Some Times I Think Something But Say Something Else

Sometimes I think that I said something out loud yet I just said it in my head . What is the cause?

Anxiety and/or stress.During episodes of anxiety our thinking can split saying “I've had enough in one portion while the other is still in battle.Survival mode kickstarts the fight or flight mode" but the shift in brain chemicals can be so swift that we may say or do things that is completely out of character or irrational. We can also think of how we want to react and while the brain chemicals shift we have a lapse in memory or thoughts while the last processing thought was that of how we wanted to respond. As the brain is trying to catch up with present reality we assume the last thought we had prior to shutting down was actually said out loud. The memory sensors are momentarily blocked preventing us from remembering if we made the comment or were just thinking about it.Depending on the thought and circumstances this can actually increase the anxiety of you were thinking about something you would never say out loud.

If you think you hear someone say something but they didn't, is it called an auditory hallucination or something else?

I agree with Mark's answer, with a clarification. He states that if there is no difference in the quality of the experience, then it is a hallucination. One way that the experience could be different is whether what you are hearing seems to coming from inside your own head, or from outside of you.Psychotic auditory hallucinations are unusually perceived as coming from an external source in the same way one ordinarily hears another person, a radio, or a TV. A voice perceived as being in your mind may be a memory, an imagined conversation with a person you know is not present, or a result of dissociation. In Dissociative Identity Disorder, the voices of alters, if heard at all, are usually perceived as being inside of the person rather than outside.

Am I overthinking or is it something else? I know it’s dumb but my mind says other wise. PLEASE HELP?

I always feel like I always have to say hi to people or be nice, if I don’t really know them. I find myself getting very worried and overthinking after I talk to someone, I ask myself “ did I say something dumb? Did I make him or her mad at what I said? Did I say anything to offend that person?? Like I always overthink and it kills me. It ruins eveything. I could be having a good day and I get off work and say by to some one and he didn’t say by back so I say it again and they finally hear me the 2nd time and say bye, but now I’m overthinking “ omg you think he got mad cuz I said by twice? Like it’s so dumb saying it out loud but my mind thinks other wise, is this paranoia or overthinking or just plain dumb. Why do I overthink about the most smallest thing. I would love to hear your thoughts please. Thank you.

Also keep in mind, growing up I’ve delt with a lot of depression and anxiety and losing my mom at at young at really intensified all that, I don’t know if that has anything to do with how I act. I tried telling my therapist but he doesn’t help.

Next time,before you say something to someone,think twice.Because what u say can make their day!?

I believe what they mean is before saying something to some one make sure it is something nice because if you say something nice it can brighten there whole day...if you say something mean or rude you may ruin there whole day...

What does it mean when you say something and t.v. says same thing consistantly does it mean ghosts?

The tv shows are already written and played out...so they are not copying you. Whats happening is what ever is on your mind, it happens to be brought up just at the right time, what people call coincidences. But there are no coincidences, they are made to happen for a purpose. So when you hear something on the tv or radio, or read something, That strikes you, Something is trying to get your attention, what you need to do is, then take notice, and see if it has a message for you.. It could be about anything, but specially with things that are worrying you, or something you have been pondering over..Next time it happens, listen further and take notice of what the topic is on tv.. Alot of people notice the coincidences, but dont see the message behind it, thats meant for you.. and until you get it, it will keep happening...If its a news show, and your words seem repeated on tv, watch the whole show, it proberly wont be that topic, but a topic that will be bought up, on the news, something that will touch home for you...Youll be surprised at how this happens...

Another example... If you have been pondering and worrying whether to buy a new house or not, and it sits with you for a while, not knowing which way to go..Then all of a sudden something will catch your eye, You might of driven a different way home one day, and you see a big billboard, with a message
" Now is the time to buy your new home"... An add for a builders company.... These are messages and answers we get all the time and should take notice of them....
