Stood Outside In Negative Temp Schools I Go To The Doctors

How much blood loss does it take to get you light headed?

People have about 10 pints of blood circulating in their systems; when we donate blood, we donate a pint, which is 10% of our total blood volume. This amount of blood loss won't have any negative effect on a healthy person and will be made up in about 30 days.

You probably lost far less blood than it seemed. When we have nosebleeds (or any bleed, for that matter) it often appears as if we lost lots of blood, partly because of the visual shock of seeing all that bright red blood, and partly because the drips or stream of blood seems to saturate lots of tissue. In reality, nosebleeds seldom cause severe blood loss. I doubt that you lost anywhere near a pint of blood.

Signs and symptoms of anemia include shortness of breath, feeling markedly dizzy or light-headed, pale coloring (especially of the lips, red part of the eyes, and other mucous membranes). For future reference, if a nosebleed won't stop after 20 to 30 minutes you should call a doctor. I really think you'll be fine.

I am so positive I have anemia, but can't be tested under circumstances?

Alright I'm 13, 5'2, 130 pounds. Stopped growing, blah blah, only health problems I ever really had were inner ear and throat stuff like tinnitus and laryngitis like once every two years. :/

I have been having symptoms of anemia since my thirteenth birthday. They are;

Weakness
Lightheaded (Most frequent and severe symptom, nearly always feel like I'm going to pass out no matter what I do, standing up from when I sit my vision black out, can't breath, etc. )
Random speeds of my heartbeat throughout the day
Migraines every day for no apparent reason, even when I'm in a quiet room and totally hydrated. :/
Getting paler than usual at random times a few days at a time for no reason, no matter how much time I spend outside or inside.
Occasional leg cramps
Insomnia like there's no freaking tomorrow

I'm pretty active. I run the track at my school twice every day or so, run around and do nothing alot, ride my bike after school, play with my brothers... But for the most part I've got a pretty poor diet. Eating frozen foods from the refrigerator... I'd say the only healthy stuff I get is yogurt and cheerios. I don't eat much for the most part either. I'll have a bowl of cereal for breakfast with a yogurt, a cereal bar and some crackers for lunch, and random crap for dinner.

No matter how much I tell my parents I think there's something wrong with me, they insist that there isn't and refuse to even consider getting me tested for this. My biological mother, grandmother, and half sister also have anemia. I am positive I do, too. I haven't been to the doctor since February 2010 for a tonsillectomy, and I had a kidney stone in August 2010 before that cause I went on some crazy diet :/

Do you think that I'm right when I say I've got anemia? If you do, wouldn't the doctors have already caught it? And how could I convince my dad to get me to the hospital because he's so damn stubborn? I'm not allowed to buy any pills or vitamins without his permission, so, I don't know what to do. I'd appreciate your advice. :/

Always cold in school?

The teachers always turn on the air conditioner super high and make it really cold. I'm anorexic and really sensitive to the cold so it's like 80 degrees outside and i'm wearing sweaters and jackets and i am STILL cold in the classroom.

It's really uncomfortable and sometimes I can't concentrate because I keep on shivering.
What do I do? I tried to tell the teachers that it was cold in the classrooms and all of them ignore me and say if they turn off the air conditioner it will get hot.

At what temperature would humans freeze to death within less than five minutes?

I knew a lady who fell down an icey cliff and was stuck at the bottom frozen wet and unable to move. She said she lost about 3 stones in weight in the space of a few hours. So the body really does pull out all the stops for survival. In her case she was probably minutes away from death when she was rescued. It would probably depend on somones build too as to how long they can survive in freezing temperatures. A very thin person might go before a stout person with greater reserves.Another story was of a woman who was walking home in the snow and she got stuck in a blizzard. She collapsed and lay down in the road.Search teams eventually found her. When they did she was frozen solid. Her body was completely covered in ice and totally rigid. They took her back to hospital and set about thawing her. They did it gradually and to everyones amazement she woke up and was perfectly OK.It's amazing how the body can survive, her system must have gone into a hibernating mode to protect her.

HELP, bullied by the whole school?

Chasing stars, I truly feel for u. I know u want a really helpful answer or solution but seeing your situation their isn't much to say. Just ignore them and do what your username says chase stars. U have a bright future ahead and don't let peabrained ignorant stupid people bring u down just because they can't accept ur weight. To tell u the truth , probably half of those students have weight problems or any other problems. While u become something great, u'll be the one with the last laugh while their busy working a low paying job. So be proud of who u are and chase those stars. Good things happen to hose who wait. Also if you can do this, go to a local YMCA ( something like that) or volunteer for something outside school. Once you find people of a common interest with u, you'll won't worry about school anymor
don't hate your body, your a beautiful young lady who deserves a nice life. Some people just can't accept that. Somethings in life only make us stronger

Help..I hate my child?

I dont know what is wrong with me. The older my child gets, the more I hate her personality and it is to the point that I can't stand to be around her. She is not really a difficult child at all. I just can't stand her presence. I enjoy the fact that she is in school all day and when she comes home, I make her go to her room and do her homework and then I want her to immediately go outside and ride her bike or find something else to do. I get depressed thinking about the winter months. I tried to give my child up for adoption twice when she was a baby and the first time, my mother made me go and get her back from this temporary placement facility. And the second time I gave her to her father and my mother actually went and stole her back from him. But it is not like she wants custody of her herself. Anyways she is a really good kid and very smart, gets along well in school but I have a problem. I see a psychiatrist and I tell her about my situation but she really does nothing...cont
