Subjects To Opt For Ifs Indian Forest Service Exams

Which subject among the Indian Forest Service optional subjects has a small syllabus?

Please don’t choose the Optional subjects based on more or less syllabus. Only you can choose your optional subject based on your interest and educational back ground. For more information you can visit website: mathematicsoptional.com

What are the best subject combinations for Indian Forest Services?

The best combination for subjects in India Forest Service are, 1.      Agriculture and Agricultural Engg.2.      Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.3.      Agriculture and Forestry.4.      Chemistry and Chemical Engg.5.      Mathematics and Statistics.6.      Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering- not more than one subject. But Ironically UPSC doesn't allow this combinations. Being a biological science student, I think Botany and Zoology are the best combinations. I will try to explain why... 1. Both the subjects are basic science and we would have studied it form our schools hence better understanding of the subject.2. Botany paper II and Zoology paper II has similar kind of syllabus, for e.g.Botany paper II contains - Cell Biology; Genetics; Molecular Biology; Evolution; Biochemistry.Zoology paper II contains - Cell Biology; Genetics; Evolution; Biochemistry .Both the syllabus are from different perspective but still slight over lapping of syllabus occurs. We can observe the repetition of the topics in both the papers, for e.g.Botany paper II, Cell Biology unit contains- "Structure and function of cell organelles (chloroplasts, mitochondria, ER, ribosomes, endosomes, lysosomes, peroxisomes, hydrogenosome).Nucleus, Mitosis and meiosis" and  Zoology paper II, Cell Biology unit contains - "Structure and function of cell and its organelles (nucleus, plasma membrane, mitochondria, Golgibodies, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes and lysosomes), cell division (mitosis and meiosis)"Reading the same concept will reduce your time and you can utilize the same for others things.3. If graduated with Zoology and Botany as the subjects the this is the best options (can take up chemistry or other subject as per candidates interest). All the best :)

What optional subjects should I choose for the Indian Forest Services being a graduate in electrical engineering?

subjects which are yes or no for you.// Agriculture -NO// Agricultural Engineering -NO// Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science -NO// Botany -may be yes// Chemistry- NO// Chemical Engineering - NO// Civil Engineering -NO// Forestry- yes// Geology -yes// Mathematics -yes// Mechanical Engineering -NO// Physics - maybe yes// Statistics-NO// Zoology - maybe yesAlso to take care, that the questions asked of the two subjects you opt from here will be based on "graduation level".So choose according to your knowledge of subject at graduation level.Or IAS maybe a better option if you are not started for IFS.

How could one start preparing for IFS(indian forest services) exam(chemical engineering) in 8 semsester?

Read my answer here, you’ll know everything about the planning and strategy.Kunwar Pawan Singh Bhati (कुँवर पवन सिंह भाटी)'s answer to How should I start my preparation for Indian Forest Services Exam? But you’ll have to be very specific about the two optional subjects you’re going to opt. One you can opt is, Chemical Engineering and the other one, I’d prefer these two subjects to consider about,Maths (if you’re already great at engineering mathematics and have a lot of interest in solving problems)Or Forestry (I’ve chosen Forestry as my 2nd optional paper).Hope the information provided here helps.

Are optional subjects for IAS easier compared to optional subjects for Indian forest service (IFS)? So I am confused about whether should I select IAS or Indian Forest Service though I love want to become Indian Forest Service officer.

Yes , Most of the cases the Optional Subjects for IAS tougher compared to Optional Subjects for Indian forest service (IFS). 80% is common syllabus for IAS & Indian forest service (IFS). And preliminary exam is also same for both IAS & IFS. Therefore it is very better to prepare both the examinations simultaneously. So don’t confuse about whether should I select IAS or IFS. If you have dream in the Indian Forest Service then definitely you can choose IFS Exam. For more information you can visit website: IAS Mains Mathematics | IAS Maths Optional Coaching | UPSC Maths Optional Coaching | IAS Maths Syllabus | UPSC Maths Syllabus | UPSC Mains Maths

Which optional subject apart from chemical engineering should a chemical engineer choose for the Indian forest services exam?

The level of difficulty of optional subjects for CSE exam are that of Master's level. But, they are of Honor's level(a level below Master's but above Bachelors) in IFoS. In case of Engineering optionals, for IFoS they are of Bachelor's degree level. But this is not the case in CSE. Engg optionals definitely have an edge in IFoS. (Carefully read the Syllabus section in Notifications of both exams)A chemical engineer can choose any optional of his interest. I personally prefer Forestry, though.
