Why would Social Security send me a claim denial letter for SSD when I did not apply in the first place?
There are two possibilities. The first is obviously fraud. Someone applied for benefits using your number and work history. In this case go in person to your local social security office with the original letter, at least two forms of ID and a picture ID. Ask to speak to a supervisor regarding suspected fraud. That gets the SSA's attention right away. They will open an investigation and notify you of the result. If you are not satisfied with the answer you receive, contact your Congressperson for your congressional district. Bureaucrats fear Congressional inquiries even more than the Donald does!The other possible cause is that you applied for SSI (Supplimental Security Income) and they automatically applied for SSDI as well.

When they take your benefits away you have more than 24 months in which you can get reinstated should you become unable to work again. STOP WORRYING. This is a form letter. I received a similar letter. Answer the questions on the form social security has sent you to update them of your circumstances or go down to to your local SS office. There is a three month grace period within which you may still collect social security benefits anyway. Do not panic. You have no reason too. I went though this experience also. They ARE NOT going to take your benefits away. Calm down. Please feel free to email me. SS form letters are very frightening to recieve. You simply need to give them updated information to keep your benefits.
How long is it going to take to get my decision letter from Social Security on my case?
I was told the decision on my case was made on Tuesday the 27th of November and it's already Monday the 3rd of December and I still haven't gotten the letter. I gave them my boyfriends address which I use as my mailing address and the mail already came today and the letter didn't come today. It might be at my apartment because I gave them that address too but I doubt it since my boyfriends mom is sort of my support. She was in the initial interview with me. My lawyer told me it would take like a week. Well it's been like a week and this is getting rediculous. I am having a hard time sleeping at night over this. I am stressed and afraid I got denied. I just want to find out and get it over with but it's taking forever. I think the letter might be coming from Arkansas because that's where I sent the last bit of paperwork. They have another agency in Arkansas that was working on my case. Can someone give me some kind of idea when it is going to be here?

I was approved for Social Security Disability how long for an award letter?
I just found out I was approved for Social Security Disability. I applied 10/1/2013, my disability date was 6/2011 and the approval decision was made on 12/19/2013. I also received a deposit in the bank a few days ago. I called the 800 number for social security and the woman on the phone said she couldn't give me any details on what the onset date was they agreed on or any payment information because the decision was made on the 19th and they have to give 10 days for the letters to be mailed out. That doesn't make sense, they made a deposit, the website even states I am getting disability payments, the verification letter tells me my monthly payments. Why couldn't she tell me if they agreed my disability date was 6/2011 or how much back pay I would get? I know you don't get 5 months of pay but my disability started over 24 months ago. How long after you are approved do they send the award letter out, and how soon do they send the back payments out? Do you also get back pay for your child benefits?
If someone says that they are calling form the social security office and say that I get awarded some money?
First they were asking for my account number and they said they weren't going to ask me for my routing number and then a few words later they ask me for my routing number??? It's a SCAM right they gave me numbers and stuff but I bet you it's a scam??
