How can I treat a calf pain after an ACL surgery?

It depends what is causing the pain. It COULD be that the muscles and tendons have shrunk or atrophied and each step is stretching them back out and they don’t want to go.First, I would tell your doctor then your PT. I would suggest contrast baths (both legs - use trash pails) to loosen everything up and get the circulation going. Then maybe deep tissue massage and mild stretches though, a deep tissue massage will stretch everything out and break up and scar tissue and clots and you won’t have to do a thing.I had the same issue. Just take your time, don’t rush the healing. It will happen. Listen to your therapist. Don’t push it. Even though I was jogging in a month (those bastards), it wasn’t until about six months that I was pain free, a year that I was normal and two years when I forgot I ever had the surgery. It took me a long time to forget and fully trust my knee.-Malcolm (Wimp).

Why does one of my knees sound like popping corn when I bend or straighten it?

There are many reasons why the knee can click and pop.  Sometimes the answer to this question can be totally benign or times more serious.  A meniscal tear will click - pop but most likely also catch / lock at a specific point when you are bending and straightening your knee.  Also there is a condition in which a meniscus may be abnormally shaped known as discoid meniscus that causes audible popping. Arthritic issues can cause your body to lay down  excess bone within or near joint surfaces that can cause excess friction. There are a number of more benign causes such as muscle groups around the knee that can become aggravated by inflammation and partial tears along insertion sites.  Common examples are iliotibial band friction syndrome,  snapping biceps femoris (ham string) over its insertion site of the fibula.

Whenever I sit with my legs folded, it pains my knees after a certain time. What could be the cause and a remedy?

There are many reasons behind the knee pain eg - ligament issue / muscle pain / bones pain / nerve pain. Best way to find out is various tests on the knees and then get a clear answer as assumption is mother of all $crew ups.Any knee pain to be cured i would have to examine myself personally to assist but general way to make knee healthy if there is level 1 pain, sit on chair or sofa where your back of the knees are connected to sofa/chair & with your inhalation lift the leg up & exhaling leg down. This shall strengthen the knee muscles & practicing everyday for 5mins with small breaks upto 1 month will give you awesome results.Namasteronak

Does a ruptured ligament grow back?

Sadly, no. So, save your shark cartilage and other miracle nostrum money.Your body rebuilds damaged tissue through BLOOD. Ligaments have very little blood supply to them so when they are torn, there is no way for the body to fix them. If it is a minor tear, they can scar down but that is not a good option for active people because scar tissue doesn’t stretch. However, today only, I’m selling a miracle ligament growth cure for only TWENTY TWO CENTS (plus $79.99 shipping and handling). These pills are guaranteed to grow ligaments within 77 years or your money back guaranteed. This ancient miracle cure comes from armpit hair scrapings of the Japanese Beetle. What causes a pulsating knee?

You should have a pulse in the back of your knee(This area is known as the popliteal Fossa) the main blood supply to your lower leg runs through the back of the knee. You are unable to feel a pulse at the front due to the patella but you should be able to feel a pulse in the back - this is normal anatomy. If it is very different from the other knee then I would suggest a visit to your family doctor as other things can occurYou did not mention pain in the knee so I will not dwell on the painful knee and you did not mention mobility problems. You did not mention any trauma recently nor previously. As long as your lower leg is normal size, colour and non tender I would not be alarmed. But if you have a concern visit your family doctor for a check up

Can the inside of your knee hurt when sleeping sideways with the other knee on top?

Sure. When you sleep, gravity is still acting on your body. The force isn’t as much, but it’s there.I’ll start with a less common example. Say you sprain your medial collateral ligament (MCL:The MCL is located on the inside of the knee. This is one way you might sprain it:Notice the knee caving inside the hip and foot (we’re really stretching the MCL violently, causing the sprain):So you can imagine then, the knee is going to be sensitive to that motion. Where, if you sleep like this -knee inside the rest of the body- it might not feel great:You’re effectively re-creating the motion of the stretch / sprain, albeit at a much lower intensity, but you don’t need to do as much to irritate an injury as you did to cause an injury. The more common example is someone who, while they didn’t have the intense motion causing a MCL sprain, they do have a bunch of low intensity motions of the same variety. For instance, whenever they get up and down out of a chair, their knees do this,(They cave in.)Or whenever they sit, their knee(s) are inside the feet:In other words, you can think of it like an overuse injury. If a person has sensitivity to a certain motion even while sleeping, they may very well be doing that motion a lot during the day. Where even the lesser force of their bodyweight while laying down is enough to irritate them. (Similar to how walking can eventually become irritating even if the overuse injury occurred from running.)I personally ask every client how sleep feels for them, and often ask them to adjust their sleep positioning to more friendly joint positioning,Correcting a swayback posture by...changing how you sleep? An example of how important your sleep positioning can beSleep with less pain...Tonight
