Suddenly I Have To Log In Every Time I Want To Check Finance - Even Though The

What's up with the spam crap from Yahoo! Answers suddenly?

I just noticed it myself.

Adblock Plus doesn't block it. (But install that anyway because it's an absolute must-have extension and it at least blocks the banner ads on yahoo if there are any.)

You need NoScript. Problem solved! (Also install RequestPolicy which complements noscript well by blocking cross-site requests whereas noscript only blocks on-site requests. These two addons will make browsing much safer in addition to blocking annoyances. However, to make your browser REALLY safe, use Sandboxie, it's free.)

With noscript, don't permanently allow facebook. When you need to actually log on to facebook just temporarily allow it.

Edit -- nevermind, the facebook script isn't the culprit. I'll have to experiment some more. Maybe I have to block one of the cross-site requests with RequestPolicy.

EDIT #2 -- Aha!! Noscript does save the day. You have to block the script "yimg". You can still allow it in RequestPolicy (so that the site isn't all messed-up looking), but block it in NoScript. You just won't be able to see anyone's icons anymore, big deal. Also can't hover over their name to see what % best answer they have (again, who cares).

And with that it doesn't matter if the box is checked or not. Might as well leave it checked.

Edit 3 -- drawback of disabling "yimg" is that you can't see your emails. So you have to allow it when checking email, and disable it when answering questions.

Definitely a bad move by Yahoo. They should focus more of their energy on just getting their email to work (every few weeks it crashes...) and upgrading it to SSL, and less energy trying to spam us. The reason for their revenue problems to begin with is their own incompetence. If their email worked, and if their search engine performed better, they wouldn't have to resort to spam. And if they didn't resort to spam they'd have more customers. It's a cycle.

All of a sudden Bank of America is asking if I have dual citizenship in the U.S and another country. They have never asked that before. Why is the bank doing this?

I don’t know, but possibly in anticipation of the USA finally living up to its promise of reciprocity under FATCA.When the USA forced every country in the world to have its financial institutions report all US accounts back to the IRS at enormous expense to the world and not the USA, the treasury promised reciprocity where the USA will report all citizens of other countries back to their respective tax authorities. So far, after having bullied the entire world in to complying, the USA has just proven itself to be a bullying liar that even its friends should not trust as far as it could be thrown. Reciprocity should have been in place late last year. You see, the USA has probably noticed that it would cost the USA hundreds of billions of dollars to report their own residents and citizens to the tax authorities of foreign nations so those foreign nations can consider taxing US residents and citizens, and this appears to be deeply disturbing on many levels.US citizens having their privacy stripped from them, reported to foreign nations so foreign nations can tax US resident Americans? That’s so wrong. And yet the USA feels it’s fine to force other nations to do just that, so the USA can tax the residents and citizens of other nations.Liars, hypocrites and bullies.(Rude? Possibly, but fact).

I have 14 backlogs in engineering. Should I give up my life?

Well. I had 37 backlogs in my B.Tech (Most of them I grabbed due to my low internal marks). A very few of my college mates (like me ) believed that I could pass. I had a good academic records till my Engineering. But from the 1st day it self during the course, I lacked the path. I don't want to blame my teachers alone for my internals because I had my own part in lowering it :). Many of my friends said me to give up and join any other diploma/course. Some of the papers I wrote more than 3 times and just fail. It was a turning point when my S7 results came. Most of the back benchers passed because it is going to be the end of the Course, but I got most number of backlogs in S7. Even in our farewell meeting teachers were busy asking our class toppers what's next, do this course like that. I sadly thought , “I don't know if I complete my course or not”Till that time I didn't reveal parents about my backlog history. My hall ticket has caught red handed by my Parents. They didn't scolded me, instead motivated by stories inside BIBLE as well as of other great personalities in the world. I really started my course then and with GODs grace and confidence I passed all papers as 37–21, 21–18, 18–2 and 2–0. I passed…….. magical moment for our family and I believed it is one among the best in my life.I was in a computer course by HCL at that time which changed me a lot in terms of personality and technical domain. I tried for many jobs and then I went for servicing PCs at home.At that time one of my friend said that there is some opening in Sutherland Cochin, Kerala, a bpo mnc. I went for an interview there and surprisingly I cleared all the rounds and got job as Technical Consultant.I stayed there for less that one year. After that I have done some certifications, got a job in another company, Admin-ahead. Then I moved to EY (it is hard for me to believe that I got job in Ernst and Young) and then after 4.5 years of experience, moved to IBM as a Technical specialist, stayed there for 2 years and now working with Eurofins, a product based company with decent package and good profileI worked in four MNC, learned many technologies and taken certifications, Earned many best performer awards and created multiple innovative tool sets which is now being used in EY and IBM around the globe. So go forward trusting in GOD (I believe there is only ONE which has no religion), confidence and try, try and try. You will definitely succeed. No one is stopping you from doing things

How do you remember hole cards in hold-em without looking at them ten thousand times?

