Its not time for my monthly either. - i had a baby about 2 1/2 months ago, if it helps anyone's diagnosis. What is this sharp pain in my upper abdomen?

Hi Carla,
This can't be diagnosed with any certainty online, because for any set of symptoms and history as you describe, there are numerous possibilities. You really need an MD examination in person to have a better chance of getting it right. I'm not a doctor, and I'm pretty confident hardly anyone else answering questions here is either. But even an MD here would want to see you in person and know your complete medical history and have the benefit of labs and images to get this right. Just one doctor or nurse question/your answer, or press on your abdomen/chest, or lab/image finding, could change what an MD would say was likely causing this. There is no substitute for getting this checked in person by trained and experienced professionals.

But I can advise you as to a couple of the things a doctor would think of first to check out, if that helps. When you say coffee (= caffeine = stimulant, plus acid) and pizza (= tomato sauce = acid), I think of acid reflux or heartburn. Also possible is a hiatal hernia (part of your stomach protruding up through your abdominal lining). Either condition would account for this, but acid reflux is statistically much more common than hernia. You can't rule out a cardiac condition (or even appendicitis, pelvic organ, gallbladder or liver or bile duct, muscle or spine issue) from this either--they're commonly confused by patients and even medical pros at first glance based on the patient description of what's happening-- but it does sound most likely from your description food/digestive system-related. Sometimes it turns out to be the unexpected though. There are always other possibilities too.

Since your pain is sharp, and your concern about it is fairly high, I'd get it checked by a doc in person if at all po$$ible. Chances are high it's nothing serious, but as you realize, it could be, and being safe is best. Even acid reflux, if it becomes a chronic issue, can cause serious trouble. Better to treat it earlier than later if you can.

Wishing you good luck, great care, and an end to this annoyance soon.

Strange Stomach Pain?

I have this really bad stomach pain. It seems ok, as long as I don't eat, but I have to eat, I can't starve. As soon as I eat and the food hits my stomach, I get this overwhelming pain, that kinda burns, and it only last for about 10 seconds, then stops. When I take another bite of food, it's the same thing all over again. Sometimes even when I don't eat, I still have this pain. Last night, the pain was so bad it woke me up 3 times in the middle of the night. It hurts when I drink as well, even when it's plain water. This has been going on for about 3 or 4 days. I'M FRICKEN HUNGRY, and I can't eat. Could this be something serious, like an ulcer? Anyone with any advice, please help me!

Strange "pulled muscle" type pain in lower abdomen. Contractions?

I am 39 weeks pregnant. I have read everything. I know all of the basic answers to "what will contractions feel like?" But, this is my second child and with my first I was already in the hospital when I started to have Pitocin induced contractions and from what I can remember, the pains I've been having are the same as those were. So, aside from the usual lower back pain, menstrual type pain, baby balling up feeling answers; can anyone tell me what their contractions felt like. I just had such an intense tight feeling in my abdomen that it felt like I pulled the muscles just above my groin.

Strange pulsing feeling in abdomen 38 weeks pregnant?

I have a pulse in my tummy (dunno if everyone does) so maybe you do to & baby is lying in position that pulse is obvious. Before i was pregnant I could sometimes see my tummy pulsating. Still see it now when baby in weird position. xx

Strange pain between my shoulder/tricep area?

The shoulder area is complicated in the sense that you have a lot of muscles coming together in one area. Your rotator cuff and glenoid head (as well as bicep and tricep muscles) all meet there. I doubt it is a skeletal issue (broken bone, etc.), which means you are dealing with a muscle problem. It could be caused by overuse of certain muscles (military presses can be tough on this area) or poor lifting technique. I would recommend writing down the work out that you follow and taking it to an orthopedic surgeon. If it is serious enough they might order an MRI to look at it. My guess is they will be able to solve it with new technique and physical therapy.

Trainers are good for training, but this is an issue for an MD.

I’ve been feeling this strange pain somewhere in my very lower left abdomen. It runs on the left of my male organ towards my thigh. Been happening for around last month. What could it be?

Go see a doctor, look on Quora at wether anybody has ever been misdiagnosed, you’ll find countless stories, these are mostly people who have been to the doctor or hospital, had trained professionals looking at them and still been diagnosed incorrectly. How can you expect anyone, medically trained or not, to correctly diagnose when you have listed 1 symptom that could be caused by any number of afflictions.Rather than have someone tell you, with no way of knowing, you will improve following a certain treatment and risk it being of no help whilst the situation potentially becomes worse, you should get the relevant tests done so you know the treatment will.If they get it wrong, at least you can’t blame the doctor, if you are relying on the internet, you have only yourself to blame if you don’t seek treatment and end up causing permanent damage.

Unusual pain in lower left abdomen during sex?

In many cases, a woman can experience pain during sex if there is not sufficient vaginal lubrication. When this occurs, the pain can be resolved if the female becomes more relaxed, if the amount of foreplay is increased, or if the couple uses a sexual lubricant.

In some cases, a woman can experience painful intercourse if one of the following conditions is present:

Vaginismus. This is a common condition in which there is a spasm in the vaginal muscles, mainly caused by the fear of being hurt.
Vaginal infections. These conditions are common and include yeast infections.
Problems with the cervix (opening to the uterus). In this case, the penis can reach the cervix at maximum penetration, so problems with the cervix (such as infections) can cause pain during deep penetration.
Problems with the uterus. These problems may include fibroids that can cause deep intercourse pain.
Endometriosis. A condition in which the endometrium (tissue lining the uterus) grows outside the uterus.
Problems with the ovaries. Such problems might include cysts on the ovaries.
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. The tissues deep inside become badly inflamed and the pressure of intercourse causes deep pain.
Ectopic pregnancy. A pregnancy in which a fertilized egg develops outside of the uterus.
Menopause. The vaginal lining can lose its normal moisture and become dry.
Intercourse too soon after surgery or childbirth
Sexually transmitted infections. These may include genital warts, herpes sores or other STDs.
Injury to the vulva or vagina. These injuries may include a tear from childbirth or from a cut (episiotomy) in the perenium (area of skin between the vagina and the anus) that is made during labor.

go to a doc to make sure you r ok

Pain that feels like it's in the fatty tissue of my abdomen...?

Within the last few days, I have been experiencing a strange pain on one spot of my stomach. It's to the left of my belly button. It feels like a bruise and only hurts sometimes. It hurts when i push on it, or if the waist band of my pants puts pressure on the area, but other times, it's so senstive that it huts just to run my hand over the area. I know it's not a pulled muscle because I can flex them and they aren't sore. This pain seems to be above the muscle...like it's in the fatty tissue. I dont see or feel any bumps, so I assume it's not a hernia. I'm just baffled and can't find anything on the internet that sounds like this.

Any thoughts? And I do plan to make a doc appointment, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, because I have a feeling the doc won't have a clue and will just want to run all kinds of tests which I'm not looking forward to.
