English Sentence Example Question? (7th grade)?
My daughter just came to me for her English review homework, and she's in 7th grade. Both of us ended up stuck on one of the problems she needed help with, so I'm hoping someone can help. The instruction is to find the nouns in a sentence and name if they're proper or common. Pretty simple. The sentence we got stuck on is; The Grand Banks is a stretch of shallow water off Newfoundland. We found all the nouns, but we're unsure about one of them, which is 'stretch'. In this sentence, it's a noun correct? Both of us are pretty sure, but we just want to check. Thank you.

So English is my second language and I'm doing this grammar review exercise for my writing class right now but I'm kinda stuck on these six questions. If anyone can help it would be great. 1)Each of the following sentences has a grammatical error. a)Because Phil is a hero. b)Though only sixteen, UCLA accepted Martha’s application. ^For this one I just think the comma is not needed but I'm not sure... 2)Please insert commas where necessary and remove them where they are not. a)Dracula a famous vampire deliberated endlessly over his choice of coffins. 3)This sentence is punctuated incorrectly. a)She looked, but she could not see it’s tail. b)The policeman jumped over the fence to help the dog bite victim.
