Song Stuck In My Head Help Really Its Bugging Me

How do you get a song un-stuck from your head?

There is no definitive cure for cognitive itch:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/scien... http://blogs.bu.edu/ombs/2011/10... More research seems to be centered on what causes it rather then what can cure it. It seems to be caused by something that has a familiar pattern but with an unusual twist, or something that requires resolution your brain can't provide. For example, Kylie's I-should-be-so-lucky,lucky,lucky,lucky... is perfectly designed to do severe psychological damage because of a combination of: insane levels of repetition, and a musically twisted hook that doesn't conform to the usual western changes you would expect in a song of it's nature. The repetition wares a groove in your thought patterns while the hook is really difficult to resolve in your head, after a while it starts to feel like one of those impossible 3D drawings that don't resolve.Damnit, now that bloody song is in my head!!However, the worst cognitive itch worms that get lodged in my ears tend to be stuff that I practice musically that I'm not happy with. I'll hear my own tortured, tired riffs in my head when I'm trying to focus on something unrelated. It's my personal hell.Replacing the song with another never works for me personally - my brain will happily accommodate multiple ear worms. The only cure with a high success rate for me is to listen to the song completely, from the beginning to the very end. Whatever unresolved aspect of the music that keeps it circling the airport seems to often get put to rest by doing this.

I have a piano song stuck in my head?

I don't know where it's from, but I've had it stuck in my head for a few days and it's been bugging me. I managed to play out some of the notes on a piano.
it goes: C, D, D#, F, G, D#, G, F#, D, F#, F, C#, F
I'm not sure if those are the exact notes but if someone can play them and recognize them, I'd like to know what song it is
thanks

Unknown song stuck in my head, female singer, really high pitched.?

Okay, I heard this song at work but I only remember one part of it which is just a really high pitched ahhhh sound. Yeah, helpful clue right....
I keep thinking it's by Kate Bush but i'm not so sure.
Like I said, it's a female singer, really high pitched that I can't make out the lyrics when I hear it. Everynow and then I get bits of it come to me but I can never make it out properly. If you have any suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

What is this song stuck in my head? (classic rock)?

Good song....Tom Sawyer by Rush
Lyrics
A modern-day warrior
Mean mean stride,
Todays Tom Sawyer
Mean mean pride.

Though his mind is not for rent,
Dont put him down as arrogant.
His reserve, a quiet defense,
Riding out the days events.
The river

And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift.

The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his eyes are wide.

Todays Tom Sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the space he invades
He gets by on you.

No, his mind is not for rent
To any God or government.
Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes arent permanent,
But change is.

And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the witness, catch the wit,
Catch the spirit, catch the spit.

The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his skies are wide.

Exit the warrior,
Todays Tom Sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the energy you trade,
He gets right on to the friction of the day.

Theme song help anyone?

There's been loads of covers, remixes, alternative versions of Tom's Diner which can be found on Tom's Album, which is a collection of these covers and tributes of Tom's Diner that Suzanne Vega put together and there's a version which incorporated the theme tune from I Dream of Jeannie- Wikipedia says Nick-at-Nite used it to promote something on Nickelodean. It's a really cool album actually, even though it's the same song over and over the way it's interpreted by all those different people is really interesting. Nikki D's cover on there (Daddy's little girl) is amazing and I love R.E.M's version (they're listed as Bingo Hand Job which is a name they used to use at secret gigs). So, the song you're thinking of is actually called Jeannie's Diner, can be found on Tom's Album and is listed on the album as Jeannie's Diner - Vocals by Marilyn E. Whitelaw; Additional Vocals by Mark Davis.

This is the song I think you're talking about:

I always hear music in my head. What's wrong with me?

Well, it sounds like cancer of your Musicaladalamus (the organ in your brain that enjoys and interprets music). You should get it checked immediately!Ok…still reading, and not in your car on the way to your doctor? Good. That was a joke. There’s nothing wrong with you. This happens to everyone. Germans call it an Ohrwurm (Earworm). Americans just say we’ve got a song stuck in our head. Just sing along. One explanation for the ‘Earworm’ phenomenon, suggests that we get songs stuck in our heads for which we don’t know all of the lyrics. It’s the lack of closure, that keeps the song stuck in our heads. So, like, you know the first verse, and 3 lines of the chorus, but you can’t remember any more of the chorus or the 2nd verse. So your brain thinks, ‘Ok, well, maybe if I start over at the point where I know the words and the tune, I’ll remember the rest.’ Because, subconsciously, your brain wants to hear the song through til the end. So it keeps playing, over and over. This can go on for days. The next time it happens, try reading the lyrics and letting the song play to the end in your head…or listen to the actual song, but to the very end. This helps some people get a song out of their head.
