Spray Painted On The Side Of My Car

HELP, Someone spray painted my car!?

Well I know a guy that does minor body work and painting, and that is what he does. It might take a little shine off, but you don't really have a choice anyway do you?
You would have to remove it and repaint it anyway, you might as well try this. Worse that can happen is you need to repaint that area, which can be a simple touch up.

Can I spray paint my car outside?

you have to get a certain kind regular wont work

How do I get spray paint off of a new car?

The coating on your car is in multiple layers.

The layers are as follows:

1. Base Steel
2. Rust coating - galvanizing (this reduce rusting even if scratched to bare metal - reduces, does not stop.)
3. Primer
4. Color Paint
5. Topcoat/Clearcoat

When you have damage such as you describe the and try to remove it there are different ways to do this. A. Dissolve the paint and this may be possible depending on the type of paint on the car. Latex is waterbased and will dissolve with water leaving all original finished undamaged. If the paint is Enamel or Lacquer then this is oil based paint and will not dissolve in water but will require a solvent based thinner to dissolve it. Dissolving has to take place as soon as possible or it will gain adhesion strength as it dries.

NOTE: The automobile manufactures design and test the car paint, topcoat/clearcoat to insure it does not discolor or peal off if you accidentally overfill your gas tank at the pump and spill gas down the side of your car. This means that you can try pump gas as a solvent for the paint that has gotten on your car.

Maquirers Clay magic may work but it is for stuff that is stuck into the paint like grit and not for bonded material - its worth a try.

Now if dissolving the paint does not work you will have to try harsher means like rubbing compound and buffing it out. This will definitely remove the newly acquired extra paint but it is also going to remove some of the topcoat/clearcoat.

Depending on how the paint got onto your car can also make for different removal strategies. If someone used a paint can then try to dissolve it if that doesnt work try clay then try buffing it out. If it got on their because you drove through the freshly painted line on the highway you may want to uses a plastic scraper and try to pop most of it off.

If you used wax on your car the paint will have less ability to adhere to the main paint of your car and may be easier to remove than you think.

good luck.

How long does most spray paint take to dry?

It depends upon the surface and type of spray paint. According to article on homeaholic, “The best thing about spray paint contrasted with consistent paint is that it takes under 10 minutes to dry between coats, making for a fast job.”, its on furniture. There are more times on different surface like metal, rubber, and glass.

Cost of painting car's side mirror?

Check out the cost of a white mirror from a local salvage yard. Camry is a popular car and white is a popular color. Might be cheaper.

How do i paint my plastic side mirrors on my car?

It is generally a good idea to take your car to a body shop for painting plastic mirrors. Most newer cars have paints that require multiple coats of specialized paint. On older cars, the paint has faded some from the sunlight and it is not possible to match the color with original equipment paint codes. A quality body shop will have their own paint mixer and can adjust the color for the slight fading that has taken place.

If getting a perfect match is not that important, then you can go to any auto parts store and buy a can of spray paint in the color code of your vehicle. When you have chosen the paint, you take the mirror off, scuff it with a light sand paper and follow the instructions for painting on the can. It will give you the same basic color as the car, but unless you have significant experience in spray painting, the quality might prove to be suspect.

How good is spray paint for interior doors?

I don’t think you’ll like this answer just because you are asking the question. The answer is simple. DO NOT use spray paint on interior doors. There are many reasons, here are a couple of them:If you were planning to paint them “in place” rather than remove them and paint them outside of the house you will absolutely get overspray on everything within 10 feet of the door even if you try to mask or cover stuff to avoid it. You may also asphyxiate yourself, other people, your pets (even your pet fish) from the toxic fumes even if you try to evacuate the fumes using a fan;Oh yeah, if you use a fan to try and evacuate the fumes be prepared to extinguish a fire and explosion caused by the paint fumes igniting in the sparking of the motor. If that doesn’t happen a pilot light from an oven or hot water heater will do it too;A 16 ounce can of spray paint doesn’t have 16 ounces of paint. It is more like 4 ounces of paint, 2 ounces of reducer (thinner), and 10 ounces of propellant. Half of it will go into the air as overspray so you will only get 3 ounces of reduced paint on the door. You just might be able to get good coverage on one side of the door by brushing on 6 ounces of paint (or 12 ounces reduced)… which means you’ll need at least four 16 ounce cans of spray paint for a single side of the door. Of course this assumes that the door has been properly prepared and has a sealer coat applied first. If you attempt it you can also be almost assured that once the door is installed you will notice a significant difference and unevenness in the finish which you’ll end up painting over with a brush anyway. Better to save the money and not waste time in the first place.I want to say here that using an aerosol can for painting is totally different from using a real spray system. Door factories often use commercial spray systems to apply paint.
