So Is The Plan To Keep The Workers And Let The Rest Of Us Go - Society Only For Those Business Can

Should businesses provide health care to employees?

Should they? Yes. Should they be forced to? No. I am a small business owner - I can not afford to pay insurance coverage for my 2 employees. Forcing me to do so would mean that those 2 would be out of a job....

Do you think the American prison system needs reform?

What would you do to change the US prison systems. So many people talk down about places like Abu Ghraib, but many do not realize some of our prisons are about the same. Hives of gang activity, disease spreading, violence, murder, rape, and more. Best of all, the prison staff usually ignores what goes onm, because after all those criminals aren't human, are they? Dehumanizing people because of one or two misdeeds is downright cruel.

Over 3% of the adult population is in prison, and the percent is rising. Over half of the released criminals are repeat offenders. Other than some social changes we need in society, how do you think we can stop this?

Here are some of my suggestions.

1. Stop punishing victimless crime. Don't punish the alcoholic, punish the drunk who goes driving.
2. Allow criminals to return to society without a social stigma. They paid their debt.
3. Offer rehab programs instead of incarceration. Do you want to watch people sit in time out and fraternize with other criminals, or redeem them?
4. Stop with the death penalty. Either exile the worst offenders, or build a place where they can be housed for life outside of our society.
5. Give government jobs to criminals that caused damage so they can pay back the victims plus interest. They do no good to anyone rotting in a cell.
6. Do something about the current law system so justice isn't always based on who has the best lawyer. Otherwise big businesses, politicians, and rich people will usually be above the law, and poorly represented people will always suffer the full slap of the long arm of the law.

*sigh* I only hope that one day the US Government will do something about this. I only wish I knew how to help...

How can I contribute towards society?

There are many ways through which you can contribute to society and its development. 1) Performing your duties honestly is the simplest and best way through which everybody can contribute.  Duties would encircle all types of duties- official, moral, political etc.  A beautiful short film by Allu Arjun says it all-2) Donate. My family has this little ritual, on birthdays or anniversaries, we donate something. Donation is not restricted to money only. It can be your time, blood, books, food etc. 3) Try to keep your surroundings clean. Swachchha Bharat :-)4) If you have some time, go to an NGO, just talk to the people in there. I am sure you will find many new ways after hearing their stories.5) Pass on the knowledge you have. Make people aware about various things.6) Take a lead to solve a problem. Take initiative to change what you feel is wrong in society. For an example, if you think, women are not respected in India, YOU be the one who respects them. Charity and CHANGE both begin at home. :-)Thank You Ashish Johri for A2A.

Is working a waste of your life?

Working for others - Yes! Working for yourself - No!When you work for others you help achieve other people dreams and goals. So you are wasting all your life and time. Yes, you get paid. But what’s the point? Money isn’t so valuable. You are living other people plan not yours. Most valuable thing ever is your TIME! Sometimes seems people have forget it.However when you work for yourself you don’t waste your time. You live your own plan. You are doing things for yourself. Do what you love in your life! Then you ask “ But why then everyone don’t work for themselves?”Because it’s easier to work for others. It’s not so challenging. You just do the job and you get paid.Life structure for most of people is - Go to school - go to college - get job (most of time working for others ) - working rest of their lives - create family - die.You know you have the power to change it and build your own life structure! Think outside of the box!I think you could work for others only for one reason - to make a living while you are working on your own thing at the beginning. And if you go work for others for some time, search the job that’s is related to your passion, dream. The job from you can learn things that will help you to build your own thing! You work full time on your job. Part time on your own thing. When you earn from your part time thing as much as you earn from your full time job change it.Work Part time on your full time job and part time of your own thing. When you earn 2x more in your own part time thing then job leave the job and live your passion full time rest of your life!

Wives: Would you let your husband go to a Fancy Company Christmas Party without you?

Maybe it is my own insecurity thats holding me back from going. I am sure if I told him that I really wanted to go, then he would be happy about it.. but I worry about my weight. I also, have a broken jaw.. its weird like the right side of my jaw drops down and isnt leveled with the other side. So, when I smile it looks like I have a crooked smile. he says it doesnt bother him and that he loves me. But, I dont want him to be embarrassed of me in front of his boss and co-workers. :(

I honestly dont believe hes cheating on me, but I dont know...

Why Will Companies Keep Offering Health Insurance?

Well, some particularly prosperous employers, in businesses that demand certain high-demand skills, would certainly still offer superior health benefits (as well as stock options and multimillion dollar bonuses) to those sorts of employees.

Asside from that, though, you could expect most employers to cut costs by eliminating health benefits on the theory that the government will pick it up.

Currently, health insurance is a highly desireable benefit, so much so that many people take a specific job /just/ to get health insurance, even if the pay is substantially lower than another job without insurance. There are several reasons. 1) Many people who have 'pre existing conditions' can't get affordable health insurance outside a 'group' plan like that offered by an employer, 2) Many people have lived thier whole lives insured, and virtually panic without insurance, since they simply don't understand how to make health care decisions and manage thier own health care expenses, 3) (and this is a biggie), employer-provided health insurance is automatically deducted, pre-tax. It's not just a 'deduction' (you can deduct a lot of your medical expenses, but it's complicated, and you don't get to deduct all of them), but an off-the-top exclusion. It's income you never have to report, at all.

Is it worth living in the United States as an Indian immigrant, with so many limitations in terms of immigration and business? India and the US do not share good bilateral relations with Indian citizens, either.

I’ve not lived in the US but have been there for several short stays. Based on the below points, one can decide which place suits them better. There is hardly any labor in US. Everyone does most manual work themselves. This is a good thing.Roads are wide and people have great lane discipline. Driving here is easier.People are warm and welcoming. There is also great diversity. Its so clean and tidy everywhere. People don’t litter, spit etc.Lots of trees and less pollution.Safe, very little racism and equal society.Better salary standards and work quality in most cases. All the above sounds great. The photos on Facebook look awesome. People may brag that they are in the most developed nation in the world.BUT… The below are also true especially for someone coming from IndiaLonelinessThe first thing anyone coming from India realizes is that India is so LIVELY. Here they would feel lonely, roads are empty, nobody walks and its deadly quiet all over. Its like suddenly the world is in mute mode.So if you have no family/friends, think twice or you may end up in depression.SpiritualityIndia, with all its chaos feels spiritual. US has no chaos, but it feels like something is missing. Life would feel monotonous, robotic and materialistic.India has that special vibe and its colorful - that would be missing here.FoodThere is a great number of Indian restaurants here. However it cannot beat food in India at least in terms of sheer variety. You may miss street food like pani poori or even Indian chai.Family rootsIf you have a deep family bonding and have roots and/or quite inclined to Indian culture, US would turn out to be a bummer. If you want your kids to grow up the Indian way, better leave early. If not, just accept their American way of living. If neither, they might be stressed/confused.Times when you would miss India the mostWhen you fall sick. The more serious the illness, more you would miss India. The very thought that you have concerned people around would give you some relief.Festivals - No matter what, (Indian) festivals’ celebration is not the same or no where close here as compared to India.Family get together/occasion in India.
