Why doesn't Microsoft Outlook spell check the new email subject box as you type?

I'm assuming that you are using Outlook on a PC.  If so, then Outlook does spell check the subject.  It just doesn't do it as you type.  It will check it if you press F7 or if you have Outlook configured to check the spelling when you send a message.

What are the best spell checks for gmail?

As CJ Hardy mentioned, the spell check in Gmail itself is pretty good. But if you need more, I’d advice you to install the Grammarly extension and type your text first in the Hemingway app. This way your messages will be grammatically correct and easy to read thanks to a simple structure.

My Outlook Spell-Check told me I misspelled the word "the" this afternoon, which I typed at the beginning of a sentence as "The". What is the process by which Spell-Check can make such idiotic errors?

This is not spell-check but grammar-check. Grammar-check is absolutely idiotic and should be disabled for ever and ever.No computer is or ever will be (in several lifetimes, at least), able to understand real language. This is exactly why we have a bunch of computer (programming) languages and mechanical language and compilers and so on. Not only does the computer fail to understand and identify errors when they occur but it will actually force you to make an error where no error exists! Here is one example. I was writing a story. At one point, I wrote, “The Prince’s horse”, meaning “the horse that the Prince was riding”. Word told me that I was wrong. I should say, instead, “The Princess horse” meaning, “the horse that was a Princess.” I can’t think of a more stupid correction.Make sure that your grammar-check is always switched off.

Automatically adding outlook contact names to spell check dictionary?

How do you automatically add spell check names in outlook to the custom dictionary used for spell check. My old XP PC at work did this, but the new windows 7 PC is not. I found a patent from Microsoft that seems to say this is possible, but it does not give instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you heard of schlerdoma? (spell check)?

From emedicine: Scleroderma is a systemic disease that affects many organ systems. It is most obvious in the skin; however, the gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory, renal, cardiovascular, and genitourinary systems, as well as numerous vascular structures, are involved frequently. The symptoms result from progressive tissue fibrosis and occlusion of the microvasculature by excessive production and deposition of types I and III collagens. Other macromolecules found in the connective tissue (eg, glycosaminoglycans, tenascin, fibronectin) also are increased. The vascular alterations show a predilection for affecting the small arteries, arterioles, and capillaries. The small vessel cytoskeleton is affected by structural defects that lead to collapse. Next, the tight junctions become altered and are no longer functional, allowing the endothelium to slip into the vessel lumen.

From webmd: Scleroderma (pronounced SKLEER-oh-der-ma) is Greek for hard skin. It's classified as both a connective-tissue disorder and a rheumatic condition. In scleroderma, the skin gradually tightens and thickens or hardens. It loses its ability to stretch. Tiny blood vessels throughout the body also may be affected, causing widespread damage to the internal organs.
