How can a Nigerian get a soccer sponsor? And who are the sponsors?

A Nigerian… what? Player? Team? Coach? Agent?Player: Be good. Find an agent. Go through trials at various clubs in the area, in nearby areas. If you are young and good, you can get there. If you are old, you can always try Ali Dia’s way.Team: Win things. Sponsors like to be associated with winning teams. Or seek local companies that would be interesting in exposing their brand on your jersey.Coach: Win things. Start at the smallest levels and build up. Brand yourself well.Agent: Find the talent, sign the talent, win the money.

How can I get good at selling physical ad space (sponsorship) at my soccer complex?

The first thing I would do is gather statistics and info about your soccer complex for your pitch to potential sponsors/advertisers.  How many kids play soccer at your soccer complex each week/month/year?  Do people come watch them play?  How many?  Do you host tournaments as well?  Do you want to have advertising packages for league play only, tournament play only, or both?  What I mean is do you want their signs (their advertising) visible at all times or only during tournaments or during league games? Do you want to give them the option to decide for themselves?Figure out as many statistics and demographics regarding the people who will see the signs.  They will be the audience for your sponsors.  Once you know the audience, you can think of the different businesses that would be interested in sponsorship and advertising.  The more people in a business's target market that will see the business's sign at your soccer complex, the more you can charge for the sponsorship. In addition to physical signs, you might also consider selling naming rights to one or more fields, especially if some fields are better than others (i.e. lighted, turf, stadium seating, scoreboards, etc.).Here's a media guide for my alma mater's university newspaper: College Heights Herald 2015-16 Media Kit.  The way they approach pricing, advertisement sizing, and statistics should be of value to you.  Think about creating your own "media kit" to show to potential sponsors.  I'd email your players' parent about sponsorship and advertising opportunities.  They get the double benefit of advertising their businesses and supporting their children's extracurricular activities.I'm not well-versed in advertising pricing and negotiation, so I hope another Quora member can help you in that area, but I hope this is a solid start.

Which soccer team has e-on on their jersey?

Acutally AON sponsors Man U! E-On sponsors:
In February 2006 it was announced that E.ON UK would sponsor the FA Cup. The four-year deal which included the FA Women's Cup and the FA Youth Cup is worth around £40 million. E.ON is also the official energy partner of The Football League and now also sponsor a collection of home programmes on Channel Five in the UK. How to get sponsored by adidas?

As an individual, you probably won't be getting sponsored by adidas at 14. Even Freddy Adu wasn't sponsored by a company that size at age 14.

It IS still possible that your team could be sponsored by adidas, even if it is not a professional team. Every corporation has a different process. Your coach or team administrator should contact their US or regional HQ to find out their specific process. It usually begins with an application giving details about the team, number of players, awards and major wins, etc.

In either case, much of getting sponsored is about networking and knowing the right people. That's just the way it goes.

If you're a pretty good player, or at least motivated (or at the very least you or your parents know a lot of business people), you might try talking to local businesses like sporting goods stores to see if they will sponsor you and perhaps provide you with the things you would want from adidas.

Be careful though. Sponsorship through a team is usually ok, but if you get sponsored individually (even by a local company), you will risk losing your amateur status, and that will keep you from playing in high school, college, and a lot of youth leagues.

Hope this helps.

Why do soccer teams have shirt sponsors while most other sports don't?

I’m guessing you’re referring to American sports and the answer is simple: $$ dollah bills yo!Nhl, Nba, Nfl, they’re all more popular than the MLS and thus they get big contracts from Tv deals, sponsors, merchandise, etc. Meanwhile the MLS doesn’t get as big contracts and this they have to induce sponsors to pay more by showing their logos on their shirts. In Europe everyone has sponsors. Soccer clubs but also basketball (Armani Milano, for example) , baseball (Telemarket Rimini), etc.In the US its normal for the sponsors to name the stadiums (Staples Center in LA or the Quicken Loans arena in Cleveland) while in Europe it’s just starting to pick up.All it boils down to is income really. The more visible the brand is, the more money the team gets out of it. In fact, the NBA is thinking of allowing a small sponsor to appear on their jerseys from now on.

What do "O2"s on soccer jerseys stand for?

I see lots of people wearing soccer jerseys with O2 on them, and I think the jerseys also say England. Is there an actual soccer team? Or am I completely wrong? And what is "O2"? Is that a player's number?

Why don't the football (soccer) teams Roma and Fiorentina have sponsor names on their jerseys?

It's either the club policy or if not, then they might not have got a preferrable sponsorship deal. Even long back untill 2010  Barcelona had a tradition of not accepting payment for sponsors to be displayed on its jerseys and it changed with Qatar foundations lucrative sponsorship deal.
