Suggestions For Music Playlist

I'm trying to make a chill music playlist... any suggestions?

I think Coldplay's "High Speed" is a great chill song. Off the top of my head I would suggest Duran Duran's "Tiger Tiger", the Police song called "Darkness", U2's "Love Comes Tumbling", Kate Bush's "The Warm Room", and Sting's "Lithium Sunset".

What music suggestions would you give based on this?

I personally wouldn’t call that ‘incredibly wide musical taste’. With the exception of TOP, by which I assume you mean the Korean rapper, those are all white musicians, either from the USA or the UK. Still, not bad. Here are some suggestions:Because you said you liked Bowie, you might like Talking Heads.Because you said you liked blink-182, you might like Husker Du, who helped to invent pop-punk.Because you said you liked Suburban Legends, you might like the Skatalites (who were a real ska band from Jamaica.)Because you said you liked Bob Dylan, you might like Fela Kuti, who’s kind of like the Nigerian equivalent of early Dylan, except he’s not playing folk-ish type music but high-energy Afrobeat with a strong jazz influence.Because you said you liked the Shins, you might like Thin White Rope, who were an aggressive 80s band from California that never made it as big as some of their peers but who were incredibly great when they were on form.I’m not great on rap - not that I don’t like it, but there’s just so much of it and I’m wary of recommending the same old names to people. I mean, I could name a lot of people from Jay-Z through Mos Def and De La Soul to the Beastie Boys, but I would advise you to just dive in there. But in the meantime, for some cutting edge rap, here’s Zebra Katz and Njena Reddd Foxxx. You will notice that a lot of these tracks are from the past. This is not because I only listen to music from the past, because I don’t (in fact the other day I bought an album by Chris Thile and Brad Mehldau that had come out the previous week), but the music that you cited made me think mostly of past music.

Song suggestions to put on a playlist? Looking for the following types of music (in the desc)?

Hey, Yahoo Answers community. My friend’s birthday is coming up on April 16, and I’ve been working on a playlist to make her because she’s always mentioned she’d love if someone made one for her, but I’m drawing a blank for song ideas. When I’ve facetimed her I notice she listens to a lot of alternative/soft-pop music, some indie too. She also loves Taylor Swift, and gets nostalgic for early 2000’s alt rock (e.g. Avril Lavigne, possibly Evanescence? Haven’t heard her listen to it but that’s what pops into my head when I think of the genre).

I included some screenshots of what i’ve gathered so far, and highlighted the songs I know for sure she likes in yellow just to give an idea of what genres she listens to (I’m not a huge music person so I’m not sure how to associate certain genres with bands/artists usually).

Also, if anyone knows some songs similar to “Bloom Later” by Jesse Rutherford (think that’s his name), or has any suggestions that would be a big help. Thanks!

What are some suggestions on content for an up-tempo party playlist consisting of classical music (that is, art music from before 1900)?

Gosh I do say, what a frightfully delightful proposition!I would steer clear of Romantic compositions, certainly the later Romantic works.. there is too much emotion, too much pathos and drama to make for good background music..Personally I would go for compositions which were originally intended for that very purpose: Waltzes; Minuettes and Trios; chamber music etc.Start with a YouTube search, say.. “lively Classical chamber music”, or “Mozart vivace” ; “Minuettes”; “Strauss waltzes”.What could go down really well in fact - occasion permitting of course - would be to source someone well-versed in 18th century dances. At a certain point, the guests could learn one of the old fashioned dances that went with the music!

I am bored with my playlist. Does anyone have good music recommendations?
