Spots On Arms And Legs

Red spots on arms and legs that scab?

I have had these spots for well over 3 weeks now. I thought they were bed bug bites because sometimes they itched, but there aren't enough marks for them to be bed bug bites. There are a count of 7 of these marks on my body at the time, as a few have healed.

They start out red, itchy, and then they scab, even if I have not touched them. I saw a Dermatologist, she thought it was absolutely nothing to worry about and gave me a topical steroid called Cordran SP. I don't think it's helped too much. I was on anti-biotics for Staph from a normal Dr (who mistook it for staph) so my Dermatologist could not take a skin culture.

Clearly both of these people were wrong. I'm 20 years old, I don't think it could be Shingles, I was vaccinated a very long time ago for Chicken Pox.
Any one else have experience with this? I was wondering if it was allergies, but nothing has really changed in my life (but I had mono in February, so my immune system is still bad, I've been having unbelievable amounts of canker sores in my mouth)

I usually get bad allergies at this time, like itchy eyes and nose, but for some reason I still haven't, so could this be a trade off? I get this red, scabbed bumps?

NOTE: These are only on my arms and my lower legs. There was a small spot on my left butt cheek (went away) and one tiny one on the side of my foot.
These marks are no where else.

What could have caused the red spots all over my legs and arms?

I appreciate that you asked me to answer this question but I honestly have no idea. I’m not an MD. I think if you can’t get any help from your family physician then maybe a visit to a Dermatologist is in order.Good luck,Carol

How can I get rid of black spots on arms and legs?

I’d see a dermatologist for evaluation. You state “black spots” but I’m not sure if you mean moles, possible tinea infection, or hyperpigmentation. The doctor would know on exam. For hyperpigmentation, if that’s what it is, you would be prescribed hydroquinone cream. The 2% is sold over the counter, but a dermatologist can prescribe 4% strength. Used daily, each will make a difference over time although the stronger cream will work more quickly. Be sure to wear sunscreen so that the sun does not undo the lightening process. Thanks for A2A

White spots on arms and legs that go away when I rub them?

For the last couple years I've noticed very prominent white spots all over my arms and legs. When I saw a doctor about it, he said they were just from the sun. Then I realized that if I rubbed my arms/legs, the spots went away, but came back shortly after. Could this be some kind of blood circulation problem? Is there anything I can do to help it? My family doctor quickly dismissed this problem since I'm only 21, he said it wasn't serious, but it concerns me because I find that my limbs "fall asleep" quite easily and frequently. I don't want to have serious circulation problems in the future. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Red/Purple Spots on Legs and Arms!?

These are very normal, around 70% of people have them in some form. They are not spots, but a discoloured hair follicle that is no issue at all other than for cosmetic reasons (I have them a bit and find them a bit unattractive but not a major flaw).
Don't squeeze them! This Will only make them worse.
There's no sure way of getting rid of them, but try exfoliating whenever you shower, shaving with direction of your hair (on your legs) and following with a decent moisturiser. They should clear quite well.
Good luck!

I have red spots all over my legs and arms that do not itch and seem completely harmless except that they don't look good. My father has this same condition. I'm 21 and never bothered before because, like I said, they seem harmless. What condition could it be?

This is genetically inherited. You don't have to bother about it as it is going to stay lifetime. Laser therapy may be effective to fade the spots. However, I am afraid that these spots can not be removed completely.

How can I get rid of red spots on my legs?

Small, red bumps or pimples that occur on parts of the body you shave or where clothing rubs the skin are signs of folliculitis. You may know it as razor rash. This skin condition is caused by bacteria or fungi that infect your hair follicles. Shaving, tight clothing, and the combination of heat and sweat — think gardening gloves — are typical sources of folliculitis. You can get folliculitis at any age, but there are certain risk factors. You’re at risk if:you have chronic lymphocytic leukemia, diabetes, AIDS, or other condition that makes you more susceptible to infectionyou have acne or eczemayour skin has been injuredyou frequent hot tubsyou're overweightFolliculitis can be itchy and uncomfortable. But it's not serious unless it progresses to a more severe type of infection, including boils, carbuncles, and cellulitis. Folliculitis usually clears up on its own. If it lasts longer than 10 days or it worsens, you should see your doctor.
