Can you suggest me a good username for my Twitter account?
Hi there? I had the same predicament when I first signed up for Twitter in May 2011. It's been 6 six years. I went shifting from one username until I settled on my current one twitter.com/lucamatoke. I don't see how I will go for another one. Here's what I have learnt:1. Use your real name. Unless you are an artist or have a stage name, use your real name. Because we drop nicknames with time. Best way is to use both your first and surnames or opt only for the surname.2. Avoid numbers and underscore. Because nowadays people tweet through text. And it becomes hard to memorize numbers and underscores.3. Use lower case letters throughout. As an example Biz Stone (@biz) who co-founded twitter uses lower case. It speaks for itself. I have also gone through prominent people like Sir Richard Branson(@richardbranson) and Tony Fernandes(@tonyfernandes). They all and their follow list is rising.Unless you are known like Barack Obama (@BarackObama) or Bill Clinton (@BillClinton), which is not the case for most of us, will you go for some upper case.4. Your username should be same as the one in your emails and other social media. Do not have dissimilar usernames on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. You'll create fame for whoever registers on the other side. Uniformity makes it easier for your fans. Remember in future another social media platform will come. Twitter will be like MySpace. How will they find you? Additionally, I saw Telegram allowing new users to claim a taken username if they had taken it on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. This is a good thing cause the problem of pwople jumping in earlier and taking your username will be a thing of the past and many social media founders am sure will go this route.5. If your username is taken, which has happened to many including me, get another name. My name is Lucas but I went for Luca. I have since had it going well. Don't worry about how people will take it. Good Twitter and Instagram usernames?
Hey guys. I am making a new Twitter account because my old account was from when I was younger and I look like a stupid 11 year old! People think I'm that young and everything because of the pictures and my username is so stupid! It's very childish and I want a new account. My name is Lauren (I share an account with my sis, Abbie) and I LOVE basketball, dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. I am looking for a really cute and girly type of name on it. I am 15 and some people think that eyes are an important thing to know? Lol idk why, but I'll tell you. They are dark brown and very shimmery and shiny. I know you need my personality, so here it is. I like to dance and have been in dance since I was 4, I like to sing and sing without even knowing it and I also made the school talent show 3 times by singing. I also am kinda tomboy and girly at the same time. I love flowers (Daisies and Sunflowers specifically) I am very sensitive most of the time, I have many friends and just somehow make friends easily. Now, about Instagram. For this one I want a funny name. Some more details is I like cats and I like horses. But, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PANDA'S (So cute! And the cubs make me wanna cry, they're so adorable!) I like to be funny and turn the bad things into funny things (Such as breakups, being bullied, etc) and I want a really funny username.

How can I come up with a good username?
A good username has to be relevant to you, your brand or your persona.So really it would depend very much on what your naming and what you need to the username to achieve.Am assuming (from your question) that you want a new username not one based on an existing name.In which case you can go nearly random or completely random with your ideas. Why are there Twitter accounts with the same username?
Obviously if the URL were the same you'd be looking at the same account, so I immediately knew we were dealing with i/L mischief. I copied the URLs and using this site I found using Google (http://www.convertcase.net/) changed them to all-caps to reveal which letters were capital I's and which were lowercase l's...THE ONE I AM FOLLOWING IS HERE: HTTPS://TWITTER.COM/#!/THEILLUMINATI AND THE ONE SHE IS FOLLOWING IS HERE: HTTPS://TWITTER.COM/#!/THELILUMINATIThere you go. There's probably a keyboard shortcut for toggling ALL CAPS in a text editor, but I don't recall what it is or if it works on all systems. Would be happy to update this is anyone drops that info in the comments.
If I change my Twitter username, can users still find me by my old username?
Yes and no. I have had several friends do exactly this…. As they changed the name on one account, they also immediately went and created a new account with the expired name. The bio there provides the link. I'm info to the new account.It also depends on how dramatically you change your account. For instance, my Twitter account is JPlovesCOTTON. If I were to make it JP followed by something else, it would be much easier for people to find me as they would type the at symbol and JP and I would be one of their followers that fits that.The good news is, you retain all your followers. I would leave your profile picture the same for a while and schedule a few tweets at various times of day over a week (frequency to depend on how often you usually tweet, you want to be sure it's not the only thing in your timeline) that makes the connection for people.
