How to stop obsessing over anime and manga!?

Okay, so, this might come of as weird and I am embarassed, but: how can I stop obsessing over anime and manga? I've been watching anime and reading manga since I was 11 and I am now 17. I've watched all of Inu-Yasha (including all 4 movies), Bleach (up to now; including the movies), Death Note (including the live-action films and I've even read the book "L Saves the World" and "The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" back-to-back), Naruto (original series and some of Shippuden), FullMetal Alchemist, Blood+, Rurouni Kenshin, Salior Moon, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Welcome to the NHK, etc., and now I'm stuck on One Piece! So addicted, in fact, I'm on Episode 502 and ive only been watching it for a week and a half! And I've even started searching to watch all 10 films back-to-back! Don't even get me started on how many mangas I've read... :/
Everytime I finish an anime series and manga series I become depressed because I feel like I connect with the characters and story and imagine myself in them...which is ABNORMAL....!
How can I stop this obsession? Is this abnormal? All my friends watch anime and read manga. How can I just STOP this obsession FOREVER before I start going looney and wishing that this world was like anime because animes and mangas are utopias and this world is far from a utopia...

PLEASE...is this normal at all!? How can I stop this! Are there others like this...? What's your advice? Please don't say I need to see a therapist, I don't have the time nor the money...

How can I stop? :(
Thanks for those who answer honestly...your answers mean everything. :I

I've been looking for new manga to read. Is there any recommendations from you guys? I'm more into action/adventure genres.

I have absolutely no idea as to what manga you have read till now. For this answer I'll consider you to be a complete newbie to the world of manga. My first choice would be One Piece. One of the longest running and best selling manga. One piece is a story involving pirates and marines. The protagonist is the pirate Luffy who sets out to search for the legendary treasure - One Piece. It has plenty of action, humour and some really memorable characters. My next choice would be Full metal alchemist. It's a true masterpiece. This manga is about two brothers who can perform alchemy and are in search of the philosopher’s stone.Hunter X Hunter is also a really good manga. The only problem is that it's on an infinte hiatus.World Trigger is a pretty good shonen manga with scifi aspects. If you are okay with gory stuff i would suggest Berserk and Gantz - Two of my favourite seinen action manga.Dragonball and Rurouni kenshin are also obvious manga that come to mind.Other good manga include Naruto (involves Ninjas), Toriko (Has Gourmet hunters searching for New foods), Bleach(Shinigami), Tokyo Ghoul (Ghouls. Duh!), Boku no hero academia (Superheroes and stuff), Kingdom.Magi is also a pretty good adventure manga. But it has less action than the above mentioned manga.Ranma 1/2, Yu Yu Hakusho and JoJo’s bizarre adventures are other classics.Fairy Tail gets a special mention for being my first manga. Fairy Tail is a manga about wizards.Do try Gintama. It's like a parody of all other manga. But now that i think of it, it would be better to read it after reading other manga.Nearly forgot about Shingeki no Kyojin. Hands down it's one of the best manga in recent times. Plenty of action and suspense. My last suggestion would be One Punch man, in which the protagonist is a superhero who defeats all villains with a single punch and is now bored with life. It has been increasing in popularity exponentially and has great potential.

Writing Anime/Manga Script?

Before you start a story, you should think about the place, the time, what kind of genre (romance, shounen, shoujo, 'slice of life', etc.). Once you have that settled, you'll have to start creating characters. A main character, the protagonist, and a side character, the antagonist. Aside of those two, you can create as many characters as you want to, but that's up to you. But the two are neccesary. When you're creating your protagonist, just make a small character sheet, with the age, clothes, colours, maybe hobbies, 'abnormalities', stuff like that. Same goes for the antagonist.

Describe as MANY things as you can - the town, the era, the atmosphere - everything. It will only make it easier for you when you're starting your story later on, because you need a basis.

The next step is to come up with a situation. It can be anything, depending on what you chose as your genre. Basically you have everything settled now, so you can start your storyline.

Don't rush, everytime you created - let's say - a chapter, you should read it over a few times, and see, and be sure to be fully satisfied with it, otherwise you will regret it in the end.

Anime and manga has been my interest for years now, and I also draw. I've got an art page where you can see all of my drawings. (See source) Maybe you can get a little inspirated and motivated if you look at them. There are also a lot of other anime artists, so you can just look around freely to see what others are up to.

I hope this will help you out a little ^ w ^

Oh, and don't worry about your drawing skills - they will definitely improve as you get older, if you practise. You're still young, and you're on your way.

I feel so depressed after watching anime. I have no idea what is wrong...?

Okay...I bought Yu Yu Hakusho recently and now i am almost done with the whole series. I was so happy when i first bought it and now... i feel really down. Some symptoms i am feeling from this are

A racing Heart
Feeling Empty
Becoming happy and then sad in a few short moments
I get headaches
I begin to shake
I have fatigue
It feels like i have a broken heart
And there are times i feel i have anger.
At night, i tend to cry about things that should never upset me.

I mean, i love Yu Yu Hakusho so much but at the same time, i feel very angry about it. Sometimes i feel as though i wished i had made that anime. That is probably what i am feeling. (See...i love to draw and i write stories and for majority of my life, i had hoped i could be a manga artist or a voice actor) But then also...there is another side of this so-called 'Depression' that i am getting. I keep feeling that i don't have time anymore in the world and that i will never see anime again. Maybe i am just thinking way to ahead for my life. (I am only 20!) I keep getting these thoughts of the end of the world and me not fulfilling my life.

Is there something wrong with me? Am i suffering from a mental breakdown? Depression? Is this just a side effect from watching this anime? I mean, this has never happened before and i have watched plenty of good animes as well. I hope someone can help me.

I have already asked a few friends and they believe i am suffering from a panic attack. I have no idea. someone please help me.

I could also be suffering from not being able to draw like i use to. I still want to try and make a manga but i know it will never get published. (Probably i am depressed because i don't have a good enough career and i have no job...)

How realistic is it to produce good quality anime (and manga) without knowing how to draw?

Details from the question “ However, I have talent in story writing. Let’s say the story is perfect and would fit the anime very well… Except I don’t know how to draw at all. Is it possible to create anime without drawing knowledge and still take the most credit for it? What do I do and how much budget do I need for it??”To make a book, you need to actually write a book.If you want to make anime you need to be able to make anime. What you want is for people to look at your story that is not a book or a comic or anything and put all their effort into making it for you and then graciously give you all the credit. This is not going to happen, sorry. You probably won’t be able to do this. People will often give you answers in grand terms making it seem easily achievable, but they are wrong. Consider all the following points and if you can get past all of them, then you have a chance.Story: Your story needs to hold by itself. Can you get it published? Can you get a fandom if you self publish it?Money: Animation is really expensive, a single episode can go 20.000+ USD, and that is rounding down a lot.Art: Artists are not a charity, if they can draw a comic by themselves why should they draw a comic for you unless you actually pay them? Unless you are best friends with them don’t assume they’ll just draw your story because it is cool. There’s no “Let’s say the story is perfect”, if the story does not exist yet, the story is nothing. Write it down. There’s no “I don’t know how to draw at all”, that tells me you have not tried. You can’t just give up on drawing like that! Good artist & writers no matter their age have been working at their craft for years and years. If you believe in your story, and I think you do, you should be able to put the hours working on it. It is a road of sleepless nights, frustrations and thankless work. But youll get the chance to show it and have it recognized. And then with some luck and more work you’ll get your manga and anime deals. But if you want find a shortcut, or are just waiting for it to come to you, you’ll get nothing.
