There are many "outlets", largely in China, which purport to sell Michael Kors and other designer brands at gigantic "discounts" but they are definitely not the real thing. How to tell if a Michael kors Grayson handbag is real or fake?
Were they bought on eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Craigslist, Costco, Asos Market, street vendors, or online store? Kiosk @ the mall? NOT REAL. Those places are BUYS AS IS. They sell the same quality products as those other bigger stores, 35-45% less, because they've been rejected by Quality Controllers. They may have a small flaw, packaging dents, scratched, or ripped, maybe the hem was off, or missing a button or belt loop . . .or who knows what they were looking for but 90% nothing wrong with them! Those are cheap Chinese fakes Michael Kors does not allow ANY online retailers but the official site Michaelkors.com to use the "Michael Kors" "Kors" or "MK" trademarks anywhere in their domain name. Any site you find using these terms are never selling the real thing Real Michael Kors bags are almost never discounted more than 30% and are listed in the sale section of the official Michaelkors.com site Best case, you get a cheap vinyl (not leather) bag that looks nothing like the real thing in person and won't fool anyone Worst case - you send money and don't get anything and have no way to get your money back as Paypal or credit cards DO NOT protect you if you are involved in illegal activity, and purchasing counterfeit items is illegal. Or they send the item but it is confiscated and destroyed by Customs upon arrival in the country and you face a fine for attempting to import counterfeit goods
Is this Michael Kors bag fake?
All authentic Michael Kors bags have a lining which consists of just the initials inside of a circle, anything other than that constitutes a knockoff. If you go into the Michael Kors store, or any other authorized retailer, this is all you will find. Don't buy it, knockoffs are a waste of money and you can get the real thing on sale at department stores or even at like TJ Maxx for a lot cheaper. And then you will know its real, too!

In that grouping I would say Tory Burch, Kate spade, Chloe, and Mulberry. They all have classics and if you go to their website they have pretty good sales from time to time. I will stay very far away from buying Michael Kors or coach unless you’re buying it directly from the boutique or flag ship store. If you get it from a place like marshals, or Ross, or even some department stores it holds considerable less value because they are made differently than the ones from the actual brand store. If you would like to get your value out of the bag but I would go to a website likeLuxury consignment sales. Shop for pre-owned designer handbags, shoes, jewelry and moreand check back on their daily because their sales change every day. You can get a cute Kate Spade bag for around 30 to 50 bucks. They don’t take sell coach bags, we no longer sell them in our stores either, because there’s just too much counterfeit out there and it’s too hard to tell what’s real and what’s not and the last thing you want to do is accidentally screwed over when your customers so it’s best just not even deal with brands like that. If your friend is very into High Fashion check out Moschino, Loewe, and Karl Lagerfeld. You can get one of their bags secondhand for the same price you would have paid for the coach or Michael Kors bag at the store. But these are very popular brands right now and they have staying power they’ve been around for decades and have a huge cult following each one of them.
