What should you do if a stranger knocks on your front door at 2AM?
A stranger once pounded on my door late at night. I looked through the window and it was a woman who was so upset she was almost incoherent. She told me she had just escaped from two abductors. There was a car with a door open and the motor running across the street. I wasn't going to open the door, but she pleaded and said she had almost no clothes on. I changed my mind and let her in. I had her sit down, gave her a blanket, and called the police. It turned out that she had been abducted that morning in a store parking lot and driven around in her own car until the rapists abandoned her and the car in front of my house. She managed to get herself untied and out of the car and to my door. The police came, and eventually an ambulance. The woman was traumatized and terrified so I rode with her to the emergency room. Two detectives gave me a ride back. The two detectives told me that it was a mistake to open my door. She could have had accomplices waiting hidden. But what would it be like to be in this woman's situation and to be left shivering on someone's doorstep waiting for the police to arrive? Many strangers have helped me in my life. I would never tell you to open your door to a stranger in any situation. There are people who perpetrate scams by pretending to be in distress. You have to keep safe. But I am glad that I was there when this woman needed help.
Strange knocking sounds outside my boyfriend's house?
Why in the world would you start to think that it's something paranormal? Just because you can' think of a normal explanation for something? That's called argumentum ad ignorantum, and it's a famous as well as common logical fallacy. Just because you can't imagine how something happens does not mean it's impossible, and the default belief should never be that something's supernatural. There are any number of animals or insects that can make this type of sound, so why would you lean toward a paranormal answer when a natural one is vastly more likely? . Just last night heard a strange tapping sound coming from a bedroom in my mon's house. It sounded like someone tapping on a drum, one beat every five or six seconds. If I couldn't identify the cause of the sound, should I assume it's something from an invisible realm intruding into the real world? Of course no, that's just silly. As it happened, I was able to easily identify the sound--it was just a faucet drip being amplified by the bottom of the shower insert, which apparently is hollow. At no time was I afraid, because I know there is virtually always a natural explanation for such things, even if Ifind myself unable to identify it myself. There's no reason you should treat your world any differently than treat mine. . It's always a mistake to attribute supernatural characteristics to anything that has even a remote chance of being natural. Even the least plausible natural explanation is far likelier than the most plausible supernatura one, if there even is such a thing. . . . .
Just moved in with my boyfriend and his mom... the things they do make me feel a little uncomfortable...?
Wow.. (flashback.!!) i was living with a guy about 6 years ago, his relationship with his mom was also weird... We lived in the back house right, well in the night time (while we were having sex) the lady would knock on the door, but if no one opened she would walk around to the other side and CLIMB in through the window and just walk into the room like nothing was going on... Worst part is, he would get out of bed BUTT *** NAKED and deal with the lady... I got fed up and left him... I think that's just a bit too much love for my taste... Ughhhhhhh scarrrry..! good luck... Reply... Hey, yeah i think its me you referred to... well let me tell you it doesn't get any better... There was one time when we were getting ready for a family party, This Creeeeepo lady came and suggested i wear here Perfume, i politely declined, she said "trust me, Ernie loves this perfume, it turns him on" i was like WTF..!!! i still can't believe she said that to me... (Right now i went back in shock lol) Ughhhh just remembering all the crap i put up with pisses me off... Don't get me wrong, i love families that get along and that are united, but there are just boundaries that are not to be crossed... When i finally spoke out and told him i thought it was very disturbing and i was not comfortable with the whole atmosphere, was because i came home from work and i walk into our back house and i find him laying on our bed no pants or undies on, his mom was going to administer a suppository into his but because he was having problems going to the bathroom... I'm sorry but if they didn't have a problem with that, i did..! this lady got all offended because i said i wasn't ok with the situation and from there the problems lead us to eventually split... so don't feel bad about speaking out, better to know now if he's going to have your back or not... =)
What should I do, my daughter upstairs is moaning with her boyfriend?
