Soooo Thermometer On Dog

Im not sure if my dog is in Stage 1 Labor?

So my dog is on her 62nd day of her pregnancy and im not sure if she is in labor yet. My vet told me she should have puppies of the end of LAST week (Thurs,Fri,Sat) But now its wed. and im still not sure if shes in labor. Normally shes a VERY active dog, And shes been sleeping in her whelping box or staying right by my side, She has most of all the signs of being in labor, But she still hasent gone. Shes had these signs since Saturday But still nothing. Iv called my vet a few times, even the 24 hour vet and they keep telling me, Shes probably gonna have them soon like within 24 hours and since saturday STILL NOTHING! im getting kinda nerverous but i just want to do whats best for my dog and i was wondering if anyone else has any other info that i can do, or whats going on. Last night she started leaking a small amount of clear fluids, and then this morning ALOT, but still nothing. I called the vet this morning and they told me her water MIGHT have broken but she acting ok, no pain

My dog scare from being fixed has bubbled and is pusing?

I rescued a dog from the shelter about a month ago, she was fixed but didn't need the stitches out, she had scar that was slighty risen. Now on top of the scar it has a bubble, looks a large zit and now is pusing. The soonest I can get her in the vet is Sunday morning, will she be ok til then? Or should I take her to an emergency vet before?

My pitbull died Sunday :( physically nothing wrong, according 2 vet it was all in his head. Thoughts?

Thanks for all the responses. This has been a very tough week. Today is the first day that I didnt cry!
We had xrays done, blood work, the works. The poisoned theory ran through my mind. He was mean( never attacked anyone) just very protective of his owners. My husband is a very inquisitive guy so he asked the vet LOTS ofquestions. He didnt feel the vet was unknowledgeable had he for a second thought that would have picked my dog up and took him out of there! I think my husband decided to go ahead and put him down because when he went into the room it was like my dog was already gone he wouldnt respond to his name( very unlike him) my husband had to turn his head for him to even look at him and he said the eyes were vacant. He would have been 7 in August :( :(. Ok today is no longer the first day i didnt cry! I forgot to mention that my dogs dad died the same way last year. the same symptoms and time span and prognosis.

Should outdoor patio dining be made illegal?

To start out with an Answer that puts the Question into proper perspective…If the government is actually concerned about employee health, shouldn’t it be considering the passage of legislation against forcing employees to work under constant radiation bombardment? Every day, young mothers around the country are forced to risk leaving their children as orphans because of their early, painful, and disfiguring deaths due to malignant melanoma. There is largely only ONE cause (I believe over 90% of cases although I’m open to correction) of this terrible disease: solar radiation exposure. And yet restaurants and bars and casinos nationwide allow serviced outdoor drinking/dining patios.Solar Radiation is neither inherent nor necessary to dining or drinking, and sunscreen and awnings provide only "partial protection" -- similar to the ventilation/filtration that's so widely rejected for smoking accommodations. If lazy-butt Solar-addicts want to broil their melanomas, they can just pop outside and stretch out to catch some quick rays on the sidewalk: there's no excuse in the world for forcing workers to risk their own lives because of such selfish porcinal people.Give me the same kind of money that's been pumped into the antismoking movement from our taxes and the NicoGummyPatchyFolks over the last 20 years (well over 900 million dollars a year), and 20 years from now I could have people feeling more scared of sunshine than they are of smoke! Antisunners could use the same media tools as Antismokers: take a tiny germ of truth (e.g. "This is carcinogenic.") while ignoring the all-important factors of dosage and the desirability of allowing people to make a free choice; then declare there is "no safe level!" while enacting laws "to protect those who are most vulnerable and have no choice of where to work" as they wave suffering children in the air to trigger our inbuilt biological protective instincts. There could be an allowance for nighttime outdoor patios, although there’s always the concern over the trillions of deadly radiation blast furnaces twinkling away in the sky…Soooo… SHOULD those workers be protected? Or don’t their lives matter?Obviously my answer is that such a mandated governmental intrusion into our lives would be overkill… just as their near cousin, smoking bans, has been.Any other thoughts out there?MJM, off to get his tinfoil hat readjusted…

How do you boil a whole chicken?

When I make chicken broth these days I break down the chicken into leg thigh combos, wings and leave the carcass with the breast still attached. Slip the carcass into cold filtered water and bring it to a boil. Simmer for 20-30 minutes to cook the breast. Cool enough to touch then cut the breast off to use in sandwiches, chicken salad or taco meat. Finish making broth with the  rest of the carcass and vegetables.  The breast is not dry using this method. To extrapolate further; If you want to boil a whole chicken you can wash the bird and simply put it it whole into cold water to cover and simmer it for 45-60 minutes. If you are unsure use a meat thermometer to measure into the thickest part of the thigh. It should read 155º-165º. There is some residual cooking that happens after removing the chicken from the water hence the range. It will go up to 165º after removal so I remove at a slightly lower temperature. PS it might be good to brine a chicken you are cooking this way or you can season it when you use the meat in a recipe too.
