The movie is based on an actual place in China or Thailand... I can't remember. So yes, you can. With enough money you can do anything, pretty much.

Can I book a hotel room using someone else's credit card?
You can book the room w/ her card, thats just to hold the room for you. At the time of check in you can pay with other means, but You may not pay for the room with her card w/o ur mom being present. If you must pay for the room w/ her card, w/o her presence, then the hotel is going to require a credit card authorization from the card owner. The hotel can fax ur mom a credit card authorization form that she must fill out and have her ID and credit card copied onto that form. I am a hotel front desk clerk. Its actullay a simple process. And you may want to contact the hotel personally and see what their requirements are, if faxing of a credit card authorization form is required you can do that a head of time before check in. to save the hassle at time of check in.
What does hostel means?
Generally it's a cheap place to stay, with plain rooms, maybe dormitories sleeping several people, with basic beds and a cupboard, shared bathrooms, no carpets, and no extra comforts. Fine for young people travelling with little money!

Somebody stole 2000 bucks from my drawer in my hostel room when it was just latched. I have suspicions about one of my friends but what do I do to get my money back from him without affecting friendship?
Same thing happened with me two years back.I will tell you what I did to get my money back.Hope it works in your case too.A few girls told me about this girl that she is a thief and she was even caught red handed by her room mate in 2nd year.But her room mate did not tell most girls about this to prevent her image from spoiling.And this girl continued her habit.In the final year,there were very few girls of my class left in the hostel, so I had to go to her room discuss about studies,and she also started coming to my room.I knew she was a thief but I just couldn't prevent her coming to my room.One fine day,I was coming back to my room from the shop in hostel and I had some 400-500 rupees with me when she also entered my room.I didn't open my cupboard to keep the money as I didn't want her to know where I used to keep my money. I thought it's such a small amount and she won't steal it,so I kept it beneath my mattress ,while she watched me. She was in my room for some two hours.During that time,I left the room also for few minutes for some urgent work.Next day,I couldn't find my money. I was sure that it was she only who took my money as no one else came to my room that day,and she only knew where I kept it.Now that I was sure that she took my money,when I met her in the evening,I told her that my money was stolen.I also told where I kept it so that she may realise that I remember that I kept the money in front of her.I then abused the person who stole it and said how could people from well educated families behave like this.I then hinted that not many people come to my room,and I somewhat had an idea of who the thief is. She just kept on listening to me.Next day, in the morning when I opened the door of my room,I saw that there was something beneath the door. It was my money.I never expected that she would return my money,I just wanted her to realise her mistake.But I got the money back as well. I did not say anything to her after this incident.We are still friends.You can try what I did.I am not sure,but it may work,especially if she values your friendship.