A very good question. You definitely come off as a newb if you're looking again and again at your hole cards. I look once or twice before the flop, and then never again. (Twice if I forgot the suits at all.)

Someone said something about "top 10 hands". This wasn't entirely bad advice. You might play more than 10, but you're not playing tons of different cards.

Here's what works for me, but try different ways until you find something that works for you: I visualize the 2 card combination, but I audiate the 2 suits from highest to lowest value. (To audiate is to hear in your head.)

In other words, let's say I'm on the button and decided to limp in with the 8 of hearts and 9 of spades. I'd get a picture of 9-8 in my head, but I'd speak "Spade/Heart" inside my head a few times over and over. (Like someone else said - repetition is important.) So I'm saying in my head, "Spade/Heart, Spade/Heart, Spade/Heart", while I'm visualizing a 9 and an 8. So there's no confusion, I always visualize and audiate the highest card first.

Again - this is what works for me. Whatever you decide to do, practice makes perfect. Force yourself to not look down at your cards after the flop and you'll see other stuff going on. ESPECIALLY when the board hits 3 of one suit! How many times have you seen half the table suddenly glimpse their hole cards to see if they've got a flush draw?!? Newb-ville. (Plus, YES - it can be a tell!)

Deep breathing caused sudden sharp pain in lung/arm & back?

I was doing some breathing excercises three nights ago, and I decided to try and inhale as deep as I possibly could. (I used to be a very strong competitive swimmer and almost had no limit to how much I could inhale).
Well, about 3 minutes after I took this "way too much" breath, I got a sharp pain (kinda burning, more like a shot going into your lung), which initially felt like it was SOLELY in my lung.. not my back. (Hint, I know what a pulled muscle and a pinched nerve feel like. This was not that feeling.) I even had my boyfriend rub the area for a while. Now luck.

So then I started getting this pain significantly worse when I inhaled all the way (even normal breathing.) I ended up not sleeping that night because I was restless about my shallow breathing I was having to be conscious about... 'not crossing the threshold into severe sharp pain'.

The sharp pain I get from regular breathign has subsided, but when I try to take that deep breath again, it can be felt.

My friend says maybe I popped a blood vessel in my lung?

Has anybody else had this happen? Found a cause? Found a cure?

Thanks much!

What are some reasons a bank might close your account without telling you?

There are two basic reasons for a bank to close your account: it doesn't expect to make money on it, or it’s afraid of being liable for some fraud or money-laundering you might be doing. The bank does not need proof or even evidence. For example, a few years ago, JPM Chase decided to close all personal accounts of porn stars. They received notice (commonly referred to as “Dear John” letters, although in this case that seems inappropriate) but were not told the reason. People figured it out based on who got the letters, but the bank never confirmed the reason in public. I presume the reason is someone at the bank decided porn stars were more likely than other people to be banking revenue from illegal activities like prostitution or child porn (I don't say that’S true, just the obvious guess). In a similar case, companies involved in the legal marijuana business have reported having accounts closed. The bank is required to inform you, but the need not tell you the reason, and they need not give you advance notice. Of course, they do have to send you a check for any positive balance. If you didn't get the notice, the most likely scenario is the bank had sone concern, tried to contact you, failed, and closed your account for the combination of the original concern, and the fact that you didn't respond at the telephone number and address it had for you.Try to get a reason. It may be something simple to correct, like giving your new address or correcting your social security number. If you fail, I wouldn't bother fighting it, unless you feel there is some sort of illegal discrimination involved and want to fight back in the interests of justice. You are unlikely to profit in the struggle, or even get anywhere. There are two important things you can do. Pay off any negative balance, or you will have trouble opening bank accounts forever. Even a delay in payment can hurt you. If you can't pay immediately, try to negotiate a payment plan, and then stick to it.Second, get a copy of your ChexSystems report. It's free. If the bank has posted inaccurate information on it, dispute it with ChexSystems and try to get it corrected.
