So Is It Bad That I Hate High School

DO YOU OR DID YOU HATE HIGH SCHOOL?

Yea, i did.
I hated high school.

I was very depressed, used to self-harm (not strictly cutting), VERY suicidal.
Had low self-esteem.
Ended up in a mental hospital for 10 days near the end of my Senior year.
My home life wasn't so great..

Not fun.
Not fun at all.

Is it bad that I hate school?

I suppose it depends on why you hate it. If you hate learning anything, hate being exposed to new ideas, that’s a bad thing. If you hate learning information in which you have no interest and that takes your time away from what you really want to learn, I think that’s understandable. If you hate having to follow a bunch of stupid, arbitrary, degrading rules, like asking permission to use the restroom, that’s understandable.Personally, I HATED high school and middle school but I loved college so much I earned four degrees. The differences between high school and college were - FREEDOM to choose what courses I took, freedom to choose whether I went to class at all, lack of students who wasted everyone’s time by disrupting class, lack of procedures like taking attendance, school assemblies, etc. that wasted everyone’s time. In my experience, many community colleges are just like high school with ash trays, but attending even a mildly selective college is a much better experience than high school.

I hate high school?

This perfectly describes my first day of high school. I felt so alone and it seemed that everyone else fit in perfectly. It was like upperclassmen had forgotten that they too had been a freshman before. Keep in mind that you have an entire class of students in the same year as you and the majority probably feel the same way you do. Who knows, maybe a fellow student at your school is writing a question similar to this right now. Everyone goes through this so don't feel isolated. As the weeks progress you'll meet new people whether you want to or not, it's just destined to happen. These next 4 years will mean nothing in the big scheme, whether everyone knows you or no one does. Once you're in the real world, your level of popularity will mean nothing. I hated freshmen year too which is why I spent that time discovering myself and I stopped caring what others thought. I'm not gonna lie the year was hard at times, but I made it through and you will too.

I hate high school so much :(?

I am in grade 9 too, i hate it as well. I cried every night and i had countless amounts of anxiety attacks. I over think all the time too. Guess what??? think about it like this: just 5 more months, and your summer break will BEGIN. then in grade 10, just think "thank god i'll be out of this shitty place in two years" Everything is temporary, sure i have anxiety now, but sometimes you have to go through the worst days to realize the best. I have anxiety during lunch, i just want everything to end. but we both have to realize that it shouldn't get us down! we have so much to look forward too! a new car, jobs, college, etc. It will be over soon, and i know everyday feels like a year, but if you keep these things in mind we can both get through it! we are stronger than that, school shouldn't run our life, we should! btw if you ever feel sad, don't worry I'm going through it just like you, you can email any of your probs SCREW HIGHSCHOOL :) btw, consider online schooling, i am going to do that in gr 11/ 12. or get your courses done faster so you can graduate early

I hate high school so far! plz help!?

Dont worry!! when i started high school, i moved from a different district and i only knew like 5 people!!, and to top all of that off, one 1 of my friends was in one of my classes! also, everyone else had already gone to the same middle school and had known eachother for forever! the first week or two was definetly the hardest, cause everyone is worried about starting high school. But after that, everything becomes more chill, and people are more open. I found that because i didnt belong to a "clique" or group before, i am now able to transition between and hang out with a bunch a different people, which is rele cool, to say the least. dont worry, as the year goes on, you'll make more friends and become rele close. trust me, thats what i had to overcome! next year, you'll probably also Meet a bunch of people that you didn’t kno before in your classes, which is also good, because it’s a great way to meet new people! So overall, I would say not to worry! Just act genuine and kind and show them your awesome personality! I’m sure you’ll do fine and learn to love high school (for the most part!) lol :P peace, and good luck! hope this helped!
(also, try to have as much fun as possible before junior yr... it is definetly the hardest year of them all!!)

Why do I have such intense hate for high school?

You hate high school because it is incredibly stupid. At the time in your life when you are developing your independence, you are forced to spend entire days in an environment that rewards rule following. You have little say in choosing your classes because curriculum requirements have been determined by others. Due to tenure, it's likely that many of your teachers hate teaching and dealing with teens, they are just passing time until retirement. High schools also focus on meaningless things like school spirit and team sports, and popularity contests like prom queen. It's an artificial environment with no connection to your personal goals BUT getting through it usually has an impact on your future opportunities so look on it as a challenge you must deal with to move forward successfully in life. Many people hate high school, you are not alone.

How can I not hate high school?

Once you realize how this is the point in your life where you will have the smallest amount of responsibility it gets to be easy and even fun. High school is set up so that failure is nearly impossible, you get a diploma if you attended school enough times. So have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to go to events alone. If there is a huge basketball game and you want to check it out, don’t feel like you need a best friend at your side. Do what makes you happy with yourself, and know that if others talk that they clearly aren’t focused enough on their own lives and are looking for other things to justify their own actions. No one needs to live a life any certain way, it just seems like there is more of a social construct in high school.Always be smart about your decisions of what will make you happy, and mine may get you into some trouble but here are some examples of what made high school memorable for me: sneaking out, having a first time for everything, visiting a diner in the middle of the night, seeing midnight movies, joining too many clubs, driving as far as your parent’s gas tank will go, and making each fast food place a hangout spot.I recommend making a bucket list of everything you may want to do in high school and really trying to cross them all off before you graduate. Take weird classes and make cool friends that will help you with it!I hope you end up loving high school, because I hated it for two years. I thought it was the worst time of my life before I could really see it actually was the best. After my sophomore year I embraced all that is high school and now that I am two years out of high school I would give anything to try one more week out.Good luck!

Am I the only one who hates high school?

Yes!Everybody loves or loved high school except you. Every single person. It's amazing that you are the very first, actually, and I think it'll make one of the great moments of the year, nay, millennium.I mean, what's not to love about being in the most turbulent period of your mental and physical development while your moods constantly change, whilst being surrounded by other people experiencing the same thing, in an institution you are forced to go to, which has many meaningless and arbitrary rules, where some of your most scarring memories will undoubtedly be formed?Damn, I miss the total lack of freedom and authoritarian rule of certain teachers, blended carefully with a complete disinterest from some others, which you can enjoy at the same time as other students group together and mock or humiliate you for some unchangeable aspect of your personality or appearance.Plus all the homework on subjects you'll never need or look at again in life, and all that sleep you won't be having, and it's clear that not only should everyone love high school, everyone really does!Except you though, weirdo!(hope my sarcasm isn't taken too seriously, just joking around!)

Is it normal to hate high school girls?

Oh hi,

I just want to ask: Is it okay to hate high school girls? I don't mean all of them, I mean the majority of them. They think the same way, they talk about the same things, they dress the same, and yet they claim that they're individuals, the only things I see different about them are their names and body. And as I said before, there are some exceptions, but most of them seem the same to me. The same, but different so to speak. Is this normal to think this way?

Yes, I'm male, but I'm not sexist, I only apply this to MOST HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS. So, is this normal?

Why does high school suck so bad?

Personally, I thought it was better than middle school. Life does get better after high school, though; don't worry.
