Stretched My Side The Wrong Way

My Abs and my Sides hurt whenever I stretch - it's been a week since the workout?

It has been a full week since I started working out for the first time in 2 years. I went to the gym with my roomate who is trying to get me kick-started into a healthier lifestyle. He basically pushed me in everything I did for my first 3 days - and keep in mind, I havent worked out in 2 years.

It has now been a week and I am still sore in my abdominal area, and my pectoral area - two areas where I believe I may have pulled a muscle.

Is it normal to feel this type of pain in my abs and on my sides a full week after working out for the first time in years? Or should the soreness go away in 3 days?

I also notice that I go to the bathroom more often - which makes me think that maybe I worked out my abs so much taht I may have upset something in the gastro area.

I am perfectly functional (meaning I can walk and do normal things), but whenever I twist the wrong way or even stretch, it feels awkward.

Any input would suffice

I have just noticed stretch marks on one side of my back about half of the way down...?

stretch marks happen when your body stretches either horizontally (weight gain, pregnancy) or vertically (growing tall) beyond your natural skin elasticity (ability to stretch). It is usually genetic, some people are more prone to it than others. It can occure anywhere, most places for men (even if they are thin and not too tall) are around the hips, back, calves, in body builders the upper arms.
In women, hips, thighs, breasts, tummies and shoulders and forearms. So basically it's more common than you think.

If your stretch marks are recent (red/pink) you should immediatly start applying a rich moisturizer such as coconut or cocao butter or vitamin E oil to help your skin heal and rebuild the broken tissues.

Stretchmarks do not go away, but if treated early they can fade away greatly. If they are old, they will stay there, but keeping your skin toned will help you look and feel better.
Don't panic it's normal! my man has it too on his lower back and he was never fat and is as tall as you are!

I am a 23-year-old man and my body is covered in stretch marks from my stomach to my arms. How can I stop feeling ashamed and insecure about my body?

I’m a 24 yr old female and I’ve had stretch marks on my ass and thighs since high school.. When I first got them it was really red and noticable. I’ve also been skinny my whole life I only weight 105 pounds so my first, then boyfriend in freshman year thought it was strange that I had so many stretch marks covering my entire ass.. and yes he picked on me for having them. But he was also an awful boyfriend who treated me horribly the whole time we were together and later apologized many years later.Anyway, fast forward to 10 years later and they have faded significantly over time you can barely see them. I have not done anything special, I just left them alone. My current boyfriend does not even notice them. Although you can still see many white veiny lines if you look closely. Not a big deal though.Yours should fade over time in a couple years. But even if it doesn’t most people don’t notice scretch marks and if they do most don’t care. I have a guy friend my age who has a very nice muscular body, he constantly works out and gets bigger muscules in his arms and as a result developes tons of scretch marks (arm area) from getting big too fast.. I still think he looks good even with the marks. Even though he was always shirtless, I never noticed them until he pointed them out.Scretch marks can happen from many things. Just pulling on the skin the wrong way can also cause it. For example I have a couple more stretch marks on my inner thigh from my ex pulling on my leg trying to randomly lift me up for no reason other than to be cute I guess. Well it failed. It hurt like hell. But no one goes looking for stretch marks even when wearing a bikini.I suggest focusing more on your health & diet and not so much on appearance. Yes looking good matters, but if it’s something not worth stressing about, that time and energy would be better put to use if you focused on what really mattered like a clean diet and healthier food choices espcially with today’s flawed Standard American Diet. I highly suggest the Paleo Diet. It heals the body and focuses on real organic foods and encourages healthy high fat products such as grassfed meats, grassfed butter, bacon, steak, wild caught fish, etc. The right fats will help prevent new stretch marks in the future as it helps improve the elasticity of the skin and also helps heal other skin conditions.

I am five months pregnant twisted the wrong way in bed this morning and it hurt, will it cause a miscarriage?

No. It was likely just your ligaments stretching. Happens to me all the time when I turn over in bed.

I turned my neck the wrong way and now am going on vacation on Friday..help?

Everyone has their opinion- If you are concerned of course run it by your Dr. here is my 2 cents. I'm sorry you have to travel after this. If you pulled or strained something massage may not work If you must be gentle and go easy. Sounds like you are feeling better so that's good news. I'm sure it will be better by Fri -but who doesn't get a stiff neck in general when traveling? I would put some ice on it and chill as much as possible- I know you have to pack and stuff but get to bed decent times the next few nights. On your travels bring advil. During your travels do some simple stretching while you are seated and whole body roll ups/downs while standing-The next is part of the spine after all. Seated twists here and there will be great also. Don't force anything and keep it gentle-just to keep the area from stiffening up and the juices flowing. I'll try and locate some good ones on youtube for you. Maybe get one of those neck pillow u shaped things too.
Good luck sounds like whatever you did it was on the mild side..maybe you don't really want this vaca subconsciously? Just foolin -enjoy and book that massage once you get there on Sat!

My shoulders hurt because i slept the wrong way...what should i do?

You can try some stretching, some ice and some massage.
Reach with your arms and your nech in various directions - GENTLY - and try to see which positions seem to be where things are tightest - hold and stretch those positions to attempt to get some relief. Also apply ice packs to the painful or stiff areas for 20 minutes, then take it off for 20 minutes, then re-apply the ice for 20 minutes. You can also take anti-inflammatories to help ease the discomfort.
Finally, see if you can get someone to rub your shoulders where the muscles feel tense like wires and press a little on the areas where the muscles feel wadded up in masses.
You can also gently warm up with a light aerobic routine and move the arms and shoulders gently to loosen up the muscles - but mostly use stretches.

Back pain in my middle-left side.?

it just started up a few days ago, at first i thought maybe i slept wrong or that maybe i needed to pop my back, but it wont pop and its still killing me after 3 days. if im just in a still position its fine, but if i stand, walk, or shift my body in any which way, it is a sharp pain.
its in the middle part of my back, to the left of my spine. i had my boyfriend rub on it for a a little the other night and it was a nice/painful feeling. i was hoping it would get better after a few days stretching it but it seems to still be here the same.
i drink plenty of water and i am very active, and i have never suffered from any other types of back pain ever in my life. this is really the first one.
does anyone know what it might be?
it doesnt hurt when i breathe,
it espicially hurts if im in a lay down position and shift my lower half or try to get up?

if anyone has any ideas or is experiencing the same thing as me please let me know. i would like to avoid going to the doctor unless yahooanswers cant help me. or unless it continues to get worse. thank you and 10pts awarded to best answer.

Does it matter if your PC's speakers are the wrong way round?

I have the speaker marked R on my left and the speaker marked L on my right. The reason for this is that if I tried to have them the correct way round, the wires would not stretch far enough for them to be plugged in. I tried reversing them earlier and found it was impossible.

Is this a big problem? I've had this computer with the speakers like this for almost 2 years and have never thought that the sound sounded odd or anything (I only discovered the speaker thing today), but now I'm wondering if the sound quality would be better if I was able to get them the right way round. Or does it not make a difference?

I would be able to place them side by side the correct way on one side of the computer, or would it be better to leave them the wrong way round? I hope this question isn't too complicated, and thanks very much to anyone who answers.
