Why is stat tracker not working?
FIX STAT TRACKER I SPEND MONEY EVERY YEAR ON FANTASY AND YAHOO...... (I AM TALKING TO YOU) GETS SOME OF THE MONEY FOR WHAT?????? GET IT WORKING OR I GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SPEND MONEY. I HAVE 6 MONEY LEAGUES. SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT APPRECIATE MY BUSINESS MORE THAN YOU DO. YAHOO SUCKS *** RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!
Why is stat tracker not working?
There was another thread of this at: Is it just me or does Yahoo Sports Stat Tracker SUCK!? I posted the following on that thread: Geez, I thought it was just my computer or my connection. I'm still getting disconnected almost immediately after getting connected. So far - in effort to fix this I have taken the following steps: Rebooted, release/renewed IP address, flushed DNS, cleared browser cache, uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe Flash Player, Rebooted again, and searched multiple sources trying to find an answer. I'm sorry that other people are having the problem tonight, but I'm selfishly glad that I'm not alone in having the problem. I'm sure this was an "upgrade" that was applied before the end of the late games today.*sigh* I forgot that I tried to open Stat Tracker in IE and Firefox - both were unsuccessful. I also adjusted the popup settings, and added http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com as a trusted site. I don't know what else to try. Again, I'm sure this was a silly "upgrade". *************** Hopefully this "upgrade" will be fixed soon.

I don't know. The other yahoo fantasy football pages have taken forever to load. When I try to open stat tracker it takes me to a page asking me to sign up for it and then it says the 2012 season already started and I can't. This is so frustrating.

TO GET STAT TRACKER TO WORK, JUST INSTALL GOOGLE CHROME (FREE) THEN FROM THEN ON TO GET TO STAT TRACKER, YOU NEED TO GO TO GOOGLE CHROME FIRST TO GET IN. THEN GO TO STAT TRACKER. THAT SHOULD WORK.

i don't be attentive to. the different yahoo delusion soccer pages have taken constantly to load. when I attempt to open stat tracker it takes me to an internet site asking me to enroll for it and then it says the 2012 season already began and that i'm no longer able to. it somewhat is so problematical.
Does Stat Tracker work on iPad?
No it does not because stat tracker requiresflash and unfortunately the Apple iPhone & iPad does not support flash. There are ways around this like jailbreaking your phone and using a third party app to use flash but from personal experience they do not work that well and is not worth the headache. Good luck

Thanks for the answers. I did a few things. I updated my internet explorer just in case it wasn't the most recent addition, I deleted excess internet cookies, and I made sure flash player was up to date as well. I don't know which one did the trick or whether it was all 3 combined but it's finally working
While most of the answers here tell what the underlying logic is or what are similar tools available, I thought of doing a POC & sharing the steps & the outcomes with a hope that it helps people understand how it might be working.Personally speaking I’m not very comfortable with the idea of some third party tool having the permissions to add/modify the content I’m about to send. Moreover many of them add some kinda promotional label at the bottom of email which to the recipient anyhow reveals that the mail is being tracked & may not be so welcoming on the other end. So the idea of having your own tracker was even kinda cool for me. :DIdea of web beacon if very well known & this experiment relies on that. For those who are not familiar with the term - web beacon, its a way to signal some event over the internet. Apart from mail tracking, this idea is used in web analytics also. In this case the event is recipient opening the email.Idea is to hide a small 1x1 image (or any other static content) in the body of the mail being sent. When the user will open the mail, his browser will send a HTTP GET request to get that image from the server where its hosted. This will in turn leave some fingerprints on the server in form of the access logs, which can be parsed later to find out if the mail was opened.For this I have used pythonanywhere.com to host a 1x1 PNG image, HTTP GET request to this image will be a signal here. http://pythonanywhere.com provides a nice way to have a look at the access logs & an entry in the access logs will signal that the mail was opened. Apart from that I have used firebug to edit the content of the email & insert a HTML tag with the link to the hosted image. If you open such a mail as show original, you will find something like this

So on the web server what gets logged is Google’s IP & not client’s actual IP. This is good even w.r.t. clients because actual IP (thus identity) is not disclosed, not sure how other email clients would work.
