Sprint Protection Plan Replacing My Phone

How much does sprint charge to replace or repair a damaged phone with insurance?

If you're paying $7 for the Total Equipment Protection (TEP) and the phone is damaged, call Asurion at 1-800-584-3666 (which is the insurance program for Sprint) to submit a claim. They will send you a replacement phone and a return label to send your damaged phone back. If the damaged phone is not returned, a $50 non-refundable deductible will apply.

With the TEP, you can also go into a Sprint Repair centre to have it serviced and repaired for no additional cost. Check for the locations with Sprint store locator at http://storelocator.sprint.com/StoreLoca...

Sprint total protection plan...a scam or the real deal?

Yes it is a good plan. Keep in mind there is a $50 dollar deductible. If you need repairs on your phone I recommend going directly to a sprint service store not a store like wireless toyz or places like that. When you make a claim and need a replacement phone you call and they send out a replacement and you must send yours back to them. If the phone was dropped in water or whatever let them know. If you have any damage though I'd go directly to a sprint store and let them know the problem. Everything they do except replacing the phone is covered. Your new phone is covered under a 1 year warranty of its own so keep that in mind as well. I've had the flip part of my phone replaced a few times anytime the camera cracks or the lcd screen crack they replace it for you for free.
The bad part is the company that deals with you is separate from sprint which means if they say something and you want to fight it sprint can't do anything as they are not connected to them. Mine is $5 bucks a month so yes it is worth it when the phones cost $300 or more dollars.

Is sprint's total equipment protection mandatory?

Nothing, you can cancel at any time, but you can't put it back on after you take it off, unless you are still within the 14 to 30 day period after purchase date. And then you will have to bring the phone into a store to prove it actually still works and has no damage.

If you are making installment payments on that phone, and you have ever dropped or lost a phone in the past, you may want to keep it, until the phone is paid off. Otherwise you lose the phone or it gets damaged, the repair or replacement cost comes out of your pocket and you still have to keep paying for it, even if you no longer have it and can't afford to replace it.

I have known people that canceled their protections plans and the same week, dropped their phones or had the stolen. So yeah it cost you money to have the TEP, but can you afford not to have it if there is a problem that warranty doesn't cover?

Sprint Insurance on phone?

My mom, my sister and I all have iPhones. My mom made sure that my phone had insurance on it (She just knew I was going to crack it, which I did.) the day that I cracked my phone my mom called the Sprint store, and the woman said that all we had to do was bring my phone in, and they could fix it with no charge (Because I had INSURANCE) so we brought my phone to the store and a worker there said that we had to pay $150 in order for my iPhone to be fixed. What is the point in having insurance on my phone if they won't be able to give me a new one for free? They also said that she would have to pay $150 every time I broke it.

I received a new SIM card with a replacement phone thru Asurion. Should I send in my old SIM card with the damaged phone or do I keep it?

Typically, unless otherwise specified you should always keep your SIM card, and usually if your phone has a removable battery you keep that as well. The main reason is just so you don't need to transfer your account to the new SIM everytime you get a new phone.Even if you're switching to a phone with a different sized Sim you generally have to need to send the old one back mainly because the service provider has no use for your used SIM, and believe it or not, a majority of returns are just amassed into lots then sold off, which means your old sim card with potentially personal information could very well end up in the highest bidder's possession. The reason for the new SIM is mostly because they generally just pack replacements and new phones with a SIM card just because the cost is so little and it makes it alot easier to pack every phone with one rather than have a human individually read each invoice and put one in the packages of people who've lost their phone or have a damaged SIM, or have people tie up customer service lines requesting a new one because their lost phone's replacement didn't have one.

Lost phone for sprint service please answer!!?

Usually what happens with lost phone and insurance is this...

You paid your monthly insurance. You will call customer service for sprint, and you will most likely be transferred to another division of sprint which handles these things.
Then you will be either faxed, emailed or contacted in some way so that you fill some information out about your phone and yourself, and possibly pay a small deductible (usually $50 at most).
Your phone should be shipped to you soon thereafter.

Can a stolen phone be activated?

A stolen phone can not typically be activated. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to do it regardless. There are people out there that can change the IMEI to one that isn’t on the blacklist as well as the possibility of activating it in a different country. Some country’s carriers won’t activate a stolen phone from another country because they are partners of sorts and share a blacklist. Some carriers will activate it because they don’t share the same blacklist. Most of them are sharing it now (or starting to) so it doesn’t do much good to steal a phone except for parts anymore.
