Strabismus Working With Customers

Would TTK HCS insurance cover strabismus surgery?

I have finally decided to have strabismus surgery. Will my medical insurance cover it? I'm 26. From the research i've done most insurance companies will cover the surgery. I know i won't know for sure until the eye surgeon submits the claim/request. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this done and if the insurance covered it. I have TTK HCS , does anyone know if they cover it?

I've had customers ask me about my lazy eye/Bell's palsy twice in the last week. I'm a cashier. How should I respond to this? My face doesnt interfere with my job or ability to communicate.

Tell them the truth. There is nothing to be ashamed of.I got Bell’s palsy this past summer and man it was a roller coster for me. I was at work when I first boticed the symptoms and my manager and coworkers were all freaking out with me. We all thought I was either having a stroke or an allergic reaction so they called 911.I went to the bospital and diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. I was so afraid what others would think, but I went back to work and my coworkers were by my side. Some of them were ready to be at the hospital for me. They told me that if anyone made a rude remark about how I looked that they would beat them up for me.I get it, everytime you look in the mirror you see the faults. Every time people stare you wish the groun could swallow you up. I am here to tell you that there is nothing to be ashamed about it. It is just a stupid medical condition that foes bot even hinder you at being the best person you can be. Now people will ask and ot will get annoying. It is none of their buisness, but they ask anyway. Just be honest and if someone gives a hard time for it, send them my way and my coworkers and I will have a little chat.(I am not saying people I work with are violent people and are looking to do harm to others. We just look out for each other.)

How do I stop thinking that I am not worthy of love and connections because my right eye has a squint issue or a strabismus?

Hi. I have a same situation like you have, I have been suffering for long time since I was getting to know something about my eyes, I was afraid of lot of things, every time I talked to others, they were always trying to confirm if I was talking to them or someone elses behind them, that made me feel sad and nervous, so basically I don't want to look into them eyes when I’m talking to others, because of that I am not confidence about myself my future even my life, and the worthy of love.but what I can tell you is, you’re definitely worthy of love and no one is more worthy than you in this planet, you have to believe that. because I have a girlfriend, I mean, very beautiful one. she came to me after I tried to accept the fact of my eyes and tried very hard to be confidence and optimistic, facing the daily life as a cherish gift from the God and destiny……from now I am still struggling for my eyes, sometimes feel lonely and frustrated, but every time I had this feeling, I will tell myself that I am the only “myself” in this world. the reason why I am ME, is because this is me. forget about the other’s opinion and focus on your inner heart, tell yourself you are the most beautiful girl, smile more, happy more!I am willing talk to you if you want.

Is it dangerous to shine the lasers in laser tag in one's eye?

Laser Tag doesn’t usually use lasers - it uses transmitters (LEDs) on the target’s body, and the rifle is a sensor with a focussing lens and a very narrow field of view that can detect this transmitter only when it’s pointing straight at it.Although this sounds backwards, it’s far easier to receive the signal over long distances this way, and is more reliable and accurate than sending a beam of light out from the gun instead - though cheaper toy versions might actually send light since that eliminates the need for a radio link between the shooter and the target - but longer range laser tag guns are infrared sensors, not emitters. When the gun receives the signal from the target, it knows it’s pointing at a target, and can identify that target, so it sends that target a signal saying it’s just been hit if the trigger is pulled at that time.If you got a programmable remote control, theoretically you could save a copy of every target, find a dark, quiet hiding place, and shoot the remote control for an entire game instead of the target, and the targets would never work out who was hitting them or where they were hiding. As a result, the lasers on laser tag are mostly for show - they tend to be very low power, around a few mW at most and usually below 1 mW which are pretty safe. While it will appear bright to the person who gets it in their eye, it shouldn’t have the energy to do any damage. It’s always possible someone will put a bigger laser on it during maintenance or out of foolishness, but I wouldn’t normally expect that to happen. If there’s a green laser, it might be indicative of that since green lasers are quite dangerous - cheap ones can put out a lot of energy in the infrared that would be damaging to the eye.But smaller red ones that aren’t that bright are harmless.

I have a squint eye and am very insecure about making eye contact. How can I cope with working at a place where there is daily public interaction?

Most people are very much concerned about how others see them and their perceived flaws. For myself I worry about fluctuating weight, getting older, one eye appears smaller than the other because it is weaker. I worry about my imperfections, will notice others’ but don’t judgethem as much as myself.Just be interested in doing the best job possible in helping the public. Excellent customer service, a smile, wanting to problem solve, that is what will stay in their minds.

Why do some people assume servers have low intelligence?

It’s nothing more than a superiority complex that ignorant people create in their mind. If you give into it then the power these pricks think they have established over you is assumed and misinterpreted to be lack of intellect. Simply be smarter than they are and never allow yourself to be abused. My grandfather was a top waiter in SF during the 20’s having worked in the finest restaurants the City had to offer. Honestly, I have no idea how he endured the abuse he no doubt must have for an entire career. First pompous asshole I ran into would have his plate of food dumped in his lap only after a good bitch slap. My first day would have been my last.I do recall as a punk kid out of college working at the Bohemian Grove where one Globalist prick pulled me aside and lecture me on how I was there to serve. I guess he thought I was having too good a time. I shrugged it off at the time. Took their money, ate their finest cuisine, drank their finest wines, smoked their best cigars. Serve this ya bastard!

Why can’t people with Asperger syndrome make eye contact? Is it scary for them? Do they get an intense indescribable feeling when they make eye contact? What goes through their mind or what do they feel when they make eye contact?

Being autistic is doing constant emotional labor. We can make eye contact; it’s just distracting and uncomfortable. It’s like an NT could maintain a polite conversation with a pinched nerve; it’s just more difficult to do so. Autistic people receive a much greater volume of stimulus all the time; as much as 400% more resting brain activity than neurotypicals. As a result, eye contact causes unease and feels awkward. For some ASD individuals it’s even worse and looking at someone in the eyes is like staring into a lightbulb that burns into their brain.Often, eye contact just isn’t necessary because it floods Autists with information and can overwhelm us. Psychology calls this The Intense World Theory. In short, ASD individuals get information easily and quickly and don’t need to maintain eye contact for the purposes that most people do. It might feel unnatural to you or feel like we are lying or otherwise have a reason that we cannot look you in the eye. The reality is that many of our mannerisms are different in this manner because of the workarounds that we create to survive in your world.I’ve trained myself to maintain eye contact by going through the motions intellectually. I don’t actually look people in the eyes but I create a similar effect. I find reasons and natural ways to give myself reprieve every few seconds, like picking up a drink or giving a treat to my service dog, or gesticulating with my hands, or writing something down. By maintaining constant motion, I can create some relief for myself without staring at the floor, for example. In environments where eye contact is not expected, I am much more relaxed and not exhausted afterwards because I don’t need to exert the emotional effort to simulate a neurotypical experience for others.
