I'm 17 and I think I love a 40 year old. Is this bad?
Wow. That’s a big age difference. I’m sure you’ve heard the theory that when a young girl is interested in older men, it’s usually due to an insufficient relationship between father and daughter. I don’t know your gender so that may not apply. When I was 35, a 25 year-old gal was perusing me and I even thought that was a little odd. She was fun, but I knew that we didn’t have much in common beyond our mutual attraction because of the 10-year difference. It didn’t work out. That said, you’ve gotten a really solid take on your situation from Mark Lee. Read that once or twice. To answer your question boldly, yes, it’s bad. You’re not of legal age, which puts the 40 year-old in a “liable” situation. If you are found alone together, even if nothing sexual occurs, that person could be charged with one of more of several violations of the law in certain conditions. Don’t put him in that position. The rather crass description of the under-age as “jail-bate” holds some truth. If the person is married, don’t be a “home wrecker”- walk away clean. But when you’re 18, and the other person isn’t married, you’ll have to reckon with a few potentially “messy” items if you’re going to proceed to cultivate a relationship….stuff like, when I’m 40 (still young) they will be 63; Most people begin to deal with some health issues around the age of 70. You’ll be 47. What if they live to be 90? That’s a long time to take care of someone you love when you are still healthy and active. Not that it can’t or shouldn’t be done, but you have to consider this stuff. What do you have in common? Do you like the same music? Do you like the same activities? Do you believe in the same things? What do you both believe about important stuff like Politics…. and God? Does the 40 year-old have kids from a previous marriage… that can get very, very complicated. In an effort to be thorough, I might as well throw in the fact that, biblically speaking, if the other person was married and has left their spouse for anything other than cheating with someone else, you would be committing adultery if you had sex with them, even if the two of you were to be married. Well I'd just like everyone to know you all lied, it IS legal in the state of Colorado as long as I;m not 10 years older than her if she is 15-16. And if she was 14 it would STILL be legal for I am not 4 years older. Yes it's possible and happening around. Well you see, he/she who's 21 will be a little mature than the 18 year old, the selection of tastes and preferences as well as priorities will be a little different, I am not emphasizing the word “Little” but you need to think about everything, if you know that 21 year old completely then there's no issue, but would that 21 year old knows you? Disputes can occur relating to different thoughts and mindset. But I don't think a 18 year old is vulnerable. Maturity doesn't always comes with the age.So hey 18 year old and 21 year oldie, you guys can make a great pair, odd numbers, as you know. So have fun, life's too short to worry about age, when we could fit together with thoughts.
Is it legal in Canada for a 16 year old to date a 30 year old?
I'm currently a 15 year old girl... Will be 16 in 30 days. Currently my boyfriend and I are illegal, so we have been lying about his age for over a month. Recently my grandma (whom I live with) found out that he is older than I have told her. - The two of us are at the same maturity level, we get along amazingly, we have so many things in common, have very little disagreements, and he has been through a lot with me in recent weeks, he was next to me at every doctors appointment when I was sick, and he tells me that he loves me every ten minutes when we're together... Anyways, nothing can really tear us apart. I'm not a stupid kid, and am just sick of being treated like one. My family has been through **** and back and I understand her freaking out about this. But in all honesty my grandma and grandpa were 13 years apart in age when they got married. From what the two of us read on the internet on the government website, it is legal once I am 16 as long as he is not in a position of trust or authority (ie. teacher, coach, priest, etc.) I know that my family will most likely freak once they know exactly how old he is but I really could care less... He takes good care of me and I love him to death. -- Don't tell me that I don't know what love is, I'm quite sure that I do, I grew up fast and no one ever believes me if I tell them that I'm 15 when they first get to know me. For most of my life I have been friends with people at least ten years older than me, I guess that's just how I was meant to be... I don't want opinions just facts please people. What was your first clue........ Well, honestly, she maybe just calling you that because she's so flattered that she has a man in her life that is 10 years younger than her. Makes her feel like a rockstar.....makes her feel younger. Take it as a compliment, until you figure out otherwise....
