i have a eMachines Netbook (eM250 Series).... heres a picture: http://www.laptopspirit.fr/wp-content/uploads/new/acer-emachines-250-01g16i-1.jpg after i did a system restore to a certain point in time. it asked me to restart the computer..so i did. when i started up i ended up with a black screen and blinking cursor...there is no safe boot..only network boot HELP.! the laptop has no cd input so... im not sure what to do.! HELP.!?

Yes, for some reason it can't start the OS, it can't find a programme to run, get a computer shop to look at it, hopefully it is just your hard disk which will probably cost under $80 to replace (although the shop may charge for fitting and reinstalling the OS. You shouldn't have to buy the OS again because the computer is licensed to a copy so, although a computer shop may charge to install, you shouldn't have to buy a licensee.

Look for the lines at boot up: if you see lines before Windows loads, the problem is either with the video card, the video connection cable -- whether HDMI or VGA -- or the monitor itself. ... Right-click on the Desktop once Windows loads and choose “Screen Resolution.”Change the resolution just to see if the line still appears. If it does, it's the video card.If more lines appear, it's the screen or the Wiring behind the screen.One other test… if you have an external monitor, hook it up to your computer and see if lines appear on the external monitor.. if yes, it's the video card.Hope this helps

Get Rid of É on Keyboard. Find yourself typing away and go to hit the Question Mark and have É instead? press CTRL+SHIFT (press CTRL first and while holding press SHIFT, sometimes you have to do it twice in a row to disable.)
