I have had 5 phones on Straight talk, the customer service will help you switch, you will need the info on the phone like serial number, and depending on the phone and towers in your area you may need a new SIM card, GSM, CDMA, LTE service? The main problem is if you do not have a SIM card with the address book from the old phone that you can use on the new one, you will have to hand enter all the names and numbers to the new phone.

You can definitely do that, as I have done that myself. What I would do is contact Straight Talk customer service, and explain that you want to give your grandma one of your old phones, give them what information that they want, and then reprogram the phone when the service rep instructs you to. Make sure that the phone works for your grandmother before you end the call with the Straight Talk service rep, as it will save you the headache of having to jump through those hoops to talk to a service rep in the event that the activation failed.

means is the system has not updated yet,it is still transferring your payment so do not cancel., just be patient, if your patients runs out please give them a call and see if they can speed it up or what the delay is. be warned, its not an enjoyable experiencing talking to the reps at straighttalk, from my experience they are hard to understand and get me frustrated quickly. Is the phone you are looking to buy unlocked...meaning, is it out of a contract? Straight Talk requires that a phone be unlocked in order for one of their SIM cards to work properly. The good news is that the Samsung Galaxy s3 is a GSM phone, which is also a Straight Talk requirement. I would, however, still call Straight Talk customer support just in case to confirm that it will work. Would hate to have you buy a phone that ultimately won't work!
