Why did Nightwing's costume change for the New 52?

I think they just wanted to give him a kind of new look for the New 52.Also, he was the only Robin that wasn't still wearing red.I prefer the blue though for him.

Since when did Nightwing join the Teen Titans?

An argument can be made the Nightwing has been a member of the Teen Titans from the start. This is because Nightwing is the original Prime Earth Robin and was a founder of the original Teen Titans. I am not sure if in Rebirth the founders were the same as in past incarnations but for most of the Teen Titans history there were five original Teen Titans. These are Dick “Robin” “Nightwing” Grayson, Aqualad (Tempest), Wally “Kid Flash” “Flash” West, Roy “Speedy” “Arsenal” Harper and Donna “Wonder Girl” “Troia” Troy. Using this history During the New Teen Titans story Judas Contract is when Dick Grayson changed from Robin to Nightwing and never gave up his membership in the Teen Titans at this time.

Was it a good decision to "kill off" Nightwing (New 52) and start the Grayson series?

Yes. Nightwing was good as a series, however, I think Grayson was a fresh and great start for the character and putting him in a different place, where he could shine in a way that he hadn't before. And instead of a traditional superhero story, it gave them a chance to tell a truly varied story. It is a spy thriller, a family drama etc. whenever it suits the issue's strengths. I also felt that it truly reflects on the history of Dick with Batman, Barbara etc.

Where to start reading DC comics?

I've always been interested in DC comics, love Batman and all that... but I just wouldn't know where to start reading them. I obviously don't want to read them all, and more recent ones would be ideal (I'm not saying that they have to be from like 2000-present, they can be before that). Plus, knowing all of the heroes' stories from the beginning would be great for me.

Basically, I'm interested in Batman, the Robin variations, Superman, The Flash, and maybe some more. Where do you recommend I start?

Can any comic experts explain how Nightwing comes about, who Jason Todd and Dick Grayson are?

Nightwing is Dick Grayson. Dick Grayson used to be part of a circus act with his family, The Flying Graysons. A mob boss came in one show, and gunned down everyone in The Flying Graysons except for Dick. Bruce Wayne was there, and he adopted Dick after seeing what happened. Thus, Dick Grayson becomes the first Robin. As he matures, he grows apart from Bruce and later becomes his own separate hero, Nightwing. Jason Todd is the second Robin. Batman caught him trying to steal the tires of the Batmobile, so he takes him in and adopts him. Jason becomes Robin, but he is very reckless and violent. He stays as Robin for a while. Later, he gets captured by Joker. He is beaten mercilessly with a lead pipe by the Joker, and then later killed by a bomb that Joker planted. He is resurrected by Ra's Al Ghul's Lazarus Pit, and goes insane and becomes the Red Hood, a violent mercenary. Earth 2 Batman is a Batman from a parallel universe.

Do you think that Milo Ventimiglia would make a good Nightwing/Dick Grayson?

Maybe 20 years ago. Milo turns 40 in a few months, which means he'd be playing a Nightwing that is older than Batman.Nightwing is a legacy character. That means he is a second generation hero - a hero who exists because of the mentorship of a primary hero. So, to use Milo, the story would have to be set twenty years after he became Nightwing. Batman would be about 60. Not to say such a story couldn't be imagined, but all of the key story aspects of a legacy character - defining oneself separately from one’s mentor, becoming independent, forging one’s own path, coming of age - all of that would be in the past for this middle aged Nightwing.

Which would you rather see a Nightwing or a Grayson movie?

Nightwing. Period.Nightwing would be so much more deep and different from the average spy movie you'd get from a Grayson movie.Although I'd absolutely love a Nightwing movie, you really need a Batman movie first, and even after that, Warner isn't gonna give nightwing his own movie. What could work out is to make a series out of it, it'd fit in better with the Bludhaven arc, and would seem to be a better idea for all involvedThe series could also be the first “connected” to the movies and could move at a rate similar to the movies, but can run on its own (even a Batman movie that could feature a no man’s land like story could affect the series minimally) essentially all you'd have to do is place him in Blidhaven, and follow “a darker shade of justice” arc for the first seasonHe'd even be able to appear in both movie and series, similar to agent coulson in Agents of shield and other marvel movies, and could actually be pivotal in both the big and the small screenBut returning to the original question… yeah, nightwing any day

The Dark Knight Rises Question Who's John Blake ?

John Blakes character is a mash up of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake which were the three best Robins. I read this in an article last week. His full name is Robin John Blake but he chooses not to go by Robin. The Dark Knight Trilogy is really it's own story. It didnt really follow any other story from the Batman comics or series. He is the knew Dark Knight hence the title of the movie "The Dark Knight Rises". The title also aimed towards the fall of Batman and his come back after so many years. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (John Blake) has said he will be in a 2014 Batman movie that will be slightly connected with The Dark Knight Trilogy and then be in the 2015 Justice League movie playing Batman in both. Robin many times in the comics/old cartoon tv show has taken over for Batman. And nothing will ever happen to Robin. It doesnt matter if Robin becomes Batman, Nightwing or even if he were to somehow become Red Hood. Robin will always be Robin no matter what changes or character developments he goes through.
The Dark Knight Trilogy was not supposed to follow a storyline from a previous comic series. It is supposed to be it's own story and series.

not a rumor about Levitt in The Justice League. Levitt has confirmed that he will be in it.

Which Batman and Robin comic should I start with?

This really is a no-brainer for me.There’s only one place to begin:Robin: Year 1.If you want to get to know Robin as a character, then you ought to start here. It introduces us to the first Robin, Dick Grayson, and exemplifies his role in humanizing the brooding vigilante that is Batman. This next one may be just me, but I would also like to recommend reading Nightwing: Year 1. You can’t read about Dick Grayson joining Batman as the first Robin without reading about the fallout that led the two to break up. This story is the beginning of Nightwing, a story about Dick Grayson coming out of the nest, making his own way in the world, and finding independence.
