Dividing a studio apartment?
I would use a room divider or two. Maybe create a wall going about halfway across the width of the room in the middle, or wherever you want to mark your "bedroom" off. I think that if you find the right room dividers, they can be really stylish. You can also make your own very easily. A few pieces of plywood, some heavy hinges and either paint or fabric and stuffing and a stapler to attach the fabric. If you made your own, you could personalize them to match your other furniture. I just wouldn't spend a huge amount of $ on them if you don't plan on staying for a long time. Another idea would be to hang a curtain floor to ceiling, but don't have it go all the way across. You could use those little hooks that screw by hand into the ceiling and get a curtain that hangs by metal gromets. That would be pretty.
Having guests over a studio apartment?
My boyfriend and I live in a studio apartment and sometimes we talk about having guests over and friends over but I don't know how it would work if the "living room" has a bed in it.. We could spend time in the kitchen but still, I would feel uncomfortable having people walking into what is our bedroom. Should I just not have guests over or how do you manage in a studio?
