So Nervous What Does It Mean When You Get A Second Job Interview

I really blew a job interview because I was so nervous, I couldn’t really think. Would a company be likely to give me another chance if I explained my anxiety?

It's not likely they will give you another chance. Interviewers do expect some nervousness, so they will be able to see through some of it.Also, we are often much harder on ourselves than others are, so you may have done better than you think. As you do more interviews, you will get better at it. So, just chalk this up to experience and resolve to do better next time. Two things that can help are more preparation and practice. For preparation, get sample interview questions from the Internet, library, or friends. Knowing what to expect will help you relax better. Then, work with a friend to practice the questions. Let them pick the questions so you don't know what they're going to ask. Have them throw in a random question of their own to try to throw you off. Record your practice as a video on a smartphone. Then watch it to get a better feel on how you're doing.Get some books from the library on interview tips and improvisational acting. Improvisation usually involves some exercises to help you think on your feet better.Familiarize yourself with ToastMasters, and maybe even join a group. They teach people how to get over their fears of public speaking and respond to audience questions, including improvisation. Those skills can help significantly with interviews. You will do much better in the next interview, I can sense it!Good Luck!

Got a second job interview at cookout?

What does this mean? What to expect? I'm so nervous I really hope I get this job. The store manager will be interviewing me this time. What is it like working at cookout?

What does getting called for a second interview usually mean?

I posted a question the other day asking whether or not I should apologize for my HORRIBLE job interview. I was nervous and awkward and didn't sell ANY of my strengths because I blanked out. The interviewer looked thoroughly disinterested. I was 100% sure I would get rejected, but now I'm not so sure. Originally, he told me he'd let me know tomorrow over the phone whether or not I got the job. But now he wants me to do a second interview tomorrow, with a different manager. What does this mean?

What to expect on my second job interview at wendy's cause I had my first one today.?

I am proud of ya Ciassy! You made a very good impression on him. I hope my "attire" & manners advice helped. Whatever you did today, do the same. Dress similar, act similar and don't forget all the Sirs, P's and Q's. May I suggest you get a plain "Thank You" card and send it to him. Write. Mr. Smith. Thank you for the opportunity, I look forward in meeting you and your staff on Wed. Regards, Ciassy Smith. Real simple but a nice touch. The impression will go a long way.

The second interview means he narrowed down his choices and you made the cut. He will be comparing you to the others he liked for the job. Projecting responsible, is important as well as being a team player. Not to shy, not loud for sure. Just be polite and try to fit in. He may walk you thru what is expected of you. Be confident! Let us know!

Good Luck girl!

What does it mean by a "pulled application" after job interview?

I applied for a job online at Dunkin Donuts and they called me for an interview the next day. I went in and had my interview last week. It was my first job interview ever so I was just a tad bit nervous. Today marks a week since, and I haven't heard anything, so I decided to do a follow-up and I just got off the phone with a manager. I told her my name, and asked if she had any information on the status of my application or if she needed any other information from me. She asked for my name again and said, "We were doing second interviews.. I had a few today," and then looked for a moment and said, "I think she has that one pulled.. I will ask her later/tomorrow and call tomorrow to let you know," to which I replied, "Okay, thank you so much." I was quite excited about landing a job there, this would be my first job, but I'm just wondering on what that would mean.. It doesn't sound good.

Would I get hired if I'm nervous in the interview?

When we were desiring to add someone to add to our staff we usually had the candidate sit separately with three or so staff members for interviews. Prior to the interviews the staff usually discussed what we were looking for in the candidate. Aside from subject knowledge we were always looking for someone that could successfully fit in with the group, i.e. friendly, kind, curious and honest. We also would always discuss how to work with a nervous candidate, for that was to be expected. We usually found that starting the interview with a joke, or explaining that we understood the candidate was nervous and that it was okay — and then offer a cup of coffee and a few questions about where they lived and whether or not they had difficulty finding the office — soft questions with a lot of smiles and encouragement. We never conducted stress interviews because we found that extremely unproductive. We worked on encouraging-type interviews to get the candidate to open up. We would do this by complimenting and expressing interest in what the interviewee had accomplished. We really tried to make it a fun experience. That way the interviewee would start gushing a little telling us more and more about their history and accomplishments. Then we allowed them to ask questions of us.If an interviewee was really nervous, we sometimes walked them around showing them the coffee bar and the restroom and where key people were worked, and sometimes sticking our heads into the office of the next person that was going to interview them.“Hey John, this is Melinda who is going to be talking with you in a while. I am showing her the place.”“Well Melinda, if you are following Jerry around he is bound to get you lost. If that happens just holler, ‘I’m lost’ and I’ll rescue you.”Laughs. Smiles. Followed by a much calmer and relaxed interview. In my opinion, being nervous is okay. Any decent interviewer should work to calm the situation so they can find out if you are indeed a fit withing the organization.

Do you feel depressed after a job interview?

Initially Yes, I used to get depressed whenever I faced rejection. However, over a period of time, I started observing things. Here is a list of things I do after every interview:Create a set of questions I was asked during the interview. I try to do it the same day so as to make sure I don’t forget the stuff.Validate the answers I gave. This is to ensure that I have the correct knowledge, and if not, I have an opportunity to improve myself. This also helps for closing the gap.Check if the same mistakes are done repeatedly. This will only happen if you have a list already created.Based on the interview, I check if I need to update my resume. Is there any refinement required? Is there anything which I have mentioned but I don’t actually know about it?Once this is done, trust me, you will feel a lot better. Moreover, these things will boost your confidence in such a way that you will be able to lead the interviewer on your choice of questions. In that situation, he/she will feel that they are interviewing you, but actually you will make them ask what you know.Keep giving your efforts and don’t worry about the outcome. People who are not trying are not failing, you are failing because you are trying. The more interviews you give, the more comfortable and confident you will become.Treat the interviewer as your friend whom you have not met in a long time. Believe me, it works like charm. Our mind is at ease, and you will come out with flying colors. You can check my other interview related answers:Shubham Goel's answer to In what types of roles does being visibly nervous in your interview hurt your chances of a job offer?Shubham Goel's answer to What should someone learn in order to get an IT job?Shubham Goel's answer to What are the best answers for 'How can we trust you that you wont leave our company as you did to your previous employer'?Shubham Goel's answer to How should I prepare for my first interview?Shubham Goel's answer to What should be the answer if the interviewer says "If I reject you in this interview then what will you do"?Shubham Goel's answer to 3 Uncommon interview Questions to Ask the interviewer?Shubham Goel's answer to What should I reply when an interviewer asks why you want to join our company?Shubham Goel's answer to What is a short and smart answer to "tell me something about yourself"?Shubham Goel's answer to What did you do when you became fed up with job searching?
