Has anyone got a rank under 3000 in IIT JEE and still didn't take admission in an IIT but rather took admission at BITS?
Yes in NITK 2012-16 batch , Vishal Karve from CSE department had a rank of approx 2400ish in JEE-2012. He left Mech at IIT-G and BITS-Pilani for CSE at NITK. He went on to become one of the best competitive programmers in the country over the next 2-3 years. Even before coding he was able to get many people enthusiastic about Chess and Rubik Cube solving when we were in first year itself.Moreover a large number of programming guys always ended up in his room for tuition/ gurudakshina when it came to beginning their coding career or when they were stuck with a problem. I wouldn't be wrong if I said he has inspired a generation of coders at NITK. When not coding he's seen spending hours discussing Manga/Anime/Comics/Pokemon.With an intern at Amazon and two placement offers at Myntra and Walmart he has proven without doubt that he's one of the best in his field.Most importantly he's probably one of the MOST HUMBLE persons you'll meet despite his stellar achievements.So too bad BITS, you missed out on this guy. :)
