OBJECTION!! Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright series huh? XD My fav case would have to be the LAST case in Trials to Tribulation... Godot’s theme “The Fragrance of Dark-Coloured Coffee” is very good, and I will have to admit that this theme is my favourite. Should the Dark Phoenix Saga be a trilogy?
The way the X-Men movies have been handled then it should at least be a duology.The problem with the X-Men movies is they are treated as stand alone movies without much being done to build it’s shared universe. That works for characters like James Bond, where you have characters through several movies. There isn’t much in the way of character development in these stories because there doesn’t need to be. James Bond is James Bond. It doesn’t matter who plays him, the character is the same. When you adapt serialized stories the opposite is true. The original Dark Phoenix Saga is revered because the readers knew and loved the characters impacted. This Jean Grey has only appeared in one movie and that wasn’t even a big role. She was lost in the crowd and now all of her development is going to be crammed into one movie.If they split the story they could at least show Jean growing into her own in the first movie and plant the seeds for her eventual fall. The next movie(s) could show her turning into Dark Phoenix. That way, at least the story will have some impact.
What is the best movie based on a video game?
I believe there could be a good movie based on video game characters or set in a video game universe, but I haven't seen one yet. I believe it is because the mediums are too different. What makes for a great game doesn't make for a great movie. Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time came close. This was and still is one of my favorite video game franchises.In the game you get roughly 20-30 hours to become the prince as we like him. You get to control time (to avoid falling into that pit or dodging that trap) and perform a nearly endless amount of acrobatic moves while exploring an enchanted palace, fighting off the undead and solving puzzles. Add to this a pretty decent story. Now you have a great game. In the movie you get 90 minutes of a pretty decent story; some pretty CGI and, um ... well I don't remember because I only watched it once. The mediums are so different that it doesn't work the other way around either. Games that are movie tie-ins are notoriously bad too. Games that are too much like a movie (Heavy Rain) are frustrating to play, because you don't really get to play them. Resident Evil is an example of a video game universe that was translated into film. These films are good fun, but have almost nothing to do with the video game series; except zombies. I have great hopes for the Splinter Cell movie; but I have been burned before. Like every single time before.
