Story Feedback The Book Is Currently On Watt Pad And I Wrote A Few Chapters Already And A Blurb.

How do I find an old story I've read on Wattpad?

It's best if you can recall the name of the book or the writer, put that in the watt pad search icon and you just might find it

What's the best way to promote a Wattpad novel?

Getting the initial reads on Wattpad may be a tough job to do.Ask your friends on Wattpad to read your work and vote (and/or comment). Votes, if got at the right time, can put you in the rankings and which in turn will put you on the What’s Hot list (for the particular genre).Ask people to read your work, only and only if they take reading requests (a lot of users specify it in their bio whether they take reading requests or not. If there’s nothing written there, ask them politely. If they say yes, tell them about your work, they’ll be happy to read it). Also, you can advertise your story on the Wattpad Clubs, but follow the guidelines for the thread.Read and vote for other people’s work. They’ll be happy to do the same for you. That’s all I guess. Happy Wattpad-ing and all the best for your work. Also: It’s alright if you don’t get reads as soon as you publish your work. That happens a lot and overnight success on Wattpad is a myth now.

What puts you off in Wattpad books?

Cliché plots!Being an Indian, I tried reading few books of Indian authors, thought I would be connected with the characters well! But then as I started reading them, I realised I'm just reading the written episodes of Hindi soaps! Like seriously? The major plot line I came across was the main leads having an arranged marriage and then bamm! They fall in love with in few days! And the way they go lovey dovey on each other! Gosh!!Every genre is having a cliché plot!Teen fiction- bad boy and the nerd!Romance- billionaire and his secretary!General fiction- arranged marriages, with both the leads having a past! One more thing what I observed is that such stories concentrate more on grand weddings, festivals, etc. Its Okay, if you want to signify Indian culture, but then when you tagged your story in romance or fiction, you need to even need the story to progress right right?I don't mean there are no good stories or good writers, but then what made me more sad is that the stories with such cliché plots have more reads! We are being made to think that life is a fairy tale! Where such trivial issues are the only problems!P.S : at the same time I've come across one of the best books on wattpad, from indian authors itself!I don't intend to hurt anyone's feelings, everyone has their own choices, and this is my opinion, I prefer having a really amazing plot, though it is written in simple vocabulary or has a few grammatical errors, they can be improved, but plot is the main essence right?Thank you!

How can I get readers for my  fan fiction stories?

Becoming famous on story sites is a real hit or miss. I know first hand because my shitty middle school fanfics with horrible grammar and atrocious story lines have over 100k reads while my more recent fics and stories (with much better planning and execution) barely rack up to 3,000 reads on Wattpad. To garner more readers for your stories, I would suggest broadcasting on Tumblr. Chances are, there are people scrolling around, looking for fandom material. I’ve read quite a few stellar stories that were “advertised” on Tumblr.Your best bet is http://Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own because their site format helps to gain readers. Wattpad - Stories You'll Love is a bit easier to write on (in my opinion) but you’re also up against stories that have millions of views and authors with a crazy number of subscribers.I think http://Fanfiction.net is the most easy to navigate and move around because you can clearly spell out what you want without having to really know the nitty gritty bits like AO3. Wattpad is also a good place to read, but it’s a bit hard wading through the flood of Harry Styles fics and Twilight fan-remakes.All in all, it’s hard to tell exactly what people want, so you just give it to them and hope for the best. Post your fic on all three platforms and maybe offer things for people who read. I once did a little giveaway on my page and offered one-shots and features for the winners. Thanks for the A2A! Hope this helped!
