket allows you to do that. Dogs vaccinations and neutering/spaying cost considerable amount of money. But, you can visit government veterinary hospital. Vaccinations should cost less there. You or any other family member doesn't mind waking up at night when pup cries for attention. Pups wake up at night a lot, until they get used to their new surroundings. You have kids who understand the difference between an animal and a toy. If you have kids, you will have to teach them how to handle pup that young. They should not treat him like a toy. Believe me I have seen this happening and parents usually don't do much about it. Such a shame. From the picture it seems like the breed of the pup is Indian Pariah. Pups of this breed make very good pets. They socialise easily and are good with kids. They cost relatively less to maintain. I currently have 3 such dogs and I cannot be more happy. It's ok to be a little apprehensive before keeping a pet for the first time. Seeing your act, I can safely assume that you will love your pet a lot. And love is all they need from us.

I got a husky/peirenese pup yesterday. They said hes 4 weeks but he seems blind, is that b/c hes still so young?

I am a Veternary Technician... The general guideline is that puppies stay with their mother until 6-8 weeks of age.. The mother provides some certain preventative measures against illness as well as the nutrient rich milk.

A) Don't worry about what these people are saying...the dog isn't going to die unless it already has some horrible disease already.

B) You need to feed it some soft canned puppy food moistened with milk and give it a daily vitamin supplement like nutrical ( at any pet store). Make sure you cover its kennel with a towel to avoid drafts and put a hot water bottle or blanket inside to help it maintain it's temp.

C) Get it vaccinated as soon as possible. Preferably at 6 weeks...the longer they go without it, the more risk of a serious infection or disease...

If you don't have money for a vet, consider returning the dog. You will need time, patience and money to care for this pet. ( Also, don't bother reporting the people to the SPCA, they did nothing wrong)

My dog was bitten by a stray dog yesterday. My dog was vaccinated 3 months ago; Is there any possibility my dog can get rabies?

There is a possibility. It's a very slim possibility but with every vaccine ever created they cannot put a guarantee on it. The stray would have to be symptomatic for rabies to be passed. Your vet might suggest a booster shot just for good measure. If the stray cannot be quarantined that would be the best way to go about taking care of the situation. Better to be safe than sorry especially with our four legged family members.

Do dogs dig their own grave? My dog died yesterday at the age of 13, and and a few days prior, I saw him in the garden digging a hole. A friend also told me that dogs dig their own grave.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. Every dog is a special light in our lives.Dogs do seem to want to be hidden from their family when they are gravely ill. And the unusual digging of a ‘grave’ does happen. I have heard that from other people with similar personal experience. And this is not random hole digging because it happens with dogs that have never had an interest in digging a hole. Some dogs dig holes. Most do not.I can testify to this because I have witnessed it with my own dog when I was a child. My dog disappeared after holding every larger male dog in the neighbourhood at bay while his girlfriend was indoors and in heat. I called him and knew he would come running if he was nearby. He was missing meals. I found him in a hole he dug in dirt under the porch. (Someone suggested that he may have dug a den to die in peace. Just what a kid needs to hear.) I called him. He wouldn't leave. Finally my Dad had to get him out. He had a nasty gash on his abdomen. We took him to the vet. I don't know what, if anything, he was given but we were told to soak his belly in a solution of Epsom Salts daily. So my parents got the antique galvanized steel wash tub outside half filled with water heated by kettles and hot tap water. He made a complete turn around within a week.My brother's old cat did the same thing. But he dug a hole in the fabric underneath the sofa to make a death bed. Don't discount the instinct of animals or their intelligence.I believe your dog simply was following his instinct to die in peace and perhaps to save face by not looking weak in front of his beloved pack.
