Building a house in Bangalore can make you run around the Govt and Municipal Offices forever if you dont know the right process. In my opinion, most of the people either hire an Agent for getting permissions work done or they let contractor manage this work. However it is good to know the time, money and effort involved in the process so that you can always ensure the agent/contractor is doing the right work.Firstly, you need to know the Khata of your plot. If it is an A khata Plot, permissions are mandatory. If it is a B khata plot (in a B Khata Area in Bangalore), you dont need permissions to start the work. If your plot lies in the in the Panchayat Khata, you need to get approval from BMRDA/Town Planning authority which is usually very simple and less painstaking.For an A Khata plot, you need Approvals from BDA,BESCOM and BWSSB, with each one charging its own fee for approving your Plans, Electrical connection and Water Supply connection respectively.
