Why is it so hard to stay motivated when making telemarketing calls Business to Business?

it is hard to stay motivated when you have to make telemarketing calls period. telemarketing is hard. even inbound. i tried both outbound and inbound. ... i don't know.. i would rather wash dishes all day long

i once worked for a liquidation company. was making lots of calls around the u.s.a. and canada. was getting some response, but was wasting most of my time on leaving messages to people that don't have what i wanted. then i figured out the way how to make those companies who are looking to sell what i was looking to buy contact me. i joined all kinds of online groups, message boards, and set up a small website on a free hosting. i don't work there anymore, but till this day the website is bringing all the potential contacts.

Did I get hired? I received a call to go to Orientation on Sunday morning?

Yes you have the job. Orientation is a group event for all new hires. You will fill out paperwork, watch a video, take a tour of the store, learn to use the time clock, etc. You should bring your Driver's license and social security card to orientation. You should also bring a voided check so that you can sign up for direct deposit. You will learn when your training will start at orientation. Make sure to show up on time so that you make a good impression and do not miss anything. Not everyone who attends orientation will still be employed in 90 days.

What will help lower back pain from standing on hard floor at work?

Alot of great answers.
If you stand in one spot like at a counter or register you can use a rubber mat to soften where you are standing (I notice most big stores like home depot or grocery store workers use these to make it easier on their backs.
Also, here's a back belt you can wear under your shirt and no one will see it: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/product/CrFt7000
You can also use heat or ice at home or during a break to relax your back muscles: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/page/663714
For those rubber like mats, they might sell them at home depot but usually at a sporting good store or the sporting section of target or walmart possibly.
Also, you may want to get your low back spine and muscles checked because there may be something going on that's making you have pain besides just the hard floor. You may want to visit a chiropractor.

I got into sales by being a server on my feet for 8+ hours and then working retail. Now I work doing sales development in downtown Chicago and still choose to stand at my desk, because it’s the posture I’m most used to selling in.You can make it, but you have to do a few things:Exercise - Just do it. Just exercise. Run, do squats, work out your back, do full body lifts. Go lift, just do it. Kettlebell swings if you literally can’t do anything else. Doing this will develop the muscular structure that will prevent fatigue and allow your muscles to shift the load through the day, especially in your lower back.Wear shoes that provide the proper support, consider buying additional support - I had arch support in my shoes during most of my longest standing days. Consider buying shoes for standing specifically (i never did) and any additional support like gel insoles, orthotics, arch support and other straps or socks to assist.Keep moving - Don’t just stand, move around. Walk, stretch, move around, shift weight. Moving prevents the blood from pooling and counters the effects of fatigue.Stay focused on the job by continuing to look for opportunities to add value - You want to get promoted? You want to CRUSH your numbers? You want the day to fly by? The key is staying in the zone and staying open to making things happen for your job and your prospects. After your physical well being is taken care of you’ll find that staying on your feet and moving around is a GREAT way to keep motivated to crush it in your job.Like my thoughts? Standing up all day and flat feet?

It will get better over time in general, as you get used to standing up so much. Cheap shoes are the worst thing you can buy. You may need to see a professional to get orthotics (custom-made shoe inserts) but I'd try a brand of shoe insert first. I have found reeboks to be the most comfortable shoes ever. I hope someone else can answer about the exercises but when I worked at Target last Christmas I would go into the most private bathroom, take off my shoes and socks really fast and press my sore feet onto the cool floor-that really helped.

I just accepted a job at Target, BUT.....?

I worked at Target over the holidays and it was my intent to only stay there a month or two and I ended up there 6 months or more. What is happening here is that people are seeing your potential to be a supervisor. I didn't tell anyone at Target I had a degree, but it was funny to me to hear all the young people talk about how they were getting a degree so they could get out of Target and then they found out I had one already. LOL!!! Anyway, having friends at work is over rated, it makes it harder to take over as their manager. Just do your job and learn. If every one "has it" then look for the returns, go the front for the code blues and just show the hustle. I had the same problem and when I had to quit - because I had a full time job at the IRS over night and was so tired, they begged me to stay and talked about advancing. Don't let them break you...there could be something better ahead. Still don't stop looking for something else. The economy sucks but what does down must go back up!
Best of luck to you!!!
