Speeding Ticket Violation

I attended traffic school for speeding ticket, would the violation still show on my driving record?

I don't know about other states, but the courts in California only report convictions and only the courts can report to the DMV on traffic convictions. If you go to traffic school in California, the case is dismissed and no conviction occurs.

Violation 1102 in NY from speeding ticket?

a 1102 is "Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order" which is 2 points on your license.
a 1180(a) is "Unreasonable/Imprudent Speed"
a 1180(b) is "Speeding" Now depending on how fast you were going, depends on how many points you get.

1 - 10 mph over speed limit is 3 points
11 - 20 mph over speed limit is 4 points
21 - 30 mph over speed limit is 6 points
31 - 40 mph over speed limit is 8 points and a possible suspension
More than 40 mph over speed limit is 11 points and a possible suspension

so they did you a favor and "lowered" the charge to something that gives you less points, which is the 1102.

EDIT: Yes, your insurance will go up, but usually not by much, it IS still a moving violation and 2 points on your license.

If you are convicted of three speeding violations in an 18 month period (calculated by date of conviction), your license will be suspended.

In New York, the Department Of Motor Vehicles will charge a Driver Assessment Fee if you accumulate 6 or more points in an 18 month period calculated by date of violation. The fee is $300.00 ($100 a year for three years). For every point over six, an additional $75.00 is charged. Additionally, an accumulation of 11 or more points in an 18 month period will result in the suspension of a NY driver license. If you are from out of state, NY will transmit convictions to your home state and you may be assessed points on your home state license as well.

Is a speeding ticket a violation of probation in florida?

I was put into an MDP program for a drug paraphernalia charge last month. I only have one and a half months left to end it but I got a speeding ticket yesterday for going 10 over the limit. Will that violate my probation?

Can a speeding ticket revoke my probation?

I am a probation officer in Texas.

You need to tell your probation officer - because each month, on your monthly report form, it should ask you if you have had any contact with law enforcement. Also, bring the ticket with you - so your PO can copy it.

Now for the good news. No, it will not affect your probation. Only Class B arrests or higher will be a probation violation. However, be aware that if you get caught driving without a valid DL, or if you start to get tons of traffic tickets, THEN you could end up in court on a motion to adjudicate and revoke your probation.

I have probationers who get speeding tickets. I will sometimes follow up with the agency who wrote the ticket to make sure there is no more to it (that's why I want a copy of the ticket). But, tickets are Class C - so, it's not a violation.

Speeding ticket Violation Code 22356b exceeding 70mph. Office said did 96mph but gave me 84mph. Fight it?

What kind of moron would go to court and have the cop testify that you were actually going faster but he gave you a break?

Yea, go ahead and fight this ticket in court - instead of a simple speeding ticket you will wind up convicted of a misdemeanor (96mph is considered to be a criminal act instead of a simple traffic infraction).

Is a speeding ticket arrest a probation violation? Will I go to jail?

First of all, it depends on two things: what you were convicted of, and, what jurisdiction you’re in. If you were sentenced to probation for multiple traffic violations, it’s entirely possible you would get jail time. If you were sentenced to probation for something much more serious, like a felony of some sorts, you probably won’t get jail time. However, I can only speak for Chicago. Cook County Jail is overcrowded and no judge would violate your probation over a speeding ticket. They’d rather save the space for a violent offender. But, just one county over, DuPage County, there is lots of room in their county jail. The judges there lock everyone up for any reason.Good luck to you.

How does a lawyer reduce a speeding ticket to a non-moving violation?

Traffic court is all about speed. They have very little time for trials. Your lawyer will craft a plea bargain in which you plead guilty to a violation that has no points and the original charge is dismissed. You could do it yourself, if you knew how. That is what you pay them for: knowledge.