I had the exact same experience with this except for it was my brother and his girlfriend.Every other day when our parents were gone, she would come over and I would hear moaning in my brother’s room. What I did was when she started moaning, I played loud porn on my phone.Then I slid the phone under the door and said, “You should take lessons from HER!”I heard an awkward silence in the room and then a, “I gotta go. We can pick this up at my house later.”Then she left.Forever!Although my brother started spending more time at his girlfriends house, I was able to enjoy a moan-free house.“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” Making people smile one answer at a time!
What does being awaken by unreal knocking mean?
Last night while I was sleeping, I was awoken when I thought I heard 3 really loud knocks on my front door. So I ran to the door, thinking it was my boyfriend and opened it. Then I saw nobody there, and I woke up a little and thought "What am I doing here?.." I went back to bed and saw it was really dark outside. Checked the time and it was 3:50 am. Why do you think this happened? Is it stress?
Is it ok to ignore a stranger at my front door?
Last night at 8 PM I'm making dinner and I hear my doorbell ring. Then a few knocks. I look outside and it's a 90s SUV running in front of my driveway and I don't know anyone who drives that car so I just ignore the knocking and keep cooking my steak. They can see someone's home so they keep knocking. I just ignore it because I'm not expecting anyone, they could be a solicitor, and anyone who knows me has my # and doesn't need to knock on my door unexpectedly. So eventually they go away and I check the door and see a letter addressed to me is there. I guess they got my mail, but WHY do they personally deliver it? That seems ridiculous and shady because it was 8 PM and I'd rather they just put it back in their mailbox and I can wait a day to get it...also they could have just let it blow away. I live in a "ghetto" neighborhood because I'm a college student and it's closer to campus so I do avoid the neighbors because they generally live a ghetto lifestyle. Also I've had wierd strangers at my door in the past such as an 8 year old girl by herself who knocked and asked "Do I flip houses?"...and I had the neighbor pound on the door for an hour once starting a 4 am because "she needed a ride because her boyfriend got arrested with her car." I feel like they wanted a reward or something for delivering my mail because who does that? When I get mail not addressed to me, it goes back in the mailbox, flag up.
What to do when my boyfriend becomes abusive when extremely drunk?
No matter how much you love him, leave him... now. Alcoholics are always alcoholics and he will destroy you completely. It's hard to do, but you MUST do it and start again to look for love. There are loads of healthy guys out there who want to share a positive life. You are going to forever regret not listening to me if you don't split from him immediately. Very, very, very few drunks quite drinking and if they do, most of them go back on it again when they get tough times. I lived with a drunk, was abused, and finally left. Best thing I ever did in my life. Tough at first but fund a great woman two years later and we've been together now for 10 years. My life before was a living hell! I wasted many years trying to help my alcoholic wife - all to no avail. I feel for you and that's why I am bothering to write. Leave. What would you do if someone knocked on your window in the middle of the night, and your bed is by the window?
My first thought was, that would be very weird… I live in a third floor with no balcony. Is this a flying vampire?!But to be serious, I am surprise that so many people writes here that they would immediately freaked out/call the police.I cant imagine this sort of polite murderer or burglar that would knock before attempting his job. Knocking is a request to enter which means that you have a control over a situation. You can give permission to enter or not. I don't see a reason to get scared just yet. I see many possibilities why someone could knock to a window of my apartment (assuming that its on a ground floor)Family member forgot his key and his or mine phone is not working.Someone had an accident on the street and he knock first window to ask for helpSomeone is making a stiupd jokeSomeone made a mistake, and thought that its his home.Etc.Honesty, I would be probably to lazy to get up, as I usually like to sleep in the middle of the night. I would try to ignore it first. Only if knocking repeat or won’t stop I would go to check who is this and just after that decide if it’s a time to panic or not.
Someone keeps knocking on my window late at night....?
Ok well this past week, this has happened twice. Last night I was home alone at about 9:30 PM in my room when I heard four knocks on the siding of our house right below my window. I knew it wasn't an animal because it was four distinct knocks as if someone was knocking on the door. So I was kinda freaked out so I called my friend to come pick me up. Today I found out from our neighbor that someone had knocked on the side of his house to. How can we catch this person/people?
