How do I become a music director?

Well!! I am trying the same!! I have learnt music (Hindustani Classical) and I am practising it. I am learning to play instrument Santoor for quite a long time now. Also I have keen interest in fusion music, A.R.Rehman, Yanni, Ud. Zakir Hussain etc... and I follow them a lot. I have learnt the softwares like Steinberg Nuendo/Cubase for composing & mixing tracks. I have used a few VST instruments etc..But how to become music director depends upon following factors -1. The most important factor is being in the field. You must start with assisting a good music director and doing some small things in composing music. Ads, short films, documentries etc.. You must have good conacts in the industry.2. You must have a good taste in all kind of music. In becoming a music director, the situation may demand anything. From a bar dance score to classical music piece. Hence, your music should suit the situations and should be people pleasing.3. Now a days, composing music is just not limited to knowing music. There is a lot of technology being used in composing music. Studio design, Recording, Microphones, Editing & Mixing softwares etc.. You must be able to use them efficiently.4. Initially you might have to work/struggle a lot. Some times work for free!! But then you should build your portflio and make contacts in the industry.I am doing a job in IT ( I had to!!) Hence I couldn't do music composing full time. But if you are dedicated to becoming a music director, then you should be pationate about it and should be welcome for struggle!!!

Why is surveying important in civil engineering?

DEFINITION:Surveying is the science and art of making all essential measurements to determine the relative position of points or physical and cultural details above, on, or beneath the surface of the Earth, and to depict them in a usable form, or to establish the position of points or details.OBJECTIVE OF SURVEYING:The aim of surveying is to prepare a map to show the relative positions of the objects on the surface of the earth. To collect field data.To prepare plan or map of the area surveyed. To analyze and calculate the field parameters for setting out operation of actual engineering works .To set out the field parameters at the site for further engineering works.GENERAL PRINCIPLE OF SURVEYING:The general principles of surveying are:To work from the whole to the partTo locate a new station by at least two measurements (linear or angular) from fixed reference points. The purpose of working from whole to part is “to localise the errors and to control the accumulation of errors”.According to the first principle, the whole survey area is first enclosed by main stations and main survey lines. The area is then divided into a number of divisions by forming well conditioned triangles.Example of work from the whole to the partUSES OF SURVEYING:For preparing the contour map to determine the best possible route and amount of earthwork required. For preparing the engineering map showing engineering details like highways, railways, canals, dams, reservoirs, etc.\Maps prepared for marking boundaries of countries, states, districts etc., avoid disputes. For preparing the topographical map which shows hills, rivers, forests, valleys, etc.For planning and estimating project works like roads, bridges, railways, airports, water supply and waste water disposal surveying is required.Marine and hydro-graphic survey helps in planning navigation routes and harbours. For preparing a military map showing different strategic points important for the defence of a country.Mine surveys are required for exploring mineral wealth. For preparing archaeological map showing the places where ancient relics may have lied.Astronomical survey helps in the study of movements of planets and for calculating local and standard times.Source:- Definition, objective, principle & uses of surveyingHope it helps
