On a student visa ~ You must be able to show that you have been accepted on a course of study at an educational establishment that is on the UK's Department for Children Schools and Families Register of Education and Training Providers.

You must be able to show that you are going to follow:

a recognised full-time degree course, or
a course run during the week involving at least 15 hours of organised daytime study each week, or
a full-time course at an independent fee-paying school

You must also:

~be able to pay for your course and support yourself and any dependants, and live in the UK without going into business or getting a job, or needing any help from public funds
~be able and intend to follow your chosen course, and
~intend to leave the UK when you complete your studies, if your course of study is below degree level.
~If you graduated from a UK university or other educational institution within the last 12 months with a bachelor's degree (second class honours or above), master's degree or PhD, you may be able to apply to stay in the UK and get a job for an extra year after your degree course finishes, without getting a work permit.

Remember for both visas you must prove that you can support yourself as you are not egilble for social benefits and you would have to see if you can apply for sutdent loans on that visa type as well

How do i check if my UK student Visa is still valid?

Hi! Im Russian. I was a student for 3 years in UK.....first in school and then in uni for one year. Before i went to uni i got a new visa for 3-years. Its a student Visa. But after 1 year i decided to move to France and go to Uni there. So i quit uni in london and moved out of UK. Anyway....
I have a question if i can still use my visa to enter uk? Its says on my visa that it expires in 1.5 years, but im not sure if it got cancelled couse i quit uni or not. I dont know who to ask? Should i call my uni or go to British Embassy or something? I dont really want to call my uni in case they must cancell it but they forgot ...hah or something i dont want to remind them. ( i know the chance of that is pretty slim but still).
Dont worry i really dont plan to sneak in and be illegal immigrant or anything like that. I just want to go to London for a week or two this summer to see my friends.
And the reason why i would like to use my studnent visa instead of just going to the embassy and getting the new one for one visit is that couse they probably wount get me one. Couse for a Russian to get a tourist visa to UK is a real pain in the ***. You need to get a tour through a travel agency...book a hotel and a flight through them. I really dont need that stuff couse i have where to stay so there is really no point for me to pay for hotel and the tour if im not going to live in it and see the sights.....so its just a waste of money.
And getting a visa wiwithoutll this stuff in nearly impossible couse young, single, eastern european girl trtraveling alone and staying just at random adresses apparently looks very suspicious in the eyes of the Embassy.

So yeah. Sorry for such a long message i just wanted to explain my situation. I would really appreciate your help. Really need to find out if my visa is valid or not couse obviously i dont want to have any problems at the British border in case its not.

Do I need to provide SAT scores for UK visa?

I'm a US student that will be studying at Leeds Met University this month (UK).
I read on the visa website that I will need to provide proof of how I obtained (original documents/certificates/diplomas) my CAS. I have already accepted my unconditional offer and they said they'll issue my CAS in order to apply for the visa. Does this mean I have to submit my official paper SAT/ACT scores to the embassy? or is it just my high school diploma?

If you have a short-term study visa in the UK for a 3-month course, can you stay in the country for 6 months? A short-term study visa is valid for 6 months.

As long as you have a valid VISA, you can - you are eligible to travel only one month before your course start, but sometimes this can be objectionable. They are afraid that you would indulge in the casual employment while being there in the UK, if you have enough financial support and a valid reason to travel one month in advance you can. If not you can travel at-least 15 days before your course start date and can stay there easily until your visa expires. Please make sure to leave the country at-least 15 days prior to your VISA expiry date.I hope this helps! Thanks
