Strange Headache On Top Left Side Of Head

How can I treat a headache on the left side of the head above the ear?

I am writing this based on 30 years of my own experience of reducing migraine headaches sans medicines. So, this is a proven method, which can be used by all migraine-affected people, with zero side effects. It reduces the frequency of migraine attacks substantially, for sure. Here is my simple but very very effective remedy to prevent/reduce migraine headaches:always cover your eyes with a good-quality pair of sunglasses & also cover your head with a comfortable cap/hat, whenever you go out in the sun/in any kind of glare. Wear the sun-glasses & the cap/hat all the time when you are outdoors, or when you feel that the glare is too much to bear;Eat something at your daily-intake times, without exceptions. What you eat & how much you eat is secondary. What is vital is to feed your stomach at regular intervals, or at/around the time you normally consume food everyday. This eradicates the ill-effects of bile & prevents headaches;Do not keep awake late at night. Ideally, a 11 pm to 6 am sleep is desirable. Also, try to stick to your daily routine, to the extent feasible & avoid erratic daily routines as far as you can;Keep stress as low/less as feasible. Try your best & then, accept the results coolly. Worrying over what is beyond your control is a invitation to migraine headaches;Have more fruits, salads, nuts & other natural foods. Avoid processed/non-veg./fried foods, or consume as less of it as may be possible; For peace of mind, do meditation (focus on breathing) daily, morning & night. Vipassana meditation is very good;Keep this attitude as regards the results, after putting in your best efforts: 0% expectations & 100% acceptance. This will reduce stress & thus, reduce the frequency & intensity of headaches. Do your best & then, accept the outcome with grace & equanimity. This attitude will reduce headaches.

Headache on my right side of my head?

There could be a lot of reasons.
Since you mentioned it's on the right side of your head, you could have accidentally bumped it somewhere, or it could be due to stress.

Take it easy for awhile, maybe try some headache pills. If it's not working out, you should consult a doctor.

Pounding headache on the right side of my head?

Severe, stabbing pain on top left side of head...help!!?

I've been having extremely severe stabbing pains on the top left side of my head for the past week. It's very strange, nothing I've ever felt before. I wouldn't call it a headache, because it's not a steady pain. Its an extremely sudden pain in one specific spot that lasts a few seconds, and they usually happen about 20 seconds apart...sometimes there's a 5 minute break where i think it's gone away, and then it suddenly comes back. What's weird about it is that it almost always hits only at the end of the day, around 5 or 6 pm, and lasts until 8 or 9 pm. There was only one day that it started earlier, at around 1:30 pm, and then lasted still until 8 or 9. I've tried googling left sided head pain, and all i come up with is brain tumor!! I don't want to assume the worst, but I also don't want to assume it's nothing if it could be something serious. Any guesses or advice or anything?? I tried going to urgent care, but the people there didnt know anything and were no help at all. I'm desperate for answers...the pain is so severe and sudden it literally makes me jump since it comes out of nowhere and is so unbearable!...it's like someone taking a kitchen knife and trying to slice down on my head!! Please help! Thank you!

Headache in back of head, hurts a lot when I shake my head side to side.?

Headaches are caused by tight neck muscles in the neck. The muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles that go around the head. When the neck muscles are tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your headache. The pains in the back of your head are right off the muscles themselves and when you aren't moving you aren't putting the pressure on the muscles to cause pains which happens when you move you head. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your neck muscles to get the pressure off the muscles in the neck and here's how to free them up:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After about 30 to 45 seconds, when you don’t feel the muscles releasing any longer, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. This should help with the migraines as well.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

The left side of my head hurts when I move around. What could it be?

Fun fact of the day : you have no pain or sensory receptors in your brain. So you can't actually feel damage to the brain , even if a giant parasitic worm is eating it as we speak.  This is also why we can do awake open brain surgery. The closest sensory receptors to the brain are in the covering over the brain (the meninges).  These bit has blood vessels , dura , fibrous tissue and the works. In fact, when people get migraines , the pain is often coming from blood vessel pain receptors in the meninges and definitely not coming from inside any hemisphere of the brain .Now it's completely possible to shake your head so hard that you bruise the brain (this is why people who shake their babies are often thrown in jail).  The brain sort of floats in the skull cavity and there is room for compression .  This is less of a problem for side to side shaking and more a problem for front to back shaking because along the back of the skull where the occipital lobe rests are ridges which can tear into the occipital lobe if the brain is shaken hard.  But like I said, even if you were shaken so hard (like on a poorly designed roller-coaster, or car accident ) that you ripped your occipital lobe on the back of your skull, you still wouldn't feel it. So as to why one side of your head feels different than the other : all I can say is the problem is most likely not in your brain. It could be due to oversensativity in the meninges .  It could also be from something in the inner ear.

Weird headache when i move my head...why?

Any head ache that may be minor to modest, not coupled with some other symptoms, and reacts with home treatment within a couple of hours may well not need to have more assessment or screening, especially when this has happened in the past. A tension head pain uncovers absolutely no uncommon conclusions using a neurological test. Nonetheless, soft points on the muscle tissue in many cases are affecting the neck and shoulder joint places. The health care provider needs to be consulted, to eliminate several other issues that causes headaches, in the event the head ache is actually considerable, prolonged i.e. is unable to go away), or maybe some other signs or symptoms are present with the headache. Head aches that will disturb sleep, occur whenever you are active, or which can be frequent might require evaluation along with therapy by a health care provider.
