Some Symptoms Of A Uti

Are sore tonsils a symptom of a uti?

Unusual, but I suspect your body is just trying to fight off the urinary infection. Your tonsils are just lymph nodes that happen to sit in the back of your throat, usually just to fight local infection. It is not common, but I do see an occasional person with presentations like this - your tonsils are getting the signal probably by the immune system sending out cytokines (substances, such as interferon, interleukin, and growth factors, that are secreted by certain cells of the immune system and have an effect on other cells) to help out. Your tonsils are not infected, just reacting.

UTI Symptoms... sort of..?

Yes, it could be a UTI. I have exactly the same situation only it has been going on for the last 14 months on and off. I have been medicated for UTIs about 15 times and after several weeks, it simply returns. After the last 2 month long course of antibiotics, and a month of no real problems, the UTI symptoms returned and since then I have been basically flushing out my bladder at the first signs of symptoms (urgency, frequency, burning, low pain in the abdomen, occasionally even some bleeding and fever) and after a certain amount of time, the symptoms will disappear for a few days. This might be after a day, or it might take a week. However, it is perfectly possible for this to happen.

What is happening is that you are simply washing out the bladder a whole heck of a lot with plenty of fluids, and this flushes out almost all of the bacteria in your bladder causing the infection. As a result, this stops the burning, frequency and urgency for a while, but there are still a few bacteria left behind in the bladder. Over the next few days, as you go back to drinking normally, these few bacteria left behind multiply and continue the UTI once again when they reach a certain level in your urine.... and so the symptoms return again.

Get yourself off to the doctor and have your urine tested for bacterial infection and some antibiotics, as you haven't been able to clear it with home treatment.

It is possible for you to have non-bacterial forms of cystitis which cause the same signs - the urgency, frequency and pain, and even bleeding - but without an infection. This can be down to dehydration, too much caffeine, tight clothes on your lower half, irritation from chemicals or soaps, vaginal infections or thrust, or even "honeymoon cystitis" from lots of sex. There are ways to prevent UTIs - drinking plenty of fluids, peeing after sex, wiping front to back, washing carefully and avoiding scents/bubble bath etc, using different detergents and avoiding fabric softeners, use cotton underwear and avoid tights/pantyhose and synthetic fabrics, and good old cranberry juice. But if this UTI hasn't cleared up so far, it's time to get to a doctor and get another of those antibiotic courses. If there's no bacteria present, then ask to be referred to a urologist for further investigations.

Do you have to show symptoms of a UTI every time you pee to have a UTI?

No, you don't have to have symptoms of a UTI every time you urinate.I had an active UTI in October and was absolutely fine for a week after bouts of mild symptoms, then very suddenly it took a serious turn with excruciating pain and a lot of blood in my urine. With UTI's you can feel fine and think any possible infection has passed, then out of the blue symptoms go into overdrive - given as UTI's can get quite serous it is a really good idea to get checked out if you do show any symptoms. You don't say what symptoms you've been experiencing, it may be that you have another health issue here and the symptoms just happen to be similar to those of a UTI, or there may be a reoccurring issue where something you're doing regularly is causing some urinary tract irritation. It'd be best to discuss symptoms with a doctor.

What are the symptoms of untreated UTI?

Common symptoms include a burning feeling upon urination and a back ache. Untreated these symptoms get progressively worse and may also include blood in the urine and fever. If you believe you have a UTI please see a doctor immediately before your kidneys are affected.

Uti is gone but still have some symptoms. Please help?

first thing i don't have medical insurance so i would like to avoid going if i can. Im poor. In December i got a UTI and went to urgent care. I was prescribed Cypro. After finishing the antibiotics the pain didnt go away. i went back to urgent care and they gave me Macrobid. I finished those antibiotics and i still have a pain. i went back one last time and they said there is no bacteria found. I still have the urge to pee and the inside of me feels raw and sore. Its now been three weeks since i finished the last of the antibiotics and i still feel sore and raw and i haven't gotten any better. I thought maybe its a yeast infection so i took the over the counter medicine but it hasn't helped. It doesn't itch, only burns. and hurts to pee. I have no money to go back to the doctors. please help (ive also been drinking pure cranberry juice and have gone through to jars of Dmannose. which isnt helping either)

Do symptoms of an infection (like UTI) go away but you still have the infection?

In the summertime, I think I had some type of infection. From everything Ive read, it sounded like a UTI (burning, having to go all the time, smell, etc). I never went to the doctors because it just went away. Well a few weeks after that, it happened again, but for a shorter time (like 3 days), then again went away. I just figured it was something like my pants were too tight not thinking about it. Well, its now December, and began having this like browish discharge (old blood?) after I pee. While reading up on that, Im not sure if my period is just starting (i get it next week and i am on birth control) or what it is. If i had a UTI in the summertime, never took anitobotics, do I still ihave it even though there are no symptoms anymore? Also, I took a AZO test, it said positive for WBC but negative for nitrate. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Urinary Tract Infection symptoms?

*No cloudy urine
*No dark or foul smelling urine
*No blood during urination

It burns after I pee, like for 3 seconds.
And I peed in a clear cup to see if I saw anything weird and it looked like there were flakes in it. This is day 4 of this problem, I cant go to the doctors to get antibiotics, on account that Im broke and have never been to a doctors office, I cant tell Mom she is away ( she has no phone and Im alone in the house ). I continue to drink alot of water and drink garlic powder with hot water (disgusting). Is it a UTI? Can I cure it myself?

What is the difference in the symptoms of a UTI and a bladder infection?

Symptoms are very similar, and bladder infection and UTI are interchangably used terms in English anyway. As far as I know, a UTI in English means an infection of anything from the urinary tract up to the renal ducts. In women, a UTI is usually also a bladder infection because the urinary tract is very short. Men are very unlikely to develop a bladder infection because of their long urinary tract, but can develop inflammation of the urinary tract.Symptoms range from a burning sensation upon urinating, especially in the urinary tract itself (burning of urine on the rest of the vulva can be a symptom of candida in women too, so you need to be conscious enough of your own anatomy to distinguish this), to constantly feeling a need to pee and then only peeing a few drops (that is when it went up to the bladder), to lower abdominal pain where the bladder is located. If it goes up to the renal ducts or kidneys, you will experience (severe) lower backpain and abdominal pain. This does not happen easily though. If it is just a burning sensation while peeing, it is not necessarily an infection, or it is one that will heal by itself being flushed out by urine. As soon as you have to pee all the time and the burning gets really uncomfortable and keeps you awake at night, you’d better see a doctor.

What are the symptoms of Urinary tract infection?

Lower abdominal pain could be due to bladder infection. But most common symptoms are:

Symptoms of UTI or bladder infection are not easy to miss and include a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed, which is followed by a sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when the urine is released. Most often very little urine is released and the urine that is released may be tinged with blood. The urge to urinate recurs quickly and soreness may occur in the lower abdomen, back, or sides.

This cycle may repeat itself frequently during the day or night--most people urinate about six times a day, when the need to urinate occurs more often a bladder infection should be suspected.

When bacteria enter the ureters and spread to the kidneys, symptoms such as back pain, chills, fever, nausea, and vomiting may occur, as well as the previous symptoms of lower urinary tract infection.

Often low grade infection may not give all symptoms and found only on microscopic study of urine.
This is probably what the ER did in diagnosing your case.
